  1. I think they can find a Long Snapper somewhere else within the team. I can't find where Whittle was signed, he is not very good anyways. Bryan Scott does not have the potential or athletic ability that some of the other DB's do. There is only 53...if you don't count Teraz McCray. (I would say either him of Jefferson make the team).
  2. My 2008 Buffalo Bills Lineup: *Bold is different from original poster's lineup. Offense QB Trent Edwards (JP Losman) RB Marshawn Lynch (Fred Jackson, Dwayne Wright) FB Mike Viti (Xavier Omon) WR Lee Evans (Josh Reed, Justin Jenkins) WR James Hardy (Roscoe Parrish, Steve Johnson) TE Robert Royal (Derek Fine, Teyo Johnson) LT Jason Peters (Kirk Chambers) LG Derrick Dockery (Demetrius Bell/Robert Felton) C Melvin Fowler (Duke Preston) RG Brad Butler (Demetrius Bell/Robert Felton) RT Langston Walker (Kirk Chambers) Defense LE Chris Kelsay (Ryan Denney) DT Marcus Stroud (Kyle Williams) DT John McCargo (Spencer Johnson, Jason Jefferson) RE Aaron Schobel (Chris Ellis) SLB Angelo Crowell (Alvin Bowen) MLB Paul Posluszny (John Digiorgio) WLB Kawika Mitchell (Keith Ellison) CB Terence McGee (Jabari Greer, Reggie Corner) CB Leodis McKelvin (Will James, Ashton Youboty) FS Ko Simpson (George Wilson, Kennard Cox) SS Donte Whitner (John Wendling) K Rian Lindell P Brian Moorman Practice Squad QB Luke Drone RB Bruce Hall WR Felton Huggins WR Jason Jones DE/DT Teraz McCray LB Joe Brockington LB Jon Banks LB Marcus Buggs Some suggestions... -> I think that Wright and Omon will BOTH be kept on, for special teams and a backup Fullback. -> I think that WRs Steve Johnson and Justin Jenkins will stay...AND surprise! -> Due to athletic ability and versatility, Teyo Johnson or Courtney Anderson and Derek Fine or Derek Schouman will be Royal's backups. Johnson and Anderson are the same player, except Johnson is a better receiver with more speed. Fine and Schouman are the same player, both can backup FB. -> Rookies Bell and Felton will be kept on as project linemen, due to their potential talent. -> Jason Jefferson will be kept due to his versatility as a DE and DT. -> Alvin Bowen will replace Haggan/Stamer...but will be a better Linebacker. -> We will keep 6 corners, all too good to let go. -> Kennard Cox will be kept due to his versatility to play CB and FS. -> I think Teraz McCray could be a surprise to make the team due to his talent and versatility to play DE and DT.
  3. The top part is from The Sporting News Draft Magazine...the bottom part is where I explain why I think they will succeed.
  4. 1.) Andre Woodson (QB, Kentucky) - Teams do not have the patience or time to reconstruct Woodson's throwing technique and fundamentals. His footwork is bad, and he has a hitch at the top of his throwing motion, which hurts his accuracy. 2.) DeSean Jackson (WR, California) - Has an ego and will run his mouths at times. Unless the become dominant like Terrell Owens and Randy Moss, problematic receivers rarely survive in the NFL. 3.) JAMES HARDY (WR, INDIANA) - Hardy is a tall receiver with excellent hands and the athleticism to be an impact player in the NFL. However, he has been involved in major off-field issues and succeeding in the NFL usually requires maturity, character and work ethic. 4.) Fred Davis (TE, USC) - Tight Ends who lack good height often struggle to become big-time receivers in the NFL. 5.) King Dunlap (OT, Auburn) - Played with a lack of intensity and passion, which led to being benched in favor of a freshman. History has shown that most players who shut down for their senior season rarely return to their previous level. 6.) Derrick Harvey (DE, Florida) - Does not play with an aggressive mentality, and it shows in his lack of overall production. If he fails to improve his intensity, Harvey is unlikely to reach his potential in the NFL. I would say that ALL of these players went to teams that can deal with and/or fix the problems that each player has. Andre Woodson went to the Giants, who have a Franchise Quarterback and CAN be patient and take time to develop Woodson. DeSean Jackson went to the Eagles, who have Donovan McNabb and other leaders that will keep this youngster in check. JAMES HARDY went to the BILLS, who pride themselves in character and sportsmanship...he will be on good behavior. Fred Davis went to the Redskins, who have already been successful with a smaller Tight End in Chris Cooley...Davis is insurance for Cooley. King Dunlap went to the Eagles, who have churned out decent quality Offensive Linemen...he will improve. Derrick Harvey went to the Jaguars, who have a Top-Flight Defense that will make him more intense and aggressive. Does anybody think we should be worried about James Hardy? Personally, I think he is going to be an All-Pro in this league!
  5. Tommy Blake - DE - TCU (6-3, 252) http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mt...ke_tommy01.html *I read in a pre-draft magazine, that Tommy Blake was once projected as a "SUREFIRE TOP-5 OVERALL PICK!" I know he was undrafted and troubled, but has anybody picked him up and talent and athletic ability like that is VERY hard to fin...and needing a "Rotation," why have we not heard anything about us looking at him???
  6. My Mock Draft (1st Round): (Assuming NO Trades...Which there WILL be!) 1.) Miami Dolphins: OT - Jake Long - Michigan 2.) St. Louis Rams: DE - Chris Long - Virginia 3.) Oakland Raiders: RB - Darren McFadden - Arkansas 4.) Atlanta Falcons: DT - Glenn Dorsey - LSU 5.) Kansas City Chiefs: OT - Ryan Clady - Boise State 6.) New York Jets: LB - Vernon Gholston - Ohio State 7.) New England Patriots (From San Francisco): LB - Keith Rivers - USC 8.) Baltimore Ravens: QB - Matt Ryan - Boston College 9.) Cincinnati Bengals: DT - Sedrick Ellis - USC 10.) New Orleans Saints: CB - Leodis McKelvin - Troy 11.) BUFFALO BILLS: CB - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - Tennessee State 12.) Denver Broncos: LB - Jerod Mayo - Tennessee 13.) Carolina Panthers: OL - Branden Albert - Virginia 14.) Chicago Bears: RB - Rashard Mendenhall - Illinois 15.) Detroit Lions: DE - Derrick Harvey - Florida 16.) Arizona Cardinals: CB - Mike Jenkins - USF 17.) Kansas City Chiefs (From Minnesota): CB - Aquib Talib - Kansas 18.) Houston Texans: RB - Jonathan Stewart - Oregon 19.) Philadelphia Eagles: DE - Phillip Merling - Clemson 20.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: WR - Devin Thomas - Michigan State 21.) Washington Redskins: OT - Jeff Otah - Pittsburgh 22.) Dallas Cowboys (From Cleveland): RB - Felix Jones - Arkansas 23.) Pittsburgh Steelers: OT - Chris Williams - Vanderbilt 24.) Tennessee Titans: WR - Limas Sweed - Texas 25.) Seattle Seahawks: DT - Kentwan Balmer - North Carolina 26.) Jacksonville Jaguars: DE - Calais Campbell - Miami 27.) San Diego Chargers: CB - Brandon Flowers - Virgina Tech 28.) Dallas Cowboys: WR - Malcolm Kelly - Oklahoma 29.) San Francisco 49ers: WR - Desean Jackson - California 30.) Green Bay Packers: CB - Antoine Cason - Arizona 31.) New York Giants: S - Kenny Phillips - Miami 32.) Miami Dolphins: LB/DE - Quentin Groves - Auburn Buffalo Bills OTHER Picks: Round 2 #41: WR - James Hardy - Indiana Round 3 #72: TE - Martellus Bennett - Texas A&M Round 4 #114: C - Mike Pollak - Arizona State Round 4 #132: FB - Owen Schmitt - West Virginia Round 5 #147: DE - Tommy Blake - TCU Round 6 #179: CB - Jack Ikegwuono - Wisconsin Round 7 #219: QB - Josh Johnson - San Diego (OR) Dennis Dixon - Oregon Round 7 #224: RB - Jehuu Caulcrick - Michigan State Round 7 #251: C/G - Jamey Richard - Buffalo *I think Buffalo could end up trading for (CB) Lito Sheppard or (TE) Jeremy Shockey. *JP Losman could end up being sent away for a 4th round pick. Other Players I Like (By Position - In NO Specific Order): Quarterback - Sam Keller, Anthony Morelli Running Back - Thomas Brown, Justin Forsett, Ryan Torrain Fullback - Peyton Hills, Jerome Fulton, Mike Cox, Jacob Hester Wide Receiver - Malcolm Kelly, Devin Thomas, Limas Sweed, Jordy Nelson, Earl Bennett, Adarius Bowman, Jerome Simpson, Maurice Purify, Marcus Henry, DJ Hall, Paul Hubbard, Marcus Monk, Ernie Wheelwright, Mario Urrutia, Todd Blythe, Adrian Arrington, Lance Leggett, Evan Moore Tight End - Martin Rucker, Brad Cottam, Kellen Davis, Jermichael Finley, JoeJon Finley, Dustin Keller, Fred Davis, Joey Haynos, Mike Peterson, John Carlson, Jacob Tamme, Craig Stevens, Adam Bishop, Derek Fine, JB Phillips, Cole Bennett, Gary Barnidge, Jonathan Stupar, Tom Santi, Andy Boyd Offensive Tackle - Ryan Clady, Jeff Otah, King Dunlap Offensive Guard - John Greco, Branden Albert, Barry Richardson Center - Steve Justice, John Sullivan, Kory Lichtensteiger Defensive End - Calais Campbell, Derrick Harvey, Quentin Groves, Jeremy Geathers Defensive Tackle - Pat Sims, Red Bryant, Frank Okam Linebacker - Ezra Butler, Tavares Gooden, Ben Moffitt, Xavier Adibi, Geno Hayes, Dan Connor, Jordon Dizon, Erin Henderson, Ali Highsmith, Shawn Crable Cornerback - Mike Jenkins, Leodis McKelvin, Brandon Flowers, Reggie Smith, Antoine Cason, Terrell Thomas, Chevis Jackson, Aquib Talib, Patrick Lee, Justin King, Tracy Porter, Zach Bowman, Dwight Lowery, Charles Godfrey, Antwaun Molden, Glenn Sharpe Safety - Dominique Barber, Craig Steltz, Marcus Griffin, Tony Joiner, Tom Zbikowski, Nehemiah Warrick, Tyrell Johnson, Joe Fields Kicker - Brandon Coutu, Jeremy Ito, Alexis Serna
  7. I would like Pollak (I am an ASU fan) or Branch, depending on his size. I also like both of the Quarterbacks...but, I would really be happy if we picked up Xavier Adibi! I think he is going to be a STUD in the NFL, similar to DeMeco Ryans. I would rather go in another direction, like WR or TE, but if I have to pick off THIS list...those are my choices.
  8. I am just curious...do all of you Chad Johnson haters, think Lee Evans is better than he is? *I do not mean his "Antics" or anything else...I am strictly talking about talent on the football field!
  9. Chad Johnson is happy when WINNING. Chad Johnson will help us WIN...therefore Chad Johnson WILL BE HAPPY. Chad Johnson's statistics and play deserve a BIG PAY DAY. (All he wants is $20 million...that is not a lot for a top-5 WR.) Lee Evans does NOT have an ego...he would get along great with Chad Johnson. Would getting national exposure and being on Sportscenter, NFL Live, Nightly Sports Shows, Sunday/Monday Night Football...because of Chad Johnson...be a bad thing for this "Small-Market" team??? Keep him happy by paying him and improving the team (which Cincy is NOT doing)...and he will play out his contract! All he wants is to WIN...he said so himself on national TV. I DO NOT see where trading for him would be a bad thing. I am sick of the "HIGH CHARACTER" player crap. High character does NOT win football games...football PLAYERS do! Chad Johnson is a football player...and a damn good one!
  10. Ok, this is my first post on this topic. I am all for the idea of getting a "Shutdown" corner in the draft. I have a man-crush on (CB) Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. However, you do not need a Top-Flight corner in our defensive scheme. I think our defense has gotten stronger enough with the addition of (DT) Marcus Stroud, (LB) Kawika Mitchell, (DE/DT) Spencer Johnson, and (CB) Will James. (DE) Aaron Schobel is already a Pro-Bowler, (S) Donte Whitner has stepped into his own, as has (LB) Angelo Crowell. Cornerbacks Jabari Greer and Terrance McGee, while being smaller than you would like them to be, are an average tandem. (LB) Paul Posluzny IS going to be an elite player in this league. Defensive Ends Chris Kelsey and Ryan Denney are BOTH quality rotational men. Defensive Tackles John McCargo and Kyle Williams are BOTH young players on the rise. (S) Ko Simpson IF healthy, will be a very good safety. (CB) Ashton Youboty was regarded as a great prospect, he played pretty well last season when he played, and has plenty of unrealized potential. AND, last year with all the injuries, we got to see the potential and talent of such players as, Linebackers John Degiorgio and Keith Ellison, and (S/WR) George Wilson. With all this being said...I would say we are going to be a VERY GOOD defense...more likely next year, than this year. NEXT YEAR...is where you draft that STUD Cornerback, to COMPLETE your defense after it has had a year to jell. Until then, you focus on building a CORE around your offense. This is where the quote from another poster plays into what I am trying to say here... You have the makings of a very potent offense. The Offensive Line is solid and could produce two Pro-Bowlers, in Jason Peters and Derrick Dockery. We have one of THE BEST YOUNG Running Backs in the league, in Marshawn Lynch. In Lee Evans, we have a Top-12 Wide Receiver in the league. Our Quarterback Trent Edwards, BOTH of them (J.P. Losman), are young up-and-comers in the league. Although, I give the edge to Trent Edwards, I think J.P. Losman is a piece to the puzzle, in a couple ways (trade or valuable backup). Running Backs Fred Jackson and Dwayne Wright, and Wide Receivers Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed and Justin Jenkins, are all young players who could grow into certain roles on the offense. Now...the only thing I see that is missing, from giving this offense a young and potent attack, is a STUD, Top-5 Wide Receiver in the NFL. Chad Johnson is on a team that is declining. He can walk the walk, and back up his talk. 30 years old. 6-1, 192 pounds. (Plays like he is 6-2 or 6-3). Receiving Year Team G Rec Yds Avg Yds/G Lng TD 2007 Cincinnati Bengals 16 93 1,440 15.5 90.0 70T 8 2006 Cincinnati Bengals 16 87 1,369 15.7 85.6 74T 7 2005 Cincinnati Bengals 16 97 1,432 14.8 89.5 70T 9 2004 Cincinnati Bengals 16 95 1,274 13.4 79.6 53T 9 2003 Cincinnati Bengals 16 90 1,355 15.1 84.7 82T 10 2002 Cincinnati Bengals 16 69 1,166 16.9 72.9 72T 5 2001 Cincinnati Bengals 12 28 329 11.8 27.4 28 1 3 TOTAL 108 559 8,365 15.0 77.5 82 49 Those look like very nice stats to me. His attitude ABOUT WINNING, would give our team a little cockiness that you need to win in the NFL. You need to be mentally tough to win. I also think that Chad Johnson would have FUN in Buffalo, with the likes of Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans and Robert Royal...all guys who have a great sense of humor and personality, and like to have fun, while winning! I would be all for the Bills trading their 11th overall pick in this weekends draft, to Cincinnati, for (WR) Chad Johnson. Our offense would instantly get better. Our defense would establish itself this year, while our offense jelled and got better. Then next year we could put our defense over the top, with a Top-Flight Cornerback. With a dominant defense, your offense can be average, and you can still win a championship. The Bills should - 1st Round: Trade for WR Chad Johnson. (Bills 1st, for Johnson and Bengals 4th or 5th). 2nd Round: TE Martellus Bennet (Trade back into the Late 1st if we have to). 3rd Round: CB Zach Bowman (6-2, 200) High Risk/High Reward) 4th Round: FB Owen Schmitt (Next Konrad/Alstott) 4th Round: CB Dwight Lowery (6-1, 185) OR C Steve Justice 5th Round: TE/DE Kellen Davis (Can play both sides of the ball) 6th Round: DE Trevor Scott OR C Jamey Richard 7th Round: CB Jack Ikegwuonu 7th Round: QB/WR Dennis Dixon 7th Round: WR Marcus Monk You say Chad Johnson WAS a #2 WR? The numbers he put up were better than OUR #1 WR! He is still in his prime and could make this team a playoff team...look at what Randy Moss did. Sure the Patriots only gave up a 5th or 6th Rounder for Moss, but look at the numbers he put up the year or two before that...nowhere near as good as Johnson. We could still fill needs with our remaining picks, as well as trade back into the bottom of the early rounds to get a guy we like or need. He isn't worth it...blah blah blah! He is ONE OF THE BEST IN THE BUISNESS! A gameplan changing receiver ("Moron") that can put your team into the playoffs...Nah, I don't want him!
  11. I am just curious...but, why in the world would we draft Jonathan Stewart or Rashard Mendenhall? They are both running backs and we have a pro-bowl caliber running back in Marshawn Lynch who we JUST drafted, as well as two very solid back-ups in Fred Jackson and Dwayne Wright! Why would we, and why would any of you want us, to draft a running back in the first round?
  12. Oh No...No need for a fake! I am a college student, but I am 25 years old. I am at a community college working on my 2nd and 3rd degrees. (Liberal Arts, Physical Education/Sports Management, and Chemical Dependency Counseling.) I will still try to send the bottle though...what cha like? haha.
  13. You can probably drive better after a party too eh? haha, I am just busting your balls!
  14. What? Flacco is much bigger, a more prototype quarterback...and his stats are much better than Santos. Flacco had more yards, only 1 less TD, fewer ints, and he was sacked less than Santos. Flacco has also improved his performance throughout the last couple years, whereas Santos has declined. I would rather have Flacco over Santos if I was to choose...but Santos would be a decent training camp body/practice squad player.
  15. No I do not, a couple female friends of mine go there though! I would take the girls and madden, over the homework and parties though!
  16. Pete...I NEVER said that Thomas was "TOO SHORT", I actually said that he IS NOT "TOO SMALL", just not big enough for who I would want as our #2 WR. I would rather have somebody who towers over everyone else and can easily get those jump balls. ("List A") Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Plaxico Burress, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams, Braylon Edwards, Marques Colston, Brandon Marshall, Amani Toomer...just to name a few of the best wide receivers in the league, all over 6-3. Of course there is ("List B") Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Wes Welker, Anquan Boldin, Santana Moss, etc etc etc...who are all shorter receivers, but we already have our own "shorter" stud in Lee Evans. It is just my personal opinion that the majority of the dominant receivers in the NFL are very tall, which by my standards would be taller than 6-3. I would just rather have receivers from list A, than those from list B. I did not mean to offend you...I just think that Kelly, Hardy and/or Sweed, will be better receivers than Thomas, which would make them a better draft pick. I dont like the fact that Devin Thomas only had 1 solid collegiate season, and not many people had heard of him before this season...unlike Limas Sweed.
  17. I am a college student...so I am up late a lot of the time...for several different reasons! (I also did not have class today until 3pm). A.) Homework B.) Parties C.) Girlfriend D.) Just cant sleep...usually playing Madden on my ps3. Anyways...thanks for your warming welcomes! I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather!!!
  18. I would MUCH rather have Martellus Bennett than Fred Davis, and we DO NOT need another little guy at the WR position. We should really still go for Malcolm Kelly, 40 time aside, he will be a stud in the NFL. If not Kelly, then definitly James Hardy.
  19. Turk Schonert as MVP...for opening up the offense! Offense - Marshawn Lynch or Lee Evans. Defense - Paul Posluzny or Angelo Crowell. Special Teams - Roscoe Parrish or Brian Moorman.
  20. I just wanna introduce myself. My name is Shnooks and I am new to the board. I look forward to sharing my ideas and thoughts in a respectful and intelligent manner. Thank you for having me...I can't wait to meet some of you! GO BILLS!
