IMO, Woods would be a better #3. I love his blocking ability, especially when he threw a DB into another defender last season, which helped TT get open for a TD, that was awesome. But like I said, he had his share of drops and his route running was not sharp last season. Now maybe it was learning a new system, trying to get in sync with TT, the groin injury, but his route running was definitely off last season and his career has been disappointing so far in Buffalo. Like the article I posted stated, if Woods doesn't greatly improve, it's doubtful that he'll be extended here in Buffalo beyond his rookie contract. So what are your bright ideas? Just stay with who the Bills currently have at the WR position?

It's nice that you brought up Woods' pre-draft scouting report, but this is the NFL. The NFL and like any other major professional sport is about "what have you done for me lately." http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-news/2016/1/20/10796944/buffalo-bills-jim-monos-no-2-wide-receiver-robert-woods-percy-harvin "But it could also mean that the front office is not satisfied with the play of some of the team's younger options, chiefly 2013 second-round pick Robert Woods; The 23-year-old Woods, who has effectively served as the Bills' No. 2 receiver for most of the last three seasons, seems to know that he'll need to prove himself to Buffalo's coaches if he's going to stay with the team past his rookie contract, which expires after next season." Are you smoking crack? I was making a comparison to the last time the Bills has an effective #1 and #2 WR together on the team. Price injured his neck and has been retired for a while now, so why on earth would he be available to return to the NFL? IMO, I thought it was a terrible idea that the Bills extended an offer to Harvin as the Bills will be lucky to get six games out of him before he goes on IR. If they were going the FA route on a WR, they should go after Anquan Boldin as he played two years in Roman's system in SF and at age 35, could be had at a decent price.

I'm sorry that I want better than what we've been seeing from this team for so long. IMO, the Bills have not had a legitimate #1/2 combo since Moulds/Price. Their last year on the team, both WR's had over 1,200 yards receiving each. Having a legitimate #2 WR takes the pressure off the #1 WR, as well as opens up the run game. In that last season with Moulds/Price together, Travis Henry had over 1,400 yards rushing as well. If the Bills had a better option at the #2 WR position, you're looking at a possible 8-10 more TD's (which could of made the difference in winning a couple more games last year and making the playoffs), plus it would have opened up the run game even further.

Isn't about about time for a new name already?

Just keep making up excuses for your hero. It's no wonder why the Bills have been as crappy as they have been for so long as fans over value their favorites.

I'm not saying Woods injury didn't impact his play, but according to some on here, Woods always runs a perfect route, never drops a ball and is a great #2 WR and that has been far from the truth. If management/coaches felt he was a legitimate #2 WR, then why did they sign Harvin last season and make him the #2 WR? I like Woods, but he's not as good as some people on here make him out to be.

I go by results and what I see in the games, not excuses. It seems there are people that love to make up all the excuses in the world for guys like Woods, Hogan and Chandler.
-
I don't know how many times I've seen Woods run the wrong routes and have to dive backwards only to miss the ball last season along with tripping over his own feet. Woods also has not been reliable in pass catching as well as he's dropped a good share of passes as well. In case you forgot or weren't paying attention during training camp in 2014, Doug Marrone had Hogan ahead of Woods because of those reasons as well as Woods not being consistent enough.

I want a three down LB, not a one dimensional LB.

If you say so Mrs. Woods.

Mike Williams emerges -- (update: Signing with KC)

His big problem was his attitude. It seemed once EJ was benched in favor for Orton, he stopped playing. -
Woods has been too inconsistent so far and I don't feel he's the right guy to be the #2 WR. He's a great blocking WR, but he's inconsistent with his catching, his route running as he is diving back for the ball, tripping over his feet, etc... IMO, he's been a #3 WR at best so far.

NFL Execs say Bills should get moving on new stadium
Jerry Jabber replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather bring my kids to a game with a bunch of golf clappers, than a bunch of drunken idiots which we've witnessed at the one game I took them to at the Ralph. I think we witnessed four fights in the end zone section and one of the guys decked the security guard when he tried to remove him. Oh yeah, very classy and family friendly environment the Ralph is (sarcasm). -

Sorry, but everyone needs to change with the times. Businesses who change and adapt with the times succeed, while those that continue to do business the way they've always done things end up failing because another business (or businesses) come along and do things newer and better. And if the ticket prices go up, then maybe that will be a good thing as we could see more responsible people in the stands vice the druken idiots that start fights, pour beer on other fans, and other idiotic behavior that we've seen over the years at the Ralph. -

I see some fans are still upset that the Bills let go of "Alligator Arm" Chris "Can't slant for a first down" Hogan. Somehow, Hogan is going to morph into this magical WR that we've been waiting to see since training camp 2014, just because he's going to New England -

IMO, outside of Lawson, I feel our LB's can be upgraded as they were not great or game changing. -
Nigel Bradham's comments about Rex Ryan's defense
Jerry Jabber replied to gr8billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was reported during the season that there were a few players on defense that were purposely playing like garbage in hopes to have Rex fired and have Jim Schwartz brought back as the HC. If you didn't read the articles or didn't pay attention during that time...what can I tell ya? It takes time for players to learn any system, some longer than others. I liked Jim Schwartz and wanted the Pegula's to keep him, but didn't happen, so why rehash the past. Also, look at how long it took Greg Roman to figure out how to use Sammy Watkins? Does that mean Roman is a bad OC? -

So you bash my ideas, come up with one line replies, and then can't counter back. Thanks for playing! -

Hahahaha... OMG!!! This is too funny!! Blaming the owners for deconstructioning a terribly built team that was going nowhere?! The 2010-11 Sabres had an above average goalie, a bunch of 2nd-3rd line wingers and no good centers. The only thing I blame the Pegula's on was not firing Darcy Regier when they bought the team. Thanks, and I agree, we saw a big improvement on both sides of the ball, especially on defense against the Patriots in the second matchup. I do hope the trend continues upwards as well. I'm tired of every 2-4 years of going through another coaching search, so the way I look at it, give Rex all the tools he needs to be successful and see if he can get the job done here in Buffalo. We've seen what his defenses can do in Baltimore and in NY, now it's time to deliver here in WNY. -

All this debate about Jim Schwartz, Mike Pettine, Rex Ryan and now former players bashing Rex on the way out the door is just ridiculous. If you really want a true measuring stick of progress, look at how the Bills D did against the mighty Patriots in their second matchup of the season last year. Brady was getting hammered all game long, the secondary had blanket coverage on their receivers and Brady had to throw the ball away a lot in that game. IMO, that's the best I've seen the Bills D play against the Patriots in many years. The way I look at it, give Rex all the tools he needs to be successful and let's see what he can do because so far when it came up against the ultimate measuring stick in the division, he's performed better than Pettine and Schwartz. -

This is not earth shattering, new news or even a good read. It's been common knowledge for anyone that's been following the team. I wish Bradham the best of the luck in Philly.
