  1. Rich Gannon...he accomplished far more than Alex Smith did.
  2. I'm not sure how they could sub Williams for him when Williams would already be on the field in 95% of those situations.
  3. I have watched Dorian Williams play the last 2 games and have come away really impressed with this kid...the dude is all over the place...yes in the Jags game maybe he was a little TOO "all over the place" as he overran some runs, but he also had some fantastically athletic pass breakups too. Last game was much better and he shed blocks a few times to make tackles for short gains better than I ever remember seeing Edmunds do. I strongly believe that by the end of the year Bernard/Williams will be better than Edmunds/Milano last year as a tandem on the field, once Williams gains experience. That being said, I still think Bernard/Milano would be the best combo for them...Milano is just so good, it's crazy. Dude does everything well. I just think Williams is a better fit for what the Bills are trying to do on a down to down basis than Edmunds was and will prove to be even better once he gets more reps and experience as the season moves on. Bernard is already Milano "Lite" and has been nothing short of remarkable for us. Thoughts on this? I know it's a little bit of speculation and some high praise for Williams who we haven't seen enough of, but I think this kid has it at LB.
  4. He hasn't had a 1000 yard season yet in 4 years, but Garrett Wilson did with Zach Wilson throwing him the ball as a rookie last year and so did Chris Olave throwing with Old Man Dalton throwing him the ball. As another poster so eloquently put it...Jerry Jeudy plays more like Judge Judy.
  5. Must have also won 2 MVP's and 3 all-pro nominations because of it also. Yeah...he sucked, you are right. Gannon just got the MVP because voters felt sorry for him. He sucked too apparently.
  6. Wink Martindale coached the Giants D like he was fired up from getting thrown off as the host of Tic Tac Toe again.
  7. Bills 34 Pats 13 The only game Belichick has really stopped Allen since he has become elite has been with the help of 70 mph winds. Other than that he has basically had no answers for him. Besides slamming the phone and breaking a tablet I mean... Looks like there could be some showers and wind in the area tho...
  8. The Steelers game from last year?
  9. Get this thru your brain. McDermott is NOT getting fired after this season for any reason. Him and Beane just got extensions. They are not going anywhere.
  10. Uhh...in no place did I ever compare Davis to Samuel. Davis seems to be running the same routes that John Brown ran in this offense before he got here...deep overs/crossers, go routes and comebacks. Same way Kincaid is running mostly the same routes that Beasley was running...choice routes and being the dump off guy for Allen in the slot. And Harty is running most of the same type of routes that McKenzie is running and is the "gadget" guy. Seems like there are pre-defined roles for each receiver in this offense and what is being asked of them. Not sure why this would not be the case in other offenses too...the route concepts being ran are the route concepts being ran.
  11. You don't really seem to know much of anything to tell the truth based on this conversation and are making giant leaps to conclusions that you have no basis for defending other than "it must be this". OK, based on WHAT exactly that is factual and not some random opinion of yours? Players have roles on teams, how is it a stretch?
  12. Basically I am asking how he knows that Davis cannot run other routes versus Davis is running the routes that anyone who plays his position in the offense(X, Y, Z or whatever they call it in this offense) is running because those are the route concepts for a player at that position to run. He can only run the routes that he is supposed to run. OP is making a giant jump to conclusion that Davis cannot run other routes so they only ask him to run a few routes. I am asking how he knows that another receiver that replaced him wouldn't be asked to run those same routes because that is his role in the route concepts of the offense at that position and not be given all the other routes he isn't running.
  13. How are you so sure that Davis isn't running routes that any receiver that plays his position in this offense would be running due to the concepts they favor versus Davis cannot run those routes? The short answer is you don't, so all of this is speculation on your part. Unless you have some inside knowledge or are a fly on the wall of the Dorsey/Daboll meeting rooms. Are you suggesting he should just go out and run whatever to "prove" he can run other routes that aren't what he is being asked to do?
  14. What WR do you care about on KC? Do they even have 1? Are you claiming they aren't a SB contender?
  15. They also lived in a time without a Salary Cap or "Real" Free Agency. The only way that makes sense in today's world to do that is via drafting a WR and having rookie wage scale for 4 years and then letting them go when they reach year 5(if they aren't a #1 pick that has a 5th year option), or possibly picking up a 5th year option. Bills will need to probably pick one in the first round next year if they want someone who legitimately can fill that role and might have to move up to do so. Or trade for one again, but that's unlikely since they are already paying Diggs big money...Eagles were able to do it since they had Devonta Smith on a rookie deal and had no big $ allocated to WR at the time. Same with Dolphins trading for Hill while Waddle was on a rookie deal. Cincy has it because Burrow got hurt and they lucked out for a year and were able to draft 3rd and get Chase after having Higgins. As Beane said, I hope we don't suck enough to be lucky enough to draft a WR like Chase. However, they already have let Higgins people know they have no plans to resign him so he will be leaving after this year. The only teams with 2 high paid WR's are the Chargers(how's that look now that Williams is out for the year?) and the Bucs with Evans and Godwin...and they aren't great either.
  16. Very few teams have #2 WRs that teams specifically care about so that eliminates 90% of the teams in the NFL. Some don't even have a #1 WR that you worry about...like how delusional are people that they actually believe this should be the standard?
  17. Their points per game has taken a pretty sharp drop this year. Surprisingly it's their defense that has been playing well to help them win some of these games they might have otherwise lost.
  18. But yet he has the 2nd highest YPC in the NFL since 2020 next to MVS. There is far more to getting open downfield than speed. Then there must be a WHOLE LOT of busted coverages because he creates separation downfield a lot...far more than would be expected for simply "busted coverages". I think you desperately want to believe something that simply isn't true. He gets open downfield, not thru speed but he is deceptively fast and uses his large body to create separation at times running by players.
  19. I think you'd take a real risk of finding someone not as "explosive" in terms of downfield plays if you replaced him. Like him or not, the man averages more YPC than anyone other than MVS since 2020. He may not have blazing speed but he is effective at getting downfield in a major way.
  20. Replace him with a guy who isn't able to take the top off a defense and see what happens...you wouldn't like it. Since 2020, the only WR with 75+ catches who has a higher yards per reception is Marquez Valdez-Scantling.
  21. I mean clearly Allen is a bust. These last two games prove it!!
  22. What constitutes a "#2 WR"? Because by any metrics you choose to use, Davis is squarely in the middle of #2 WR's compared to his peers in the rest of the NFL. Was last year and is even higher this year...I mean he is #27 in receiving yards this season(#26 if we take out Kelce and only count WRs), which is above #2 levels if we are considering there are 32 #1 WR's and 32 #2 WR's on teams. Also is tied for 4th in TDs, 1 TD behind Diggs, and 11th in Successful play percentage at 66.7%. Interestingly Kincaid is the highest Bill in this category at 68.4% and is 7th. I think what the issue is, is that we see a very few teams with high level, high pick WR 2's like Philadelphia, Cincinnati and San Diego(before Mike Williams got injured) and we assume EVERY #2 WR across the NFL should be putting up those numbers, but what people don't actually realize is that MOST #2 WR's in the NFL are putting up in the range of 600-700 yards in a season, which is a bar Davis easily clears.
  23. Doug Williams was never "transcendent" nor a star at anytime during his career. He won a Super Bowl, was SB MVP and might have played a few good games here and there, but overall he was worse in Washington than he was in Tampa Bay. Never threw more than 15 TD passes with the Redskins in a season. Never was voted to the Pro-Bowl or All-Pro at any time during his career. Simply put, he played the greatest game of his life in the Super Bowl but outside of that was nothing special. Basically he wasn't even Nick Foles level. Kinda similar to Joe Namath too...everyone remembers the SB guarantee and win but his career numbers are abysmal. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WillDo01.htm
  24. Rich Gannon...was mostly bad in Minnesota, nothing special in Washington or KC, then went to the Raiders and became 2002 MVP, 4x Pro-Bowler and 2x All-Pro. Honestly very similar late career transcendence similar to Geno Smith. Smith hasn't reached that level yet and likely won't due to the number of other great QBs in the league right now, but he played very well last year. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GannRi00.htm Brett Favre was mostly a bust with Atlanta and went to Green Bay,won Super Bowl(s) and became a HOF'er and 2x MVP, 11x Pro-Bowler and 3x All-Pro. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FavrBr00.htm
