And that is why the Bills plan of disrupting Tua's first read and the timing of the offense against Miami was so successful.

Isn't Palms one of those disguised coverages that tries to show you one thing pre-snap and another with the rotation post snap? Seem to remember seeing breakdowns showing the Bills generate a lot of their INT's out of Palms. Agree with the athleticism point...you could use their athleticism against them by getting them flowing the wrong way real quick and get them out of a play faster to go back the other way.

Bernard/Williams >>> Edmunds/Milano by the end of the regular season
Big Turk replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
2 games in, Bernard had already been the best player on the field in a game for either team. Was Edmunds ever that in any game in 5 years? There is also this... -
Don't think anyone should be surprised at Cook's higher YPC on gap runs...Bills have ONLY been consistently successful running with gap scheme for years. At least this year they didn't try to force zone down the OLine's throat and have been mostly gap, although perhaps some of the struggles the last few weeks running have been from attempting more zone runs?

Bernard being a wash with Edmunds is pretty laughable. -
Didn't think it would be that important, but clearly it was. That's why they play the games on the field and not on paper.

He is a great twitter follow for this, btw...

nice. Did he say anything else about the Harris injury? Daboll didn't know every answer to the test that he could give the DC with Miami tho. Wink Martindale was coaching D against us like he just got kicked off Tic Tac Dough.

I've had what I can only imagine was similar to turf toe and it hurt so bad I couldn't even put any pressure on it to walk...couldn't even imagine trying to run and play football on something like that.

Baltimore ALWAYS have tons of injuries and former players have BLASTED their training staff on social media over the past 2 years for their rehab/training protocols which they claim get them injured more frequently and end up making them get hurt worse by trying to rush them back. Also were voted the worst training staff in the NFL by players so that's not nothing either. Injury management/prevention is definitely a thing that can be controlled to a larger degree than most people think. Not the obvious serious injuries like tears and freak plays where someone rolls up on a player, etc, but in terms of making sure a slight injury doesn't turn into a moderate injury and a moderate injury doesn't turn into a season-ending injury, etc, it definitely can be and some teams do a far better job of that than others in terms of prioritizing treatments, type of treatments, rest days, etc.
-
Perhaps that's why the 1-2 game injuries don't turn into the 3-4 game injuries or 6-8 game injuries like other teams have after they try to play hurt and injure it worse?

Other teams lose plenty of crucial starters too...Look at San Fran for instance. Bills did have 4th or 5th most DVOA lost to starters last year, so they were relatively high on that list, but 49ers lost their starting QB...TWICE! Imagine the Bills losing Josh, replacing him with Kyle, then losing him and replacing him with Barkley and STILL going to the Championship Game. Mind boggling how Shanahan's offense makes QB's almost irrelevant.

You realize BY FAR this team has the fewest Man Games lost to injury in the NFL over his tenure, right? Like I am talking about 2nd place is not even in the rearview mirror on a long straight road if you want a driving analogy. People simply don't understand how many players are injured on other teams...far more than on the Bills. Last year the Bills had 140 man games lost to injury, 4th lowest in the NFL. Tennessee had almost 350 by comparison! Year before that a team had over 400! Every year under McD Bills have been top 5 fewest man games lost, with 140 being the MOST they have ever had...usually its between 100-120, including least in the NFL twice and under 100 once. We think injuries were bad last year and by comparison to previous Bills teams under McD they were...but compared to the rest of the NFL they are still very much far better off.

Bernard/Williams >>> Edmunds/Milano by the end of the regular season
Big Turk replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not comparing them individually, I am comparing them combined. Bernard/Milano is by far the best combo if we could have it. I am simply saying that by the end of this year, this combo will be better than Edmunds/Milano last year...mostly because I think both players will be better than Edmunds by that point. Must not be watching games since he has been awful and the Pats have the 31st ranked O in both pass AND run. Their OLine might be as bad as the Giants. -
Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
Big Turk replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why would you expect Von to look the same after he hasn't played for a year and is coming off an injury that typically takes guys at least 6-7 weeks of playing to start looking better? Your own completely unrealistic expectations is causing the issue there not Von. They can lose a lot because McD's scheme is designed to limit the impact of those losses. See last year as exhibit A. Far less than most people think actually. And that is almost always the case when the games are actually played. Yes...those 9 points they scored were impressive. -

Not the worst injury report we've seen. -
Bernard/Williams >>> Edmunds/Milano by the end of the regular season
Big Turk replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
You mean their 31st ranked run and pass offense. Yes...huge challenge it would seem. Watch other games much? You know that players do improve typically in their rookie years as time goes on right? Usually pretty massively. That's why I specifically said end of the season. -
Bernard/Williams >>> Edmunds/Milano by the end of the regular season
Big Turk replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think Williams will reach Milano's level either, I just think the Bernard/Williams combo will be better by the end of this season than the Edmunds/Milano combo from last year...but not as good as the Bernard/Milano combo we saw this season. -
Week 7, Bills v. Cheats - Predict the Score
Big Turk replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is sounding like the Browns 6-3 win against the Bills where Derek Anderson went 2/17 passing yet still did enough to get the Dub against us.
