  1. That HAS to be the funniest one I've read around here in a while...That's hilarious...
  2. He was like 6-2-210 coming out...I've never heard a single word about him moving to TE and even though he's a decent sized WR he would be WAY short and small for TE... I don't understand why his name is coming up as a possible TE? Because someone said he looked big at these workouts? Did he grow 3 inches?...
  3. Mayock has not been high on Newton since the get-go basically...He was getting frustrated at The Combine when it was Tim Tebow 2.0 times 1000 with Newton...At one point, I think it was on TE/O-Line Day, Mayock got noticeably upset on the set when Eisen kept steering the conversation towards Newton...Throughout this process Mayock has been critical of Newton, even having Jake Locker ahead of him on his Big Board up until a couple weeks ago...MM is MUCH higher on Gabbert as a Pro Prospect QB than Newton...And he has been consistently conservative when it comes to projecting Newton's future as an NFL Signal Caller...I promise you if Newtron goes #1 to Carolina he'll have a few choice words to say on Draft Night...Just seems to me he's not exactly on Team Cam...
  4. Rudolph for sure... Can The Bills PLEASE get a top TE someday?
  5. You are 100% right about one thing... A LOT of people will disagree with that...
  6. Dilfer? He laughed too...There are others...But I hear what you're saying...I'm no Deion on TV Fan either...Though I do think he's better than Michael Irvin...
  7. If you're driving what?...
  8. No, I said he was laughing about Fitz...And then I said "experts..." The quotations were purposeful...And he may not be an expert on QB's...But he sure as hell is an expert on how to Defend against them...Don't let his act fool you....The guy knows Football...He's not an idiot...He just acts like one sometimes...And I would definitely take his opinion over a lot of Bills Fans...Not all, but a lot...
  9. Exactly... It's SO hard for some Bills Fans to grasp this because we have Drafted SO poorly and have so many needs it's really insane...But if you're going to gamble do it at the QB Position...Because you're gambling on greatness...Von Miller could become a Pro Bowl Player and still not have close to the impact Gabbert would have IF he became a Top 10 NFL QB (and I know that's a BIG if)...It's like a free ticket to the Playoffs 4 out of every 5 years...QB is King...That's all there is to it...
  10. That's completely false...It was the NFL Draft Advisory Committee-thing that made Gabbert's choice to come out an easy one...He would still be thought of as a Top 10 QB and Cincy would be REAL happy right now...
  11. Right...Nobody knows anything unless they agree with you...And you're comparing Fitz to Players who accomplished WAY more than Fitz has shown he can so far...But that's OK...You're on record...You love the guy...That's cool... I know plenty about The Bills...Have not missed a single Down of Football in 20 years now...I don't think Fitz is the answer...These are ex Players who have forgotten more abut NFL Football than most of us know...They may not see every Down...But they don't have to...They played the Game at a high level...They just know...Like I said they could be wrong...But the overriding opinion on Fitz is he's not good enough to be a Franchise/Playoff caliber QB...Only Fitz is going to be able to change that opinion of him...But you can't deny the general feeling in the NFL Community is that Fitz is not good enough...That opinion is there and it's prevalent...You would be denying the truth... We'll see who is right in time...I'm not saying Fitz can't be the man...I'm only saying I doubt it...And if I'm wrong I'll have PLENTY of company...
  12. Gabbert is definitely a better pure athlete than Bradford...Bradford was awfully accurate in College though...Much more so that Gabbert...I know talent around them had something to do with it, but I still think Bradford is the better pure Passer...Arm strength is probably about the same...Right now I would take Bradford for sure...But in a couple years who knows?
  13. It's all about potential...As a pure athlete he's exactly what you're looking for at QB...He's exactly what Chan is looking for as an athlete at QB...He's a perfect fit for Chan...He's REAL smart...REAL smart...He loves Football...He's gone to great lengths to talk to other QB's in the league...He knows what is expected of him up front and he's ready for it...He's a Leader... Now all that being said he's a QB and all the potential and smarts in the world does not really guarantee success...But I think from the standpoint of what attributes you look for in an NFL Prospect QB Gabbert is a fairly safe bet to be a decent Player...We'll see though...Alex Smith went #1 overall...Who really knows?
  14. No offense to you, but some Bills Fans still see him as a back-up caliber Player because so do NFL experts and Hall Of Fame caliber Players. Some of whom who PLAYED against Fitz...Did you see what Willie McGinest and Trent Green said just last night on NFL Network about Fitz? And none of these ex-players are taking anything away from what Fitz did last year...They admit he played very well at times...McGinest said he's not a bad QB at all...But as a Franchise/Face of the Organization QB...Not so much... McGinest said "You're talking about who you are going to put your Franchise behind, and it's not Ryan Fitzpatrick...I like the guy, I played against him, I think he's a good Player...But I don't think The Bills are ready to say hey, we're going to open the gates, put everything behind you...You have two talented guys in the Draft that can change that...That the Bills can be proud of...It's a QB driven league...I think they want to go with somebody that is going to get everyone excited. And that's a big time QB...That's one of these guys coming out in the Draft..." McGinest and Green were referring to Newton and Gabbert btw... I saw it written here numerous times by Bills fans that the Presser was indication enough that The Bills would not take a QB at #3...The guys on the NFL Network completely disagreed with that and took the opposite stance...The comment by Buddy about this being the right time to take a QB was proof enough for them...Why? Because they don't believe The Bills have a Franchise QB...They don't believe in Fitz...Almost no one outside of Buffalo does...I've seen Deion Sanders and others on the NFL Network laugh when posed with the Fitz question...They LAUGH!!! Now granted all these "experts" could be wrong...But I'm telling you there is almost no one outside of some Bills Fans and some Folks over at OBD that believe Fitz is a long term solution at Starting QB for ANY NFL Team...So don't just point to Bills Fans because it's not just Bills Fans...It's the CLEAR majority of Folks who get paid to cover NFL Football as well...And I imagine it's those opinions that are shaping some Bills Fans' opinions...
  15. We'll see...I'm not going to try to hide the fact that I'm not a big believer in Fitz cause I'm not...Too many INT's and forcing the ball in...The ball slipping out of his hand stuff...He should have had a few more TD's last year but by all rights he also should have had a few more INT's...He's fearless but a little too fearless at times......I wish he was a couple inches taller, etc...Same stuff most Fitz critics will say... But IF The Bills go the Fitz route I sure as hell hope he does continue to improve and becomes the next Brees...That would truly be awesome...But I'm not counting on it...In fact I think it will end up being somewhere in the middle...He may improve some, but not enough to get The Bills where they need to go...And in a couple years he'll be gone, or the back-up...But we'll see I guess...If they take Miller over Gabbert that is showing a tremendous amount of confidence in Fitz...We'll see next Thurs...
  16. Well that's a serious limb you've gone out on there... But regardless of whether or not I agree...I do hope you're right about Fitz...But I just don't see how a Career 58% Passer is going to turn into the next Brees, who is one of the most accurate Passers in the history of the NFL...But again I hope you're right...Sometimes miracles do happen...
  17. The Bills must be awfully desperate for a TE when TBD Posters are trying to turn 215 lb WR's into TE's on consecutive days...
  18. Whatever dude...Did you even read the update? Your anti-Mallett campaign and million slow jokes are duly noted...I never said it was the Panthers Organization necessarily either...Nor did I say it was anything other than the feeling I get...But please continue to bash the Kid for no apparent reason other than he's the latest in the line of guys you incessantly mock around here... And I'm guessing even as slow as he is he could beat you in a foot race...
  19. Well there you go... I know from experience there are plenty of Charlotte Restaurants that can make you sick as a dog... Just saying...
  20. Well...It has been hinted... Gailey on Miller
  21. I saw Gabbert on that new NFL Network Show where Mooch put him up on the Board and the Kid is REAL sharp...But everyone knows that about him already...The short clip I saw of Gabbert on Gruden's Show was kind of a joke...Just Gruden trying to get laughs and showing a clip of Payton Manning coming away from center on Play Action about a half a million times...It sucked...I mean...I understand the point he was trying to make...But we all get it Coach...Move on...
  22. Honestly I've been getting that feeling about Mallett since before his Jr. Year...And I'm not big on conspiracy theories or anything like that...What I do know about Mallett is, based on pure ability and just raw potential, he is a sure fire Top 15 Pick in any NFL Draft...It seems to me like some Teams are doing everything they can to push him into the 2nd Round...I still don't think it's going to work but we'll see soon enough... Also interesting that I live in Charlotte, listen to Sports Talk here religiously, and did not here anything about this till today...You think someone would have called in a Ryan Mallett out-on-the-town-partying-sighting...But who knows...
  23. Based on what Modrak hinted yesterday and what Mike Mayock has come right out and said Gabbert did not have a ton of help last Season...Mayock basically said his O-Line was brutal... No...You are definitely not the only one... Though I do think the fact that Gailey is the HC will help him from reverting too far...
  24. Exactly...Something the completely clueless, deaf, or Fitz-ball-washers around here refuse to admit...How anyone could watch that Presser yesterday, or listen to the quotes out of Nix, Gailey, and Ralph this past year and NOT think QB is at very least a legit possibility at #3 is well beyond my imagination... How many Games did Modrak see Gabbert live just this past Season? You think there may be a little interest there Folks?... Talk about wishful thinking by those who have already written off the QB possibility...It's more like sleep walking...I'm not saying the Bills will take a QB at #3 because I have no idea...But I am saying it's a HUGE debate right now at OBD and it will be for another week...Maybe they go OLB or D-Line in the end...But nothing is certain yet, and I'm guessing the QB's are still a HUGE part of the conversation...
  25. I think Miller is a heck of a Prospect and if The Bills take him they'll find a way to fit him in...Gailey hinted they may even look at moving him inside (next to Poz when he's re-signed I imagine), then have him Rush the Passer on 3rd Down... That being said, I STILL think Miller is an awfully tough sell to Ralph who is on record wanting a Franchise QB...I think far too many Bills Fans are overlooking the Ralph factor in this pick...The Owner wants a Franchise QB...Period...He's on record... So I'm guessing the conversation could go something like this...Nix is going to go to Ralph and say, "Miller is our guy because he can rush the Passer. He may be the next Derrick Thomas" And Ralph is going to say "That's what Modrak's Scouting Department said about Maybin a few years back. He was supposed to be the next Jason Taylor...What about the QB Buddy?" And Nix says something like..."Well, we really like Gabbert but we think it's too high for him here at #3, we need a Starter, and we need an OLB who can Rush the Passer." So Ralph says "We need a Franchise QB more though...We have Moats, Merriman, and we still have Maybin...You do what you think is best...But if Gabbert turns out to be the QB we so greatly need it's not going to go over too well and you know it...I think we should take the QB..." And Buddy takes the QB... It's just a guess...But I can see it going down that way...We'll see though...IF the Bills take Miller it does tell me Nix is completely in charge and Ralph has definitely taken a backseat...
