  1. I certainly don't want to be the lone guy banging the drum for AJ Hawk around here...I'm not looking to campaign for him, I'm a Michigan Fan... But I think the misinformation and the lack of understanding on the part of some Bills fans concerning this Hawk thing is pretty laughable...I have no idea if AJ Hawk is going to be traded...What I do have a pretty good idea about is the fact that Hawk is probably better than anything we've got right now...And that includes Poz...If the argument is about money (even though I'm sure the Pack would have to be on the hook for most of what he's owed if a Trade went down), or whether or not Hawk is a fit for the 3-4 then I'm all ears...But to me, sitting here and saying a guy like AJ Hawk is a bust or cannot play, especially for this Buffalo Bills Team, is laughable... “I would think A.J. is probably having his best camp in his time here,” McCarthy said on Aug. 10. “I’ve liked his approach. His conditioning is at the highest level. He’s always been a highly conditioned athlete, and I think he’s taken it to another level this year, and I think he’s been very productive out here. He’s put together some big plays, and I thought he definitely stood out in the scrimmage.” From PackersNews.com Forum earlier this year...It seems some Packers Fans think Hawk is pretty good...Or not bad at least... "Your the type of guy that just sits around and repeats what he hears random media members blab about. Since you have all of this football knowledge tell me three occasions this year where AJ was beat in coverage just flat out beat. Coming from someone who has watched every snap at least 3 times all I seen was A.J. perform jack backer roles perfect not to mention a great pick against Baltimore while covering the seam in what was an obvious mismatch of size and speed. Got to love the way he stayed at home and allowed the guys up front to force Hasselback to put one right in his numbers there at Lambeau in week 16. One game that stands out to me was when Chillar got ate alive against the Vikes at that horrible place they call a football facility. I think Chillar is a stout player in any defensive set especially against an 11 or 20 personnel but for you guys to think that A.J. is so bad in coverage just shows your ability to repeat what is reported through this website and others. Why dont you actually try to watch some game film instead of focusing on what the announcers pretend to know about." The point here is opinions are like...well you know...The facts are Hawk is a former #5 Overall Pick who's ready to play every Game, even when he's banged up...And he would immediately upgrade the Bills at LB...For God's sake we're starting Keith freaking Ellison this week...I'm not saying Hawk is great, I'm not saying he was worth #5 overall, I'm not saying he's a 3 Down LB, and I'm not saying he's worth what is left on his deal...I am saying he's a HUGE upgrade from what this Team has right now...He's going to come in hungry and we may be able to get him for our 3rd string RB (I can't even comment on the protection vs injury thing...I just don't understand that type of thinking)... I'm just saying, if the money part can be worked out this should be a no-brainer for The Buffalo Bills...For another team maybe not-so-much...But for The Bills? The Keith Ellison is starting Buffalo Bills???...Anyway... True, but I still think Poz has better hair...so they got that going for them at very least...
  2. Oh no question about the Contract part Bro...Something would have to be worked out there...But you know...Where there's a will there's a way...I think GB would be stuck with most of that cash owed...No one else is going to pay Hawk that kind of money...
  3. Honestly...When the Bills are getting next to nothing out of him and he's 3rd on the depth Chart, what does it really matter?...The same way Hawk would likely be MUCH more productive in Buffalo, I'm sure Lynch would do the same in GB...He'll get a TON more opportunity...But here he's stuck behind Jackson and Spiller...And rightfully so...The idea of holding onto Lynch at this point, for whatever reason, pretty much proves why the Bills are bottom feeders...They just don't get it...
  4. It certainly seems that way...While Teams like the Patsies are seemingly always a step ahead...Turning over their Roster constantly to stockpile Draft Picks. Getting rid of Players with value who are not going to play as much on their Team. The Bills on the other hand continue to boggle the mind with their organizational strategy...Marshawn Lynch is a former 1st Round Draft Pick with talent no question...BUT...He's the #3 RB on this Bills Team. A team GREATLY lacking in talent in other positions...It would be one thing if The Bills were a perennial Playoff Team with a history of shrewd moves under their belt...It's quite another for a team that seemingly can't get anything right and simply appear to be clueless... When I heard Gailey talk about this great advantage The Bills feel they have with 3 good RB's I had to laugh...1st off you don't need 3 great RB's when you basically suck on Offense...OK I know 2 got hurt in Pre Season...Crap happens...Deal with it like other Teams do...You never assume injuries anyway...It's a luxury for good Teams, like the Giants SB winning Team a few years back, to have 3 good RB's...Teams like The Bills cannot afford such luxuries, but who the hell knows what this bunch is thinking anymore...The Bills don't even have anyone to block for them, but they need 3 RB's???... Whatever...I'm done trying to figure out that bunch at OBD...They are so far removed from a top-notch NFL organization it's actually a bit silly at this point...I'm not sure who is really pulling the strings with The Bills now, but I am pretty sure I was wrong in giving anyone the benefit of the doubt...This keeping Lynch thing pretty much proves I was wrong about that...
  5. Well he sniffed the field enough in his 1st 4 years to average over 100 tackles per season...The fact that the Packers Drafted Hawk at #5 overall has NOTHING to do with how much he could help The Bills...Is it really that hard to understand there are better players out there available because other Teams are FAR more deep and talented than the Buffalo Bills?...Sometimes I wonder if folks on this board actually ARE running The Bills...It certainly would explain why they suck so bad...Your opinion on Hawk is based on ONE game...He's not "solely a special teamer..." He's a 4 year starter who has yet to miss a Game in the NFL...And there are extenuating circumstances leading to this decision by Green Bay to leave Hawk out of the Nickel and Dime packages....Mainly the fact that they just gave the guy who does play in those packages a 4 year deal with $7 million dollars guaranteed. Another reason is the other guy can play too...He can play REALLY well...It happens when you actually Draft well and make good Free Agent decisions...It actually does happen in the NFL...I know as Bills Fans we're not necessarily aware of these things... I don't claim to be up on the Pack 100% either but according to his Coaches he's still the Starter and the fact that he did not play vs. Philly was due to them playing the whole Game in Nickel and Dime...His DC also commented that Hawk had a great pre season...The assumption that he's a bust or can't play is absurd...Is he an excellent cover LB? Apparently not...Would he likely be the best LB on the Bills Roster the minute he hit the field in Buffalo? Probably so... I have a feeling AJ Hawk is going to take this VERY personally and play his ass off for whoever gets him in the future...I guess we'll see soon enough what kind of a bust he really is..
  6. La Canfora is a SERIOUS hack...I can't believe that guy got a job on the NFL Network...I just can't believe it...He's a jackass douchebag...And that's on a good day...
  7. Amen to that... But IF Nix turned that down from any Team I would be REALLY disappointed... Unless the Player was Sanchez...
  8. It's not Hawk's fault he got picked #5 overall...In 4 years he's got over 400 total tackles, 8.5 Sacks and 5 INT's and he played EVERY Game since day #1 in the NFL...Not exactly a bust...He's did not start against Philly because GB played their Nickel Package basically the whole Game...Hawk is not in when they go to 5 or 6 DB's...Which I'll give you is not what you want from somebody picked #5 overall...But I think it's got more to do with the guy they replace him with and less about Hawk's ability... Hawk can play ILB in a 3-4...There is zero reason to believe Hawk would not be The Bills best ILB on Base Downs from the minute he stepped on to the field...Green Bay simply has better personnel than the Bills do (is that so hard to imagine ), and the guy that is battling Hawk for PT is most definitely a player...Brandon Chillar is an ex 4th Round Pick who has REALLY come on in GB...They just signed the guy to a 4 year, $22.65 million deal with $7 million guaranteed. So it's no surprise the Pack are looking towards the future with Hawks Contract and name being what it is... I look at a guy like AJ Hawk (who may or may not be available) and I see an opportunity...He comes from a winning Organization in College and the NFL...The Bills desperately need players like Hawk...They need competition everywhere and they need players who have talent that is better than average...So what if Poz comes back in a couple weeks...You think he's gonna stay healthy? Let Poz, davis and Hawk fight it out for PT...No harm in that...Again I think getting a player the caliber of AJ Hawk when all you have to give up is your 3rd string RB is an amazing potential value...And if he does not work out you're really not out much at the end of the year...A move like this would signify to me The Bills are still serious about at least trying to win Football Games...We'll see...
  9. Well, maybe the prospect of Lynch is not exactly thrilling them either...I don't see how The Bills could do much better than AJ Hawk for Lynch...I don't really care why Hawk has fallen out of favor in GB, I still think he's better than anything (including Poz) we can put on the Inside of the 3-4 right now...And who knows...If he goes back to being the AJ Hawk that entered the NFL it's like grand larceny for Lynch...From what I can tell most Packers Fans believe the guy is still pretty good vs the Run...I'm guessing he'd be our best tackling LB the minute he walks on to the field... I'm a Michigan Fan and I have NO PROBLEM with the possibility of Hawk for Lynch...I'd do it in a half a heartbeat... All due respect. But that is a terribly misinformed statement...He may not be playing up to the #5 Overall potential...But he's FAR from a bust and he definitely does not suck...
  10. I crack up when I read stuff like this... You don't think the attitude has anything to do with a decade of ineptitude do ya? Lighten up...Sure...
  11. I'm not sure if it's 3 knees, but it's definitely 3 season ending injuries... Anyway, too bad for Jenkins...Kinda sucks, but he's a Jet now so it don't break my heart...The Jets D played well enough without him in 09 so I don't think it will set them back much...
  12. I don't disagree with anything you wrote but I think it has to be considered that Trent is simply broken...I'm not saying it's the case, but at this point I think it has to at least be part of the overall evaluation...I wonder if, since the concussion in Az in 08, he's ever been the same...And I also wonder if he's capable of being that much better no matter who you put around him due to that factor...
  13. Exactly... Though I think Trent would still struggle...Sanchez would be BRUTAL behind The Bills line...It would be horrible...
  14. Exactly... Though it's completely classless nonetheless...
  15. I think considering the incredible talent Sanchez is surrounded by he's got to be #1 on the worst list...If you saw the look on that Kids face before the Baltimore Game when he was warming up it's SO obvious he's in WAY over his head at this point...I think he's got enough talent to overcome it, but the mental part of the Game is going to kill that Kid for the time being... And Fatasaurus Rex promising Super Bowls is not doing Sanchez any favors either...The Kid probably cringes inside every time he hears that crap talk from his HC...
  16. When he gets a new QB or before that? No Coach will win consistently with Edwards or Fitz unless they have one hell of a Running Game and a knockout Defense...I think The Bills Running Game can and will improve over time this year...I don't think Gailey has a chance with the QB's on the Roster though...He's not a miracle worker...
  17. Right because Mike Nolan was the 1st Defensive Coordinator to come up with a Game Plan to stop a Trent Edwards led Offense... You'll see in time...I'm not saying Miami has a bad Defense...Just saying what happened yesterday has happened PLENTY of times before over the past 3 Years...The Bills do not have a QB that can take advantage of what Defensive Coordinators are throwing at them...Give me any of the Top 10 QB's in this league and sure they are going to struggle at times behind The Bills O-Line...But they're also going to make some big plays and key passes to keep the chains moving...They'll do just enough to loosen up that Run Defense and then all bets are off... The Bills have plenty of problems on Offense...No question...And yes Gailey could have had a better Game Plan yesterday...But these are all issues a good QB is going to cover up a bit...And the Bills don't have a good QB...They don't even have an average QB...They have one of the worst in the league...
  18. Wow...Don't even know what to say about that comment...The rest of your post could have been 100% dead on, but you lost me with that sentence...Lee Evans has incredible breakaway speed...It may be even better functional football speed than stopwatch, but it's substantial breakaway speed nonetheless...
  19. Miami struggled to beat the Bills by 5 points (the Bills gave them 2 of those 5) when the Bills basically had zero, notta, zilch Offense for the better part of the entire Game...How anyone could look at that Miami Team and think they are light years ahead of the Bills is beyond me...Give Me Jake Long and a decent QB and the Bills leapfrog Miami in a heartbeat...That IS NOT an endorsement of the Bills talent...Instead it is simply pointing out that Miami is not that good either...Something I think the rest of the NFL, starting with Minnesota this coming week, is going to show us in these weeks to come...
  20. Right, cause everyone who recognizes Trent's problems is only concerned with running decent QB's like JP out of Buffalo...
  21. OK I'll bite... But 1st I'll say after yesterday there is little question the Fish are the better Team...Especially considering Trent Edwards is still the starter at QB in Buffalo... But I'm curious...What exactly did you see out of the Fish that gave you the opinion they are anything better than average?...Henne? The fact that they ran the Ball decently against this Bills Defense? The fact that they did the impossible and confused Edwards? The fact that Miami's Defense looked good stacking the box and daring the Bills to pass while completely taking away the Running Backs?...Something every NFL Team is going to do against The Bills until Edwards proves he can beat it... I don't know...Miami did not impress me at all yesterday in comparison to the hype they've received...Are they better than the Bills with Edwards at QB? Sure they are, but who is not? The way I see it Miami is clearly behind NE and still a bit behind the Jets in this Division. If the Bills had a decent QB Miami would be the 4th best Team in the Division... But maybe that's just me...
  22. At this point there really is no denying it...I don't know why anyone would try...It's not like the Kid is putting decent Games together and the Defense is giving up 40 points a Game...If Edwards was halfway decent his career record would be outstanding considering some of the efforts he's got on Defense over the years (sure the Defense broke down a lot in the 4th Quarter of Games, but they were also on the field constantly)... Trent's toast...That's all there is to it...Sad but true...
  23. I agree...And I know most folks don't pay attention to my thoughts around here, at least the smart ones don't...But anyone who does knows I'm not a Fitz fan whatsoever...Still, until he gets the chance I'm going to wonder how Fitz (or Brohm for that matter) would do running Gailey's Offense...It has nothing to do with a feeling like either will do better, I'm just curious I guess...
  24. Wow...Don't know what to say about that...I'm the last one to sit here and say The Bills have great receivers...But after all this time and evidence to the contrary, to have that type of faith in Edwards...That's pretty amazing... I think it's actually quite simple...TE may find a picture perfect situation he can walk into and be productive...I kinda doubt it, but anything is possible...To me it just seems as if he's broken...I don't think he's ever going to be very good, and God knows I've given him the benefit of the doubt. He'll have a decent game every now and again...But for the most part, vs. decent Defenses, he's going to be tentative and ineffective most of the time...
