If last years Draft was any indication then I would have to disagree...The Bills made zero effort to hide their love for Spiller, even though half the world thought there was no way they would go that way because it was not a need...If Buddy was so coy he could have completely blindsided the NFL with the Spiller Pick. And as it turned out no one was really surprised by the time they took him...I just don't see Buddy or Chan being the type that wants to play these "smokescreen" Games...When they say they like a Kid you can bet your bottom dollar they mean it...They are not going to volunteer much info, but if you ask them they shoot as straight as they can without giving up exactly what they are going to do...

At this point in Charlotte it would be a HUGE surprise if Newton does not go #1 Overall...I'd say if you polled 10 people in this City 9 would say they fully expect Newton to be the Pick...

I will give you credit for one thing...It's the best possible plan to land Andrew Luck...Problem is Fitz is just good enough to pull out one more Game than some other Team that totally sucks and the Bills are right back here next year...Picking 3rd-10th with no Franchise QB and no Luck...If you know what I mean... I'll trust Gailey and Nix on this I guess...But they better hope Gabbert really sucks if they pass on him at #3 or it will likely be their ticket out of town...We'll see soon enough how it all plays out...

Exactly... Like I said above it's REAL simple...IF Gailey and Nix feel Gabbert is a Franchise guy it's a no-brainer Pick for them...They'll be up there with that card in half-a-heartbeat...

I think there's no question they like Gabbert a lot...Well enough to make him the Pick at #3 Overall? Who knows...But they like him a lot...That's obvious...

I think those who are writing Mallett off as some kind of one legged country-bumpkin who is going to have a hard time figuring out what sideline his team is on, and even a harder time running to that sideline, are definitely going to be surprised in time...They're going to find out exactly what VERY good SEC Defenses did the past two years...The Kid can play and he's got rare...REALLY rare arm strength...And if you protect him, he can make throws you can't even imagine... There is not going to be a QB for a long, long time with an arm picture perfect made for Buffalo weather the way Mallett's is...I'm not saying he's a shoe-in because it's going to take the right Coach and the right situation for him to excel...But if that happens he's going to be pretty good...Given the right situation and the right Team he's definitely not going to be a joke if you have to play him twice a year... Mallett may very well be boom or bust, but that boom is going to be sonic if it happens...

If Nix and Gailey are truly high on Gabbert he will be the Pick...Period, end of story...They're not going to Draft any Defensive Player ahead of a QB they think will be a Franchise guy in a year or two... If the Bills pass on Gabbert, they simply don't think he's going to be a Franchise guy...Assuming Newton and Dareus are gone, if Miller is the pick, we'll all know exactly what they really think about Gabbert...

Totally agree with this point...And it makes me wonder what Chan and Buddy discuss on this very subject...I'd LOVE to hear the conversations...Because you know Chan wants a top guy who can do it all...What Offensive Coach of his caliber wouldn't? Granted he's the HC...But does anyone think he's not trying to sell the heck out of a Top QB Prospect ASSUMING he likes the guy a ton?

Round #1 - Blaine Gabbert - QB Round #2 - Kyle Rudolph - TE Round #3 - Sam Acho - OLB

I don't think Arizona will go QB in round #1 UNLESS Gabbert is there...That's pretty much what Kurt Warner said last night on NFL Network...And I'm guessing he's got a little insight into that situation...So if The Bills want Gabbert they're probably going to sit and take him at #3...

Also found it interesting that Modrak basically said what Mike Mayock said the other day about Gabbert's numbers this past Season...Modrak hinted in a nice way that Gabbert did not get much help this past year...Mayock was less kind to his Missouri teammates...

Those wins came at the beginning of the Regular Season...Playoff Football is a whole different level...Maybe a level and a half by the time you get to the Championship Game...I know Fitz played well at Baltimore in his 1st start after the bye...But IMHO no way Fitz wins 2 Playoff Games vs. Baltimore and the Jets if he's QBing that Pittsburgh Team...Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't see it...

I don't think you'll have much to worry about...I'm in Charlotte, and at this point I think it's going to be a shock to this City if they don't take Newton #1 Overall...It seems to be a forgone conclusion...

This is tough because ultimately Ralph is definitely to blame...He hired the dunces... But IMHO the direct reason The Bills are in as bad shape as they are today is due to the Levy/Jauron debacle...Not only were those two almost completely clueless when it came to talent evaluation, they allowed a Scouting Staff to develop that would recommend players like Whitner, Maybin, McLovin, etc., over far more deserving Prospects...I do realize that in the end it was Jauron breaking any potential ties...That was the way Levy set it up...But they also insisted these 1st Round Picks represented a consensus between GM, HC, and the Scouting Department...Think about the incompetence it takes for all those supposed Football minds to agree that Donte Whitner will be a better Pro than Ngata!!! Or that Maybin will be better than Matthews! That's SO ridiculously bad I have a hard time blaming the old man...There's no way you can foresee that kind of ineptitude by men who have dedicated their lives to Pro Football...Just no way...

Game by Game Fitz did do pretty well last Season...Outside of that Pats Game he did not play very well vs. KC, Chicago, or Minnesota...He was up and down in some other Games...His stat line was not great vs. Pittsburgh either, but we all know it should have been better... I still think though, at this point, it's just as easy to assume Fitz comes back down to earth than it is to project improvement...His 81.8 QB Rating was a full 10 points higher than any of his previous years, and he had started 23 Games prior to 2010...Most of The Bills Offensive talent was perceived to be at RB last Season...And our QB play before Fitz got in there was terrible...So opposing Defenses were geared up to stop the Run, and daring Fitz to beat them....And he did just that quite often...We'll see what happens in 2011...My guess is The Bills will be able to Run the Ball better initially as Defenses will be FAR more aware of Fitz's strengths and will be committed to shutting him down...And that's not necessarily a bad thing unless The Bills get behind... I hope Fitz can continue to improve because no matter what The Bills do at QB for the future he's going to be the guy in 2011...But I'm not going to assume he improves necessarily...The last Game he started was at Home vs. one of the worst Pass Defenses in the league (statistically) and he was pretty awful...So we'll see...

I remember a NFL Network Film session Mayock did on Maybin where he said he had MAJOR concerns about whether or not he could hold up vs. the Run in the NFL...I'm pretty sure during that segment Mayock said he would not take Maybin in the 1st Round...Mayock is not 100% either...But he's the best in the business...
