  1. if kitna thought he could get that lions team to the playoffs, we have much better talent...what do you suppose he would think he could do with this team?
  2. He is NOT really big. He is smaller than Duke Preston, and 10 lbs lighter (2 inches bigger) than Fowler was. *I have read that he is not very strong against the NT's of the 3-4. He will probably be our LG.
  3. CHECK THIS OUT! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoff_Hangartner Geoffrey Thomas Hangartner (born April 22, 1982 in Houston, Texas) is an American football player who currently plays center for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He played college football at Texas A&M University. * OK...didn't know he actually signed when I went to look him up. my bad.
  4. I would be ecstatic with Simmons, June, Bly, Jones, Hangartner, Coles and Neal. No Kelley Washington and No Shawn Springs. Not gonna happen though. I bet we don't get 1 of those guys...most likely scenario if we do, Washington and Hangartner.
  5. Branden Ledbetter, TE, Western Michigan (6-5, 236) Overview During the early portion of his career, Ledbetter was often compared to former Western Michigan standout Tony Scheffler. He isn’t quite as athletically gifted as Scheffler, but he’s very impressive in his own right. Ledbetter caught 120 balls over the past three seasons and finished the 2008 season year with 45 receptions, 464 yards and six touchdowns. Scout’s Take An athletically gifted tight end who displays impressive straight-line speed (4.69) and has the ability to threaten the seam and create mismatches down the field. Displays a really good first step and can consistently burst and separate in and out of his breaks. Reaches full speed quickly and has an ability to create some yards after contact. Exhibits good body control and hands with an ability to track the ball down the field. Looks more like a bulked-up receiver and will never be much of a factor as a down tight end on the line of scrimmage. Lacks power in his lower body and looks to lanky and thin-framed for the position. But he does do a nice job using his hands and shiftiness to beat press coverage off the line and get into routes quickly. Rundown Ledbetter did a nice job showcasing his playmaking ability at the Texas vs. the Nation Bowl, hauling in four catches for 39 yards. His speed and receiving skill set will allow him to create mismatches as a possible H-back prospect at the next level. He is never going to be much of an in-line blocker, but if you need a late-round tight end prospect with some big-play potential, Ledbetter is your guy. *I really like the scouting info on this guy. I say build the lines in the early rounds, and keep an eye on this guy.
  6. THEE Matt Bowen? is it the same guy who played for us? http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/0...-in-the-box-26/ he takes a nice shot as his former boss, dan snyder.
  7. Mike Gandy was the STARTING LEFT TACKLE for a SUPER BOWL TEAM...enough said.
  8. it is also something the patriots, colts, and many other teams have done along the offensive line in past years...seems like it worked alright for the dolphins (long) and the falcons (baker) last year.
  9. *per shnooks da kid...10 minutes earlier. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=83734
  10. why trade away our players and create more holes, to get a lineman? there are a couple on the market who could step in here and start, and we can easily find a starter in the draft. not to mention, in your scenario, we would be getting rid of valuable draft picks. that's not a good idea for this team.
  11. this is an amazing deal for the chiefs! vrabal AND cassel for a 2nd rounder...that's it? not too bad for the patsies either, cutting that salary. lets make a move buffalo!
  12. give me an example in the past few years where signing somebody at midnight on the opening day of free agency has helped our cause? jason whittle? the only 2 guys we could have had, that signed today (got traded) were jason brown and kellen winslow. nobody else involved in a transaction today was going to help us or come here. don't even say haynesworth either!
  13. me neither. everyone has been praying for a TALL WR...now we all want another 5'11 guy? i do think he would make our offense better, but i would still rather get a taller guy.
  14. please back up your opinion with some facts as to why you think these silly things? why is it a mistake to let him walk when we have mcgee, mckelvin, youboty and corner? and... exactly how and why is greer better than mcgee? please elaborate...because you make zero sense.
  15. he was just signed as camp fodder, like all the other practice squad guys. corey mcintyre got a 2 year deal, and i dont think he will be on the opening day roster.
  16. if a player can be sold with a coaches philosophy and the talent/potential on the team...and can be bought with the right amount of money...any player will go to any team. with the exception of a veteran nearing retirement, ala fred taylor choosing between the bills and patriots. (he has a better opportunity to start and get more carries in new england than he had here too.)
  17. dang. i have always thought we was a pretty good tight end, and he has ties to jauron.
  18. kelley washington, drayton florence and jamie winborn. AWESOME! CHAMPIONSHIP! What about TE Dan Campbell, just cut by the Lions? Looks like BOTH (WR) DJ Hackett and Bryant Johnson flamed out with their new teams this past season. I remember A LOT of people wanting the Bills to sign Hackett.
  19. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=83089 he beat ya to it buddy!
  20. I have been crying this for a couple years now...however, I have come to realize that your TEAM represents and takes on the qualities of their COACH. The Pittsburgh Steelers are nasty, bad@$$ motherchuckers...because of the personality of Mike Tomlin. Even better, not many of the players on that Steelers team has gotten in trouble. Good coaches can turn 'high character' players into tough/physical monsters. Belichick has done it with guys like Vrabel and Bruschi. Said coaches, ie. Belichick with Moss...can keep a troubled player grounded. It all starts with the MAN giving the speech before the game. The MAN that all of the players on the team TRUST. * Dick Jauron has no fire or passion. He has NO emotions at all...Dick Jauron has no balls.
  21. agreed. Someone mentioned the Chiefs and Lions getting Quarterbacks before August, but there are plenty of other teams that are in need of a starting caliber Quarterback. Someone else mentioned that Matt Cassel is only a system Quarterback, but I wouldn't bet on it. Sure he had Randy Moss (and Wes Welker, who I would rather have) and a good line ahead of him. However, the line had some injuries and the running game was very inconsistent. I think Cassel is a very intelligent game manager on the field (makes good decisions), and he is mobile with a decent arm. In most Patroits games I saw, he was showing good leadership abilities on the field and sideline. He was also usually always talking to a coach and/or looking at pictures sent down. Interviews show he has a friendly personality. What do I know, eh? All in all, I think this guy is going to be good, but for a team other than the Patriots. *The other teams I was thinking of were: (Besides Kansas City and Detroit) + Tennessee Titans - If Kerry Collins retires, or comes to Buffalo (ha.ha) and Vince Young isn't the answer. + New York Jets - If Brett Favre retires. Kellan Clemens? Come on. + San Francisco 49ers - Sean Hill, J.T. O'Sullivan and Alex Smith? Again, come on. + Chicago Bears - Kyle Orton was alright, Rex Grossman is Losman-ish-ly terrible...they need to upgrade. + Minnesota Vikings - Tarvaris Jackson is alright, Gus Frerotte don't cut it. Cassel would make them MUCH better. + Buffalo Bills - WILDCARD + Arizona Cardinals - If Kurt Warner retires, they don't seem high on Matt Leinart...he was not this staff's guy to begin with. Imagine if Cassel became "their guy", ahead of Leinart. I would bet they wouldn't trade him to New York, and maybe even Tennesse, being in the AFC. Bet anything could happen with the right deal. This should get interesting...everything starts today with teams being able to release players officially.
  22. I think I just posted about this last week sometime, when I came across this item. Pretty weird someone brings it up, as I never knew it existed in our household. I have a piece (27in. X 18in.) of the "End Zone Astro-Turf" (No. 1429) AND the Certificate of Authenticity. It is signed by Bill Polian and Marv Levy...and it says: "This historic piece of the end zone from the Bills' 1990 Super Bowl season has been celebrated on by players such as Kelly, Reed, Thomas and Lofton, among other, in this championship season. It is guarenteed authentic." I just came acrossed it last week when I was going through my Father's closet, looking for all his old Marines and Police stuff. He passed away in June. I also found "1980 Winter Olympic Games - Lake Placid, NY" labeled hockey puck...signed by, Mike Eruzione. I never knew my Father had these things, and I was pretty psyched to find them. I will cherish them in my collection forever.
