  1. That's just it though...Can he play LB? While the body-type may fit, some Scouts don't believe the ability does...Even a 3-4 LB has to cover some time...Plus, I have not seen much film on Maybin admittedly, but just yesterday I heard the guys on The NFL Network say he can't play the Run at all right now...I'm sure he can get better at it, but how much better? If The Bills are going to Draft a Project DE/Pass Rusher at #11 I'd prefer Ayers...He's already the prototypical size and has a ton of raw ability...He's also pretty decent vs. The Run...If they want a LB I'd prefer Cushing, though I think #11 is too high for him... We'll see soon enough...
  2. Agreed... I'm in favor of keeping Peters if at all possible...But every day that passes I feel that is less likely...It does seem like the holdout last Season left The Bills VERY bitter despite the Company line when Peters returned...It also seems to Me (and it's JMO) that Peters (or maybe it's JP's Agent) is a bit pissed off that The Bills did not step up and make him the highest paid LT the minute he made a Pro Bowl...I could be wrong, but it's just the feeling I get... I think those who feel this is just a normal negotiation, or that these ploys are always done...well...I think those Folks are kidding themselves...I think there is a TON of bad blood behind the scenes in this situation and I think both sides have dug in their heels...I just don't see a middle ground because I don't think either side even wants to consider a middle ground...So if that's the case (and I know that's a BIG if), Trade him and lets move on already...
  3. That's what My dreams are made of... Yes...It's sad...But nonetheless...
  4. I pretty much agree... I mean...Sully can be a downer...No question about it...But I respect his opinion...Because even though the delivery can be a bit harsh, when it's all said and done his points are usually valid...And there is a degree of thought that goes into them... This AM on WGR Sully's main point seemed to be that if in fact these Guys were not out and about after 2 AM, these problems would likely subside...Now...I'm not sure how realistic that may be...But nonetheless it's probably correct...He even said He felt for these Athletes that they should have to give up some freedoms...So I don't feel like Sully was all that hard on Whitner and the rest...It's really just common sense he's asking for... These guys should be smart enough to know how to stay out of trouble...If I could do it in My youth ANYONE can do it...
  5. I'm guessing Orakpo, Maybin and Ayers are all high on The Bills Board... I just hope one of the 3 lands in Buffalo...
  6. Well it's a good thing the capitol letter police were here... I do it on purpose...It's My style...It's most definitely incorrect...And I could not possibly care less if You don't like it...
  7. I'll keep saying it till I'm Red, White and Blue in the Face... ...If The Bills take Maybin, Orakpo, or Ayers at #11 I'll be thrilled...I prefer Ayers, but I think any of those 3 would be a tremendous help to Our Defense...Even as Rookies...
  8. There is none... The Bills have had some bad luck lately...Though I admit this is not exactly a group of do-gooders anymore either...The Ko Simpson thing was drunken stupidity...Marshawn is VERY immature and needs to grow the **** up...I think He will now...It sounds to Me like Whitner was trying to get His Cousin out of a potentially life threatening situation...I have to say that if My Cousin was headed for trouble with Guys who had Guns I would try to get Him the hell out too...Unfortunately for Donte it was the Cops who were trying to hold Him back...But still...He acted out enough to get stun-gunned...I'm sure He would handle it differently if it all happened over again... It's not just The Bills Organization...These are not really bad guys as much as they are dumb and immature at times...As much as I disliked the Whitner Pick, and I'm still not a big Fan, I think He is a decent Guy...Just made a mistake in a panic that's all...Thank God no one got shot...
  9. Not sure it's hype at all..It's coming from serious Football Scouts...It's not Media generated either...He dominated the Sr. Bowl and played REAL well against a LT who will probably be chosen in the Top 10 of this Draft...It's not hype...The Kid has only scratched the surface and He's the only true 4-3 DE in the 1st Round of this Draft...
  10. It's looking more and more like The Bills will be choosing between Maybin, and Ayers if they want a DE/Pass Rusher (still hard for Me to believe Orakpo will be around at #11)...Should be interesting...To be honest if Buffalo gets Maybin, Orakpo, or Ayers I will be happy...I prefer Ayers though...
  11. And this was a big projection...He did not say "I like the Kid. I think He's a 1st Rd. Pick." He said Ayers would be the best Defensive Player from this Draft in 2-3 Years...That's saying something IF He's right because it looks like Ayers will not go in the Top 10, and He'll likely be the 4th Defensive Player taken (behind Curry, Raji, and Orakpo) ...I'm not saying Mayock will be right either...I am saying He's does not make comments like that unless He means it...And IF He's right, and Ayers ends up a Buffalo Bills DE, it would be a HUGE get at #11 Overall... We'll see soon enough...
  12. If The Bills take a CB anytime in the 1st 4 Rounds I will projectile vomit... I don't care who it is or what the value is this Team Needs help in the trenches (including the TE Position) a MILLION times more than they Need CB, or Secondary help for that matter...Plus OLB is a bigger Need... It's interesting that Trent Dilfer recently blamed The Bills 08 collapse on their lack of talent on both Lines...He basically said Teams that shrink in the 2nd Half of any Season do so because they don't have the Bigs...and The Bills don't have the Bigs... McKelvin, Corner, Wendling, Whitner, Youboty, and Simpson on the Roster from the last 3 Drafts alone...They have McGee, Scott played a TON in 08, and Florence was added...If The Bills want to go DB from Rounds 5-7 I'm all for it...They should be able to find one there...I'm sure there's a UFA or two left that are worth a look...More will be Cut after the Draft, etc... If they do take a DB early he better be the next coming...I just don't see it...But I also don't trust Dead Dick...
  13. What Mayock and Davis were basically saying is that Ayers will EVENTUALLY be the best DE in this Draft...That would include Pass Rush as well of coarse...I'm not sure He's going to be a monster right away getting to the QB, but He would have some advantages in Buffalo assuming Schobel is back healthy...He'll be a Rookie and He'll have to earn extra attention...As long as He's applying SOME pressure from the Left Side on Passing Downs He's a HUGE Upgrade already for The Bills... Buffalo desperately Needs impact level talent on Defense, and especially at DE...I think with a Scout like Mayock saying Ayers has star potential, one thing is certain...Ayers immediately becomes part of the discussion at #11 Overall...The thing I worry about is passing on Ayers and seeing Him reach Mayock's prediction on another Team...That would be brutal...Because IMHO The Bills #1 Need is a 3-Down DE...We'll see soon enough...
  14. Well...Mayock and Davis explained the lack of Sacks as a Sr. in this way...They said Ayers has VERY little experience and got a lot of attention on a Defense where He was clearly the best Player on the Field...They said He improved greatly each Year...Basically they believe in the NFL He won't get as much attention first of all, and secondly He'll continue to improve... When Mayock makes a statement like that about a DE with only 3 Sacks in a Season...well...He HAS to know He's going WAY out on a limb about the Kid...One thing is certain...Mike Mayock thinks Ayers is the real deal...No question about it...
  15. Just mentioned this in another Thread and thought it was worthy of it's own... Mike Mayock said yesterday..."In two to three years Robert Ayers will be the best Defensive Player from this years draft." He went on to explain that Ayers has improved each year and that his upside is endless...Then Charles Davis chimed in with His knowledge of His Alma Mater and Ayers and pretty much agreed Mayock's prediction was possible... Thoughts?
  16. This is a direct quote by Mike Mayock yesterday on NFL Network...And it kinda floored Me mainly because this is the Kid I've wanted The Bills to Draft ever since I watched the Sr. Bowl Practices...Anyway...Here it is... "In two to three years Robert Ayers will be the best Defensive Player from this years draft." Now, Mayock said He knew He was going out on a limb with this one...But He has his reasons...And I think they are all VERY sound...Also Charles Davis, a Tennessee Grad himself, chimed in on why Ayers best Football is ahead of him... Anyway...I want Ayers...
  17. Vintage Mort!!! "When I look at the Bills right now...and the TO thing... it's desperation..." Mort NEVER lets us down...
  18. I was just going to say the same thing...This is REALLY getting to be a joke...Even when they have come forward and paid a Player that deserved it...i.e. #83...It seemed as if it was at the last possible moment... They are CLEARLY trying to low ball Jason Peters...And I'm not saying it's a bad thing necessarily...But common sense would tell You if you REALLY wanted Peters to remain a Bill then the time to extend Him was last year...Wait a Year and the price will go up...It's just common sense...I don't understand what they are thinking... And now they are probably looking to get out on the cheap for a Kid who is arguably their most valuable Player...The Guy does everything they ask Him to do...And He does it all quite well...Freddy is a KEY piece to this thing...By not paying Him I think The Bills risk sending the worst possible message to that Locker Room...Because Freddy is a special kind of Player...I'm quite sure the other Players recognize that... Oh well...
  19. Agreed... I know I'm one Bills Fan that doesn't want to sit through another Holdout by our Starting LT...I imagine the FO feels the same... I've been saying all along I don't think Peters wants to be here UNLESS He's the Top Paid LT in the NFL...And I don't think The Bills have any intention of paying Him that way...So...Unfortunately it looks like we lose Peters via Trade in the next few weeks before The Draft...It's not the outcome I was hoping for...But it seems to be the way this thing is headed no question about it...
  20. I think You're pretty much dead on...Another factor is Peters age and the lack of Pre-NFL experience He has at OT...Any Team interested is looking at Peters and thinking...Here is this super-athletic Kid who is already VERY good at one of the 3 most important Positions on any NFL Team...He figures to get even better, and has at least another 5-7 Years left...Folks are getting WAY too carried away with Peters Play Last Season...He certainly was not bad...And it's still a year without a Training Camp and He's obviously not happy about His Contract situation...NFL Teams know this...If they like JP they are going to excuse Last Season somewhat... All it takes is one...One Team to fall in love with Jason Peters and they will pony up that 1st and 3rd...But honestly, if I ran The Bills FO there is no way I Trade Peters for anything less...He's a 2 time Pro Bowl LT who is only 27 Years Old...If I can't get at least a 1st this Year and something more (a 3rd this Year or a 2nd next) I let Him sit...The Bills have next to no Pro-Bowl calibre Talent...They cannot afford to devalue Peters on this Roster...They don't HAVE to Trade Him...If anyone wants a 27 Year Old Pro Bowl LT they need to step up, or nevermind...
