  1. This seems to shed more light on it... "One club executive estimated the cost of a premium has increased around 30% to 40% in the past five years. Per insurance industry sources, if a club wanted to insure $40 or $50 million of a contract, it would cost them somewhere between $1 or $2 million per year. The Niners' 10-year total in end-of-year adjustments is $54.3 million, double the second-place team's total. This number isn't only insurance credit, but representative of other savvy cap hacks that benefit teams when players get hurt, such as paying salary in the form of per-game roster bonuses. Philadelphia's $19.1 million over 10 years is good for sixth." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41274295/nfl-insurance-policies-star-players-aaron-rodgers-tua-tagovailoa-jared-goff-joe-burrow-christian-mccaffrey Allen makes the list for top insured players - Mahomes is likely in there somewhere but the value of the insurance isn't specified in his contract so it can't be used in the chart below:
  2. Yeah...it's not at all.
  3. Who is going to trade for a kicker on that contract for 3 more years? Where do people come up with this stuff? Another Madden GM?
  4. The update is both are out for Monday's game. Terrel is out multiple weeks and haven't decided whether to IR him or not. Probably waiting til last possible moment to decide to see how he is recovering and give them the best timeline from trainers at that point they can get. I don't know if the deadline is Saturday still or if they get til Sunday due to it being a Monday night game. IMHO from the pics in the locker room where he is embracing and hugging rather forcefully with that arm after the game and no sling, it's likely about the least serious pec strain you can have which is a good thing. Johnson I am assuming they believe is sooner than 4 weeks because they didn't IR him when they had the chance last week prior to the game.
  5. Could also be a big week for Cook catching the ball...he will likely be the biggest mismatch against man coverage downfield.
  6. Will all your rowdy friends be there on Monday Night?
  7. Also one of the all-time Classic PBP moments after the game ended: "Madden is on the field... He wants to know if it's real... They said 'Yes!' Get your big butt outta here! He does! There's nothing real in the world anymore!" 😂😂😂
  8. No ideas why the Bills aren't bringing in some of those good ex-USFL kickers...Aubrey is one of them and has missed 2 FGs in his career...
  9. "Blue on White, for Monday Night!" Got a nice ring to it, don't it?? Well...maybe not considering their record wearing them on Monday Night 😂
  10. You mean a player like this? Must have been the old "Bobby Wagner" audible that left him confused 😂 Side note... Ed Oliver at the 24 second mark is an all-time classic random Bills moment 😂😂
  11. Maybe Denver or Seattle? The only thing Sauce has been good at is holding this year. If they awarded All-Pro votes for the DB who gets away with holding the most he would be it this year. He has been getting away with murder on some of those plays. He also has been getting cooked by WRs...watched both Jet games and he hasn't looked good either game.
  12. It's only within the last 2 minutes of the half to prevent an intentional play like the "Holy Roller" that the Raiders won on from happening again and on 4th downs. "Fourth down or last two minutes If the offense fumbles the ball forward on fourth down or in the last two minutes of a half, only the fumbling player can recover the ball and advance."
  13. If there is a consolation prize, they were able to bring Hunt back who was highly prouductive with them and only got released due to trouble with the law and getting caught on video doing bad stuff...which seems pretty common for KC. Wouldn't be surprised to see him tear it up. He can still play I am sure, and he knows the offense well and is a great fit. I mean his WR production last year was not great...no receiver had 1000 yards, not even Kelce.
  14. Hahaha...yeah it took me a lot of tries to consistently hit the right part of the ball to get lift and avoid that. I played soccer for a long time and the strike point on a soccer ball versus a football is completely different.
  15. His foot placement is halfway past the ball itself which is a pretty large overstep, I mean that's just terrible for a professional kicker to make that kind of gaffe...almost no chance of the ball going straight at that point. I don't know if he lengthened his steps on approach or didn't set up properly at the start...typically it's some variation of two big steps back and one to two smaller steps sideways--each kicker has what they are comfortable with and usually once they have a system in place, they don't change it. When you are experimenting with a new system or some sort of change to your setup this is that is the kind of stuff that happens because you haven't practiced it enough to be 100% consistent with it. This is a clip I found that demonstrates where "normal" foot placement is on kicks...typically your toe is lined up with the back of the ball, which then allows you to open up your hips and have your other leg act almost like a "swinging gate" thru the ball.
  16. Bad QBs tend to make the OLine look far worse than it actually is.
  17. McDonald's style? He deserves a break today 😂
  18. Hold up a second...as Allen would say, "When he does something really good, we call him 'Himbo'" He is definitely Himbo after that performance 😂
  19. Interesting side note...not sure if it has been brought up yet in the thread as I haven't read thru all of it. Jags have lost their last 7 regular season games going back to last year while the Bills have won their last 7. Literally two teams going in opposite directions over that time.
  20. Strong statement in week 2.
  21. Seriously? Do people not learn from other instances of hiring random sports reporters to either be the coach or GM? Jeff Saturday with the Colts? Mike Mayock with the Raiders? Just because he went to Bonaventure and graduated doesn't make him fit to run the basketball operations. Mind boggling. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nba-insider-adrian-wojnarowski-leaving-espn-to-take-over-as-gm-of-st-bonaventures-mens-basketball-team-150237562.html
  22. Fins have the oldest in the NFL don't they?
  23. Or that they didn't have a John Brown type needed to be a complete passing attack
  24. Stafford is just old at this point...in his prime he was unquestionably better than any of those names you mentioned. Regardless, I don't think you are going anywhere in the playoffs with any of these QBs...Stafford mainly because of his age, not ability as he obviously won a SB once he escaped that iteration of Detroit
  25. He is in the media. They are the ones voting, not the players.
