  1. I'm not just saying this to be a smart ass...But I truly believe IF Curry fell to #11 The Bills would pass...I don't know why I have that feeling, I just do...The way this Team does things on Draft Day I just think they would shock us and pass on "the sure thing..." It's just a gut feeling...
  2. That's the feeling I've had since He started this sitting at Home thing last year...I felt all along Peters simply did not want to play in Buffalo any more...
  3. Agreed...But it's not like The Bills DE's are great vs. the run either...The Bills need a DE and Ayers may be the best fit for their 4-3...He can rush the passer...He was a monster in The Sr. Bowl and the Practices before...He will get better too...He will learn...But the main thing is some Scouts have Ayers projected as the best long term answer as a 4-3 DE...Not just a Pass rusher or a run stopper...A complete Player at DE...We need one of those too...
  4. I doubt The Bills Trade down only because I think there is going to be a Player there at #11 they REALLY covet...Remember, this Bills FO has a tendency to fall in love with a Player they pretty much know they can get where they are Drafting...I think that Player is going to be Robert Ayers in 09, and like they did with Whitner and Lynch they are not going to chance a Trade Down...Just My opinion though...And I'm probably wrong...
  5. Curry at #11??? That would be interesting huh? Not sure about Matthews as a 4-3 End...I think there will be better options...What would be REALLY interesting is if Curry was still on the Board and the Bills passed to take the DE Ayers... I did hear a little something recently on NFL Network about the possibility of Curry sliding IF both QB's went in the Top 4...Teams don't see Curry as a fit at OLB in the 3-4, and the question is do you spend a Top 10 Pick on a 3-4 ILB? Wow! How's this for timing! I'm listening to Charlie Casserly talk about Curry right now on "Path To The Draft." The question with Curry is whether or not he can Rush the Passer as a 3-4 OLB according to Casserly...Interesting...CC has him sliding out of the Top 10 as well in his Mock...Though He said He does not think it will happen on Draft Day...This could get crazy...
  6. I really think Ayers is the odds on favorite to the Bills at #11...He's the best fit for The Bills D and depending on who you ask (Mayock...KOKBILLS... ) Ayers may have the most upside of any Defender in the 09 Draft... I've got My fingers crossed... That never works though...
  7. What did you expect? They kept that loser of a HC...He's still in every meeting giving his 2 cents on how to lose... Never underestimate the losing powers of Dead Dick...Or the power of the dark side for that matter...
  8. That would be an amazingly nice Draft!!! But I don't think Ayers lasts till #28 Overall...We'll see...
  9. That's My opinion as well...Just a feeling I get...Could be wrong though...
  10. Honestly Astro I think the Kid is EXACTLY what the Bills need both short and long term at LDE...Not sure if the Bills FO feels the same way...But when you consider the Grade Mayock has on Ayers he's actually a bargain at #11...
  11. He's feeling the pressure no doubt...As a Michigan Football Fan I could have told RR what he was getting ready to step into...We as Michigan Fans pretty much ran Lloyd Carr out cause he could not beat the sweater-vested one...But Carr was certainly not bad...RichRod is expected to come in and build a Program that can go toe-to-toe with Ohio State...NOTHING less will do...nothing less... Your not in West Virginia any more Rich...Welcome to the jungle...
  12. Mayock and Billick just broke down the Bills and Jets 1st Round...Mayock has Ayers going to Buffalo at #11 and quite obviously has a HUGE Man crush on Robert...I do too...
  13. Agreed!!! And thanks for saying so Biscuit!
  14. As a Running Back you may be right...As a Team contributor I think Players like Jackson are indeed VERY rare...What He offers the Team as a whole, at the Salary he will be willing to play for, is invaluable...Freddie is WAY more than a back-up HB...If that's all He was then I would understand the Bills stance...
  15. Exactly! I'm not saying this Deal should be done already...But the fact that there is clearly hard feelings on Freddie's part is the most rediculous joke...My confidence in the ability of the Folks running this thing in Buffalo is waning in a BIG way...How do you piss off a Player like Jackson? It make NO sense...The guy truly was a candidate for Team MVP last year...He was! I'm not saying he was the Team MVP...But he was probably top 5...Right? How many times did Freddy give the Bills great Field Position when Teams were kicking away from Roscoe or Leodis? We know the impact he had on the running game...I don't know...I'm a Fred Jackson Fan...Big time...And you're gonna get him at a bargain rate...I just don't get it...
  16. Thing is...This version of The Bills FO shows almost no desire to Trade down...They talk about it...But I think it's just smoke blowing to be honest...I think Marv came in and instilled the old "stay where you're at at make your Pick" philosophy...And that is now the Organizational policy if you will...Target a Prospect you're pretty sure will be there at your Pick...Then when it's time to Draft in the 1st Round, take the guy you have targeted...It's that simple I guess...That's how you end up with a player like S Donte Whitner at #8 overall...They seem to fall in love with one guy... I'm a Trade Down kinda guy...I've always believed that if an Organization has full confidence in their Scouting Department they will be FAR more willing to Trade down...More Picks for a solid Scouting Department should be a GM's dream scenerio if you ask me (and no one did )...I think the Bills needs, and this Drafts' talent pool, are just about picture perfect made for a Trade down...But I also doubt the Bills FO has the stones to pull one off...My guess is internally the Bills have already fell in love with one Player they pretty much know will be available at #11...And come hell or high water they will Draft that Player at #11...Period...End of story...
  17. Agreed... There is no reason to take Pettigrew at #11...His value there is poor...Later on in the 1st Round his value improves... The Bills have been a bit unwilling to work the Draft and Trade Down to increase picks and take a Prospect where they should be taken...Which is fine if you're right...For example, off field crap aside, no one really talks about Marshawn being a reach where the Bills Drafted him...The Bills were right on his value...Donte Whitner? Well that's another story... I think IF the Bills are that high on Pettigrew they will sit at #11 and take him...But I doubt they are THAT high on a TE who is obviously quite talented, but only runs in the 4.8 range...On the other hand, I think the Bills as an Organization are tired of seeing a Secondary they have spent two of the past three 1st Rounds fortifying looking less than stellar due to a woefully poor Pass Rush...It's just My opinion, but I think The Bills Scouting Department has worked tirelessly to find the DE/Pass Rusher they feel can come in an not only help out in 2009, but also the DE that is the best long term option...Can we not assume Chris Kelsay will be a Cap casualty sooner rather than later? I think the Bills are going to take one of the Top DE Prospects at #11...I'm guessing it's going to be Ayers, but I'm always wrong about these things where the Bills are concerned...So I guess Pettigrew is a definite possibility after all...
  18. Agreed on the Pettigrew thing... I think they'll take Ayers...Then again I'm always wrong...
  19. Agreed... Jauron is a career loser as a HC...There is no denying it...Until He has another winning Season it's easy to assume the trend will continue...
  20. My 1st choice is Ayers...but I would be OK with Maybin, Orakpo, Raji...even Jackson...I simply want the Bills to get Help on the D-Line or Pass Rush @#11... If we Trade Peters and pick up another 1st I'll understand if they go OT at #11... I'd LOVE to get Pettigrew but not at #11... If they go CB or S I know where the closest bridge is an I'll meet a bunch of ya there ok?
  21. Those who want to say Peters did not have an off year last year are just kidding themselves to be honest...Just yesterday Mike Lombardi commented that Peters had an off season due to the holdout and missed Camp...So it's pretty much public knowledge...Still, Peters is one of the better LT's in Football...He really is...And the consensus opinion right now seems to be with a full Camp, and full dedication, he'll be an elite LT once again...Maybe the best in the NFL...Of coarse if Peters stays in Buffalo and does not have a new deal we may never see Peters at his All-Pro level again. Because he WILL holdout again, he WILL miss Camp, and He WILL be less than elite if so...
  22. That's just it though...Can he play LB? While the body-type may fit, some Scouts don't believe the ability does...Even a 3-4 LB has to cover some time...Plus, I have not seen much film on Maybin admittedly, but just yesterday I heard the guys on The NFL Network say he can't play the Run at all right now...I'm sure he can get better at it, but how much better? If The Bills are going to Draft a Project DE/Pass Rusher at #11 I'd prefer Ayers...He's already the prototypical size and has a ton of raw ability...He's also pretty decent vs. The Run...If they want a LB I'd prefer Cushing, though I think #11 is too high for him... We'll see soon enough...
  23. Agreed... I'm in favor of keeping Peters if at all possible...But every day that passes I feel that is less likely...It does seem like the holdout last Season left The Bills VERY bitter despite the Company line when Peters returned...It also seems to Me (and it's JMO) that Peters (or maybe it's JP's Agent) is a bit pissed off that The Bills did not step up and make him the highest paid LT the minute he made a Pro Bowl...I could be wrong, but it's just the feeling I get... I think those who feel this is just a normal negotiation, or that these ploys are always done...well...I think those Folks are kidding themselves...I think there is a TON of bad blood behind the scenes in this situation and I think both sides have dug in their heels...I just don't see a middle ground because I don't think either side even wants to consider a middle ground...So if that's the case (and I know that's a BIG if), Trade him and lets move on already...
