Based on what I heard just now on the drive home WGR...I would say that no one in the Bills Organization would confuse the current WGR discussion with any "company line." In fact I enjoyed the topic and the opinions...And I pretty much agreed with everything they said...I'm pretty sure Buddy Nix would not agree though...Pretty sure...

How awesome would it be?

Except in the 49ers case both QB are good, not the other way around... I thought it was a mistake at first...But now I'm not sure...Kaepernick's ceiling is a mile high...We'll see... We'll see...This Pats Defense can look REAL bad at times (they're 27th in the league...The Bills are 26th so...)...It could go either way... -

100% agree Joe...But at this point it's like salt on an open wound...The thought that we could have had Kaepernick, or Dalton, and all we would have to give up is Aaron Williams...That thought alone is enough to send a few Bills fans to one of those padded rooms...Or the nearest bridge... Let alone Nix made that Pick KNOWING that Ryan Fitzpatrick was our Starting QB, and Tyler Thigpen was our Back-Up...He did know that...Right?... -

So exactly how do you judge a GM on whether or not he's done a good job? I'm guessing looking back at past Drafts and UFA moves is the way 99.9% of NFL Owners do it...Hindsight is 20/20...So what? It's Nix's job to have FORESIGHT...This way he does not have to get clobbered by hindsight and fired by Ralph...It's his job...We all get judged in hindsight on our decisions at work ..If I make a stupid decision...(which never happens btw... )...The Owner of My Company is going to want to know why I decided that way...And guess what he's going to say if I tell him..."Well Boss...Hindsight is 20/20..." And no question I was OK with the Dareus pick...Thrilled as a matter of fact...But that kind of makes my point...I'm not an NFL GM...And if I could not see that AJ Green, Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones, JJ Watt, and Aldon Smith were going to be better Pro's than Dareus that's OK...I'm not getting paid millions of dollars to make those decisions...Nix is...And he blew the Williams Pick WAY worse than the Dareus Pick because even most casual fans KNEW that Fitz was not a Franchise QB...And when you don't have a Franchise QB it damn well better be your 1st priority in the Draft to get one... And as for Andy Dalton...I game with a guy from Dallas that told me Dalton was going to be real good NFL QB when the Kid was a Jr...Believe me he reminds me of it on a weekly basis...So plenty of Folks knew...Just not Nix...Why? And even more importantly how in God's name could Nix and his Scouts think aaron Williams would be a better choice there for the future of this Franchise than Dalton or Kaepernick? Hindsight is s B word is it not? -
Like I said in another thread, I'm pretty sure it was Sal Capaccio a couple days ago who reported that Glennon is the one to keep an eye on...He said The Bills like him a lot and are Scouting him big-time...He seemed to have some inside info on it...I was pretty surprised when I heard it...
-
Believe me I know...I've been saying the same for a couple Months now... I'd still love to have the Kid though...A man can dream right?...
-
Well...Not to nitpick your post...But that statement makes it tough... Smith is a decent athlete, but he's a QB 1st and foremost...QB's who complete 70% of their passes in their final College Season usually do pretty well in the NFL...Smith is at 70.2% so far this year...His worst completion % was in 2010 when he completed 64.8% of his passes...He's thrown 93 TD Passes to only 20 INT's in his WV Career...That is pretty amazing...The Kid can sling it...I'd LOVE to have him in Buffalo...

Rolando McClain (update - released by Raiders)

Agreed...And it's just my opinion...But I think Te'o is much closer to Rey Maualuga than he is Willis...I'm certain Te'o is a bit faster than Maualuga, and not nearly as fast and quick as Willis...Maualuga was a heck of a good College player...REAL good...And he was a 2nd Round Pick...He's been a solid, if not spectacular Pro...He leads the Bengals in Tackles this year...He's good...But he's not Willis...And I don't think Te'o is anywhere close to Willis either...That's why, at this point, I'm not crazy about spending a Top 10 Pick on Te'o...There is an absolute TON of hype attached to that Kid right now...I'd like to wait and let the process play out before I decide he's truly an elite prospect...A sub 4.6 40 time would go a LONG way in selling me on Te'o...We'll see... -

Seriously? Do you live in some sort of alternate universe where over-generalization, over-exaggeration, and the lack of ability to discern between fanaticism and good discussion are acceptable norms? If so, I'm beginning to understand your recent Posts a lot more... -

Fitz...For me at least, it's not even close... I'd rather see the whole lot go...And take Nix with them... -
No offense...But threads like this may very well be the biggest waste of space we endure around here... First off McShay? Really? McShay? Next...At this point in their final year of College did anyone see Brady, Brees, Rogers, etc being elite NFL QB prospects? It's still WAY early in the process...We don't even know who is coming out for certain...There will be a couple good QB Prospects in this Draft...You can pretty much count on it...

Right..The Buffalo Bills, who have not made the Playoffs in well over a decade now, have all kinds of bandwagon jumping Fans... Sure they do... -

Gailey- Fitz is the guy for us- full quote in first post
KOKBILLS replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got to be honest...I read the quote and listened to it on the way home...Everyone can have their own opinion...But I felt Gailey was saying pretty clearly that Fitz is the guy now, and in (at very least) the near future...That was how he's always felt, and nothing has changed...Gailey is the HC...So it holds a lot of weight when he makes a statement like that...IMHO Gailey was not going to back away one inch from his continued endorsement of Fitz...And I get that I guess...he's close to retirement anyway... It did not strike me as something that was said simply to keep the teams eye on the prize or anything like that...I took it that Gailey was basically saying look...Fitz is the guy now and in the foreseeable future, the Offense will get better, and nothing has changed his opinion...I think, and I could be wrong as hell...But I think Gaily was making a stand on Fitz...He's his guy...We'll see if that changes when/if he gets ultimatum-ed in the off season... Like I said...just my opinion... -

It's looking more and more possible that the Williams Pick will be the one that stings most in the long run...Which is surprising seeing as though that was the 2nd Rounder... -

Right...no one could have made that throw... And the proof is that Gannon said it... -

KOKBILLS replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed... Look...I'm no Gailey Fan either...I certainly would like to see him gone...But if you think a stud QB would not help this Offense immensely, Gailey or not, I have to question what Team you're watching on most Sundays... No offense, but you can dig as deep as you want, and Fitz is still not going to be good enough...Gailey is not going to be here forever regardless...So The Bills need to improve at QB period...End of story... -
Gailey- Fitz is the guy for us- full quote in first post
KOKBILLS replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear what you're saying...But Gailey was not just referring to today...He was clearly referring to the future...Why he is talking about the QB of the future, or near future, right now is beyond me...To be honest I think Gailey is having a bit of a meltdown at this point ...And he used the incredibly stupid phrase "If we continue to get better..." It was just the same old Gailey garbage...I used to really back this HC...But I'm so done with him... -

I'm pretty sure the Defender CJ blew by does not think he quit on that play whatsoever...It was a bad throw...Period... -

This just in...Gailey backs Fitz not just for now...But as the future QB... Warning...Have your antacids ready before you read this... http://wgr550.com/Bills--Gailey-says-Fitzpatrick-is-the-QB-of-the-fu/14892460 -
Murray is only 6-1...I think he's going to struggle in the NFL because of his size..I think the same thing about Barkley to be honest...Both are on the short side, and neither is a great athlete.and scrambler like Drew Brees... I think Wilson's upside is better than both Murray and Barkley...We'll see though...
