From Sal Capaccio (WGR550): “Been asked several times for the scenario if Tre’Davious White is out any length of time/into the regular season. Here are my thoughts: If they’re confident Tre can play Wk 1, I think Ja’Marcus Ingram makes the roster over Dane Jackson because Ingram offers more versatility. He can play outside, nickel, and dime safety. If White is going to be out a significant length of time, I think Jackson gets a spot on the roster. That doesn’t mean it would be for Ingram, specifically. It could be for him or someone else at another position. It could also lead to Tre being on IR/Return and open a spot, anyway. If White might miss a couple weeks, I think Ingram still makes the roster over Jackson, and then Jackson can be elevated from the PS for a couple games.”

The Bills have invested a ton of capital in their front seven during the McDermott/Beane era (high draft picks/Free Agents), yet the defense constantly fails them in the playoffs.

Very true!

There’s no doubt McDermott turned the team from a perennial loser to a perennial contender. I’m not sure if he’s good enough to win a Superbowl.

Heard that as well, but he didn’t look good against the Giants and sounds like he struggled today against the Bears. Hopefully it’s just due to the fact that the Bills are playing it vanilla this time of year and aren’t showing much of their plays.

Getting concerned about the Bills starting Tre White as CB2, especially with Max Hairston being injured. I’ve always liked Tre and hoped he could rebound from his injuries, but so far, the reports about Tre getting burnt regularly are getting worrisome.

Either McDermott figures out how to slow down Andy Reid’s offenses in the playoffs or the Bills fire McDermott and hire a coach that can get the Bills over the hump in the playoffs. Otherwise, if things don’t change, then the Bills w/Josh Allen won’t ever win a Superbowl, let alone make an appearance. IMO, that would be completely unacceptable!

Doesn’t help that the defense has given up on average 33 points in those playoff losses.

I remember being excited about T.O. and Lee Evans together as the top 2 WR’s. We started the season with Trent Edwards, then quickly went to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even though it was a disappointing season, T.O. made some great plays and gave us some excitement during a crappy period of Bills football.

Is McDermott good enough to win a Superbowl? While there’s no doubting him and Beane changed the Bills culture and turned the team into a winner, McDermott’s game day decisions have been highly questionable at times. Anyone that’s been watching football for a while will tell you with having a lead with 13 seconds left, you don’t kick the ball in the endzone on a kickoff, you kick it short of the goal line to take time off the clock. Also, you don’t continue to rush four players afterwards, you rush 2 or 3 and make sure the other teams star players are blanketed. When it comes to the playoffs vs the Chiefs, Andy Reid is the superior coach vs McDermott. I hope McDermott can get over that hump and bring a Lombardi trophy to Western NY.

Exactly! Especially after Beane called those guys out saying it sounded like 2018 again when they [WGR] said they should have drafted Josh Rosen. I’m sure WGR will bring all of that up 😂
