  1. NO SCHIT! That was THE most rediculously typed piece of garbage I have ever TRIED to read. It makes no sense and is impossible to follow. Are you an English major? You think Trent was playing for HIS job? Haha. I highly doubt that had Trent Edwards lost the Broncos game, he would not be around next year. Trent Edwards WILL BE our STARTING QB next year...regardless of who the Head Coach is. And...there was obviously NO Super Bowl in sight back in 2003, I mean...didnt you just say the Patriots beat us 31-0? Getting beat by 31 points sounds like a Super Bowl caliber team to me! There is ZERO correlation between these 2 teams...not even between the 2 coaches and/or coordinators. I guess I could give you an "E" for Effort though! Nice try.
  2. sure have...here's 3 of them! http://www.nfldraftsite.com/2010%20Mock.htm http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2010.php http://www.nfldraftdog.com/Mock_Drafts/201...NFL%20Draft.htm I LOVE the 1st one..."With the 11th overall selection in the 2010 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select...Myron Rolle, Safety, Florida State!" (This dude is an absolute BEAST...been following him since his high school days...same as Sam Young/OT/Notre Dame, Videl Hazelton/WR/USC, Percy Harvin/WR/Florida, and Sergio Kindle/OLB/Texas.)
  3. Where would you rate him? Everywhere I read says that he will go in the 6th-7th rounds...even "Undrafted." I hope they are right and we take a REAL SERIOUS look at him. He looks like a BEAST. I also hope we give some consideration to Jermaine Gresham, Tight End from Oklahoma. He looks pretty nasty too! *A Free Agent I would like to see us pursue, and I think it would be no problem getting him in here...is OLB/DE Brandon Johnson, from the Bengals. He was drafted out of Lousiville by the Cardinals, and Cincy signed him last year to what I believe was just a 1-year deal. I used to watch him play in college and he is an animal. He would be a GREAT upgrade over Keith Ellison, as he plays the LOLB position. He is also a stud on special teams. ---> Brandon Johnson - Cincinnati Bengals, OLB : 25 years old. Louisville. 3 years NFL exp. 6-5, 245 lbs. ~ He lettered in Football AND Basketball...3 times in High School. *Pro-Day/Campus Agility Tests* 40-yard Dash ~ 4.44 Bench Press ~ 225 lbs, 5 times. Back Squat ~ 345 lbs. Hang Clean ~ 255 lbs. Vertical Jump ! 32.5 inches. Arm Length ~ 34 inches. Hand Size ~ 9 ¼-inches. (Right handed) *A few NFL highlights... - As a starter, he has 79 tackles in 7 games...averaging 11 tackles per game. (Has games of 10, 12, 17 and 13 tackles.) - Had 17 tackles in a game vs. the Ravens. - Led the team in tackles for 4 straight weeks, after stepping in for Keith Rivers. - 5 tackles for a loss, leads the Bengals in the statistic. - 1 INT returned for 40 yards. (Set-up a TD). 3 pass deflections. - 8 QB hurries, ties for 2nd on team...he can rush the passer. (only 1.5 sacks in 7 games). *In college he had some nice stats too... - 31 starts - 240 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 3 TD's (INT, Blocked Punt, Fumble Recovery). - 72 tackles, led team as a Senior. - 3 blocked punts as a freshman, led the nation. *This was his Scouting Report coming out of Louisville... "One of the fastest linebackers in college football, Louisville fans became used to seeing Johnson chasing down opposing ball carriers all over the field. He is a fluid athlete that is blessed with great lateral agility and size that make him ideal for a Cover-2 defensive alignment, whether as a nickel linebacker or as a safety."
  4. We will soon enough see the Kevin O'Connell experiment...executed to perfection. http://www.nfl.com/players/kevino'conn...le?id=OCO193317 They will NOT trade away Tom Brady, but they will let Matt Cassel walk. Cassel is the next Matt Schaub...a backup who got a shot to prove himself, did so, went to be the savior of another team, and let everybody down while failing to meet and live up to the expectations set for him. Brady will go on for another year or two in New England, but he will slip and lose a little bit due to his injury. By then, O'Connell will be ready to step in, so Brady can be cut loose (ala Bledsoe/Brady). Or, they will somehow find another "Gem" in the draft this year or next, groom him and replace Brady with that player. I certainly would NOT put it past them to pull off something crazy on draft day this year. *Wasn't Kevin O'Connell a 3rd Round Draft Pick?
  5. I really do not follow college football, let alone anything other than what's on TV. However, I caught some of the Richmond game the other day. This Defensive End, Lawrence Sidbury Jr. is a BEAST! He is 6-4, 265 lbs. This website says he runs a 4.8, 40-time. He was ALL OVER THE FIELD. He is quick and strong. Could also be a nasty outside linebacker. http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingrepo...-Sidbury-Jr.php http://richmondspiders.cstv.com/sports/m-f...lawrence00.html http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dspro...9&genpos=DE In the earlier rounds, Michael Johnson and George Selvie look nice too. After seeing Schobel puss out and the Kelsay/Denney dynamic duo, stink up the joint...I am ready for a dominant force with speed and strength. Someone who wants to kill the Quarterback on EVERY play...ALL game long. To solve problem...watch the players mentioned above. (can't find any videos of Sidbury.)
  6. Lets go get Turner Gill! (ok, maybe not...but SYRACUSE SHOULD!)
  7. It all has to do with attitude. Did you see the Sunday Conversation on ESPN with Steve Smith? He said that he has ALWAYS been told he was too small, not fast enough...etc. Well he has been out there for 8 years trying to and succeeding at proving EVERYONE wrong! That is his inspiration...he is out to make a name for himself and to show everyone that doubted him, that they were not very intelligent or good at evaluating talent. Not to mention he has 2 running backs who put up 300 yards, 4 tds and 8 ypc on the Bucs defense. I dont think Lee Evans has the swagger it takes to be dominant. Marshawn seems to though. You can tell who thinks that they cannot be stopped and who is scared and soft. Roscoe seems to know he cant be stopped with the ball in his hands.
  8. I know this is a long post...but I think I have some good points to get out there. If they have been shared already, I am sorry...but I just wanted to make my own post and share my thoughts. Okay, I have observed and watched over the forum for the whole season now, and I just cannot keep my thoughts to myself any longer. I need to vent and get some thoughts? First off...after our downfall, I threw out a piece of paper with my thoughts about our nice start. I said to myself, this team is talented and well-coached. But the most important thing I thought was, that this team was playing with heavy hearts and motivation, for their own fallen soldier, Kevin Everett. It seemed like after he showed up at the first home game, these guys were playing for him...a teammate that lost the opportunity to play the game he has loved his whole life. They seemed to understand that it could happen to any and ALL of them, at any point. What the hell happened? Well, I am not exactly sure I or anyone else can put a finger on it...but I have some ideas. Was Everett forgotten? Do these guys take EVERYTHING for granted? Do we really just suck this bad as a TEAM and organization? I highly doubt it. They are all PROFESSIONALS at this level for a reason. We have a VERY talented team, all across the board. With an offense featuring such a highly touted QB as Edwards was, a frickin' horse like Marshawn, another RB who could start on some teams in Jackson, and a WR corp like we have...we should be putting up A LOT of points, EVERY game! Not to mention, we have the biggest and heaviest O-Line in the NFL. Can we say SOFT? Why are we soft? It all boils down to our coaching staff. I watch coaches like Mike Tomlin, Tony Sparano, John Fox, John Gruden, Tom Coughlin, Eric Mangini and other WINNING football coaches...and they are just as into the game as the players and the fans. Jauron shows NO emotion...ZIP, ZERO, ZILCH...!@#$IN NO EMOTION! Watching the Giants game and the Steelers game on Sunday...those 2 coaches were SOOO into the game. I believe it was when Justin Tuck blocked a kick and it was taken back for a TD, Coughlin was RUNNING with his player side by side down the field, cheering him on! Mike Tomlin, after some big plays in that game, would run to his players and hug them, slap them on the helmets and GET HIS TEAMED FIRED UP! We are missing the passion. We need somebody young and creative at the helm. We need a young HC to surround with an older OC and DC, that can get this team fired up and prepared. We need to practice outdoors and not take Monday and Tuesdays off. This team does not lack TALENT, it may lack a couple key players at key positions...TE, FB, RG, C, DE, OLB and CB. Not in order, but those should be our draft picks this year. A receiving TE is crucial in this league, especially for a young QB. A blocking fullback, although rare today, is a much needed necessity for a team like Buffalo. Brad Butler is alright, but we need somebody with fire, somebody who wants to tear people apart...same at Center. DE depth is missing, Schobel and Kelsay are good and Ellis will be a fine player, but we need a STUD...see Tuck, Ware, Umenyiora...etc. An OLB like Joey Porter would be nice to line up with Poz and Kawika. I think we are set at CB, honestly, but a BIG/Physical CB would be nice...Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie comes to mind as somebody I would have liked to get this past year. I like Leodis, A LOT, but he is no bigger than McGee, Greer and Youboty. Last thing I wanna say is...the "Tampa-2" is NOT working. Whether we have the "RIGHT" players or not, it is not working at all. Look at these teams who whoop our asses, they play the 3-4 defensive scheme. That seems to be the new thing. Look at the leaders in sacks this season, Joey Porter, Demarcus Ware and James Harrison, ALL PLAY IN THE 3-4 defense! The Steelers, Cowboys, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, Chargers, Browns and 49ers are all teams that come to mind that play the 3-4 defense. 5 of those teams beat us, and the others are some of the BEST teams in the NFL, year after year. The Colts and the Bucs, other "Tampa 2" defenses, are horrible. The Bucs got ripped for 300 rushing yards tonight. Could you imagine a defense with Schobel and Kawika at the OLB's and Poz and Crowell in the middle, or Kawika in the middle and Crow on the outside. Then we could have Stroud in the middle, Kelsay at 1 DE and say Spencer Johnson or McCargo at the other DE with their speed and power. Folks...the problem is NOT the players. This team is VERY young and inexperienced. This year was a hell of a learning experience for these kids. The execution is mediocre, but it is the coaching and the philosophy that is the problem. It has nothing to do with spending money, its all about spending the right amount of time to figure out who fits the job description the best. We all know Dick Jauron was hired because of his relationship with Marv Levy...well he is gone, and Dick needs to go too. We need somebody who will use these players for what the are best at. Get the ball in Roscoe's hands, run Marshawn 25 times a game, use the Wild-cat with Jackson and Lynch, use Losman for his athletic ability and speed like the Jets use Brad Smith or the way the 49ers use Michael Robinson, or even look at Seneca Wallace out in Seattle. No matter what though...at the end of the day. This is my team! I will love them and root for them no matter what. I cried myself to sleep as a child, 4 YEARS IN A ROW, then wouldnt go to school the next day. If I survived that, I can take this bullsh--. My Pops ALWAYS told me, before he passed away in June...the Bills and the Sabres will break your heart for the rest of your life. However, I still BILLIEVE! We just need some changes. It worked for Miami and Atlanta. But will we ALWAYS have NEXT YEAR to look forward to? I see positive changes coming...we are fighting for our spot in the NFL as the BUFFALO BILLS...and I honestly think Russ Brandon and Ralph Wilson know this. I am done ranting and raving...just had to get this off my chest. I am sure I will think of stuff I missed and I will add it to this post...but in the mean time, what do you all think? Thank you! (The thought of McNabb in a Bills uniform...really tickles my fancy. I love the idea of bringing McNabb back to the area. And my vote for our NEW HEAD COACH would be DC Steve Spagnoulo from the Giants.)
  9. I got a call last night from my buddy who has season tickets with his roommate. Well, said roommate is moving or wont be around...so guess who gets to go to his first ever monday night football game??? WOOT WOOT...REALLY !@#$IN PUMPED!!!
  10. I will put my vote in for Mike Mularkey! What a great job he is doing with a ROOKIE QB. He has really turned this team's Offense around. Hasn't he?
  11. being a follower of ASU football and having a friend who is a Fins fan...I would say, "HELL YES" bring him in. I really think with the right coaching and system, he would be a stud. Might even be an upgrade over Reed.
  12. it has been mentioned and briefly talked about before. however, this article came out on sunday. things must be heating up or getting more serious in recent days/weeks. i hope it is all true.
  13. growing pains folks. he is still very young and inexperienced in certain game situations. give it a rest...and some time. lets all focus on the positive things we have seen this year, from trent and the team.
  14. OSU...CB...MALCOLM JENKINS!!! Stick with tradition!!! (Buffalo Buckeye secondary).
  15. Just to add to the discussion... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=75307 http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...l-insider_N.htm *My Opinion? YES, he is...without a doubt!
  16. I second that motion and I am right there with you on your thoughts. I think Kawika Mitchell has been a playmaker and a gamechanger. He is a stud. I think he and Stroud are making that defense better than it is, without Crowell. I would have also said Poz, he has had that same effect. I like Whitner's versatility, but I need to see some more plays made. I would vote Defense no matter what because I think it has had the biggest effect on the team and its turnaround.
  17. I guess our argument is FINALLY SETTLED! http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...l-insider_N.htm *Kind of funny that this article comes out just days after we were talking about this. ...my friend's uncle is "Mr. NFL" on the Bob Matthews show. He is a Jets fan. A complete "Doosh."
  18. Would have been my EXACT thoughts on EVERYTHING! Nice post.
  19. A friend of mine and I were arguing on Sunday about the following: I said that there is NO WAY IN HELL that I would have traded for Roy Williams, giving up what Dallas gave up. And... He claims that Lee Evans is not a Top-Flight WR in the NFL. He says Evans is not worthy of a #1 spot, and that all he can do is go deep. No jukes or spin moves, no ups for jump balls...etc. My friend said Lee Evans is NO WHERE near as good as Santana Moss, Laverneus Coles or Steve Smith. He then went on to say, he would rather have Randy Moss RIGHT NOW, on the Bills roster, instead of Lee Evans. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? Would you have traded a 1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th for WR Roy Williams? And... Is Lee Evans skilled enough to be a legit #1...is he as good as Santana Moss and Steve Smith? (Other studs, his size). And... Who would you rather have on the Bills, RIGHT NOW...Lee Evans or Randy Moss?
  20. In the last 2 games we have had to run the defense we have been running, because of injuries and matchups. The Chargers game saw DB's moving around to account for Antonio Gates and our injuries. Ko Simpson has been nagged by a hamstring injury, McGee has been slowed with a knee injury, Schobel has been sidelined with a foot injury, Digiorgio is gone on IR and Youboty has been out with a foot injury as well. We have had to make up for all of these losses on the defensive side of the ball. Our #1 Corner and Free Safety have been out, which really hurts our pass defense. Not to mention losing Aaron Schobel, although he has not performed very well, still really hurts our pass rush. None of this helps our backups when they step in to try and help out. Then John Digiorgio, a very good coverage linebacker, gets put on IR ending his season. That hurts. But in my opinion, the biggest hit to this team, defensively, has been Cornerback Ashton Youboty. Youboty was playing "lights out" football at the beginning of the year, and doing it consistently up until he got hurt. He is physical and was making plays all over the field. I think we might need him back the most. All in all, I firmly believe, when healthy, we have 1 of the best (top-15) "All-Around" Secondaries in the league. -Cornerbacks: McGee, Greer, Youboty, McKelvin, Corner. - Safeties: Whitner, Simpson, Wilson, Scott, Wendling. Again, when healthy, I like what we have. A lot. I feel very comfortable when we have those starters all out there. Even with the thought and likelyhood of Jabari Greer leaving in Free Agency, I like the future or next couple years of: McGee, McKelvin and Youboty. With Corner and a mid/low round draft pick or a FA signee, rounding out the Cornerbacks. I think George Wilson will be brought back, he is valuable. Then we still will have Whitner, Simpson, Wendling and Scott. 1 more side thought... - If we did need Safety help, I would wish that Buffalo would take a look at Josh Barrett. He was drafted out of Arizona State, by Denver (Practice Squad). He is 6-2, 230 and ran a 4.35 (40 time) at the Combine. Being a Sun Devil fan and following the program for the last few years, he is capable of being a very good player in the NFL. I like his potential. ***Here is a good list of the upcoming Free Agents: http://www.profootballcentral.com/2009-free-agents/
  21. Following the 'Canes and having a friend who is a Browns fan...I would love to have Winslow on the Bills and I would give up a 2nd rounder to get him too. Alot of these guys are jerks and punks. It is a matter of who is coaching them and the chemistry around the atmosphere they are in. Look at Randy Moss. He got hooked up with a coach who can understand him and help him. Not to mention, he was put in a great atmosphere and around good people (by that, I mean a solid, no non-sense franchise). Then look at our very own Marcus Stroud. He seems to be lifting this team up and REALLY helping out on and off the field. I definitly believe that Dick Jauron is a !@#$ING awesome coach and the players LOVE to play for him. Kellan Winslow would not be able to pull antics here with the leaders we have in our locker room. Whitner, Kelsay, Evans, Edwards, Royal, Mitchell, Stroud, Schobel...do you really think they would stand for that schit? He also would not be needed to much, therefore would not absorb so many hits, risking an injury so much. We have playmakers all over the offensive side of the ball, he would not need to shoulder so much of the work. He needs a change of scenery. Cleveland blows. However, if we don't make a run for him...I would bet money that the Dolphins or Patriots will.
