Mario Williams asks Bills to line him up at LDE
KOKBILLS replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly...It's one of the first things Nix mentioned after they signed Williams...Williams wants to play LDE and feels most comfortable there... -
I don't know...Again we'll see...I just don't the Bills Management, at this point, are afraid to gamble a bit towards greatness...A player like Moorman is important to a young Team that is building...But The Bills are looking to make a big splash now, and this is an area that could be improved...Would it be a gamble? Sure...But it could pay-off big time...Plus they save some cap dollars and it's not like you're cutting Moorman in his prime...He's 36 years old and showing clear signs of regression...I think if Powell shows he has better upside over the next 3 years or so he's gonna get the job...Just my opinion though... No question Moorman will still be the favorite going in to Camp...But I don't think it's much of a weighted competition...In fact, I think Moorman is going to have to clearly out-perform Powell to retain the job...If they are about the same why not go with the younger, cheaper option?...Because at this point Powell WILL continue to improve...Moorman? Not so much...

We'll see...Sooner or later it's time though...No one can play forever...
-
I tied to get Y'all fired up about this when we signed the Kid, but nobody seemed very interested... Powell was the best Punter in College Football last year...He has a big leg and great accuracy...He's a legit threat to Moorman...And Moorman is no where near the Punter he was a few years back...How more Bills Fans are not frustrated with his inconsistency is beyond me...Sure he still booms one every now and again...But he also shanks them WAY too often for my liking...With this new Defense, Punting is going to be HUGE for The Bills this year...Pinning opponents, and making them drive the length of the field is important...I think Mooorman's number is up to be honest...JMO, but I think it's time... And Powell is a holder btw...
-
I like Wilson too...But premature a bit? Rookie Camp?...
-
He had a real rough 2011...At least at times he did..But this is likely a little more Cap related than anything...I knew The Bills were goign to start chopping some Cap dollars from Vets...But to be honest I never thought Florence would be one of them...
-
Oh man that is awfully funny though...
-
Plus...The kid can flip the field... "2011 Football Bowl Subdivision national leader with a 47-yard average...punted 57 times for 2,681 yards...had 24 punts of 50 or more yards with at least one 50-plus yarder in nine of 13 games...23 punts downed inside the 20 which included 14 inside the 10-yard line..." Bio

Or a hit where he doesn't cause a fumble and recover it? Seriously though, this Kid is a heck of a good Football player...Hard to believe he lasted till the 4th Round... Exactly...I think Folks have NO idea how much DB talent is on the average LSU, or Alabama Roster...It's sick... And he wore #13!
-
I know right? I mean...I know it's just a Punter, but I'm actually surprised more Fans are not a little excited about this Kid...Lets face facts, A great Punter make a HUGE difference, especially with a MUCH improved Defense...And Moorman has REALLY fell off over the past couple years IMHO...I know he's a Fan favorite, and a great community guy...But that's not going to secure a job on this Team any longer...Did anyone notice how Buddy made a point of saying they are bringing in a Punter to compete?...This Kid is serious competition for Moorman...No question about it...

RD 4, Pick #105: LB Nigel Bradham - FSU

Chances are... -
Undrafted Free Agents...Who do you want?
KOKBILLS replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a BIG signing I think (I mean, as far as Punters go it is...)...This Kid is no joke...And Moorman has seen his better days...I think it's time... -
Me too! Oh would I LOVE to see Long in Buffalo!!!...He belongs in a place like Buffalo...Miami is simply not a fit for a blue-collar player like Jake IMHO...

Tommy Streeter still available
KOKBILLS replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could the reason be that the OG/OT is 100 times better football player than Streeter is right now? Just saying... -
How exactly did you get that out of what you saw?...They showed a single play where an OT was beat (turns out it was not Glenn) to the inside by a a DE, at the Sr Bowl (No name? It was an All Star Game Practice... ) to illustrate what happens when he does not move his feet correctly...Then they showed a play where he stones a guy (this WAS Glenn) at the same Practice moving his feet the right way... Also...If you watched Mayock's description a couple days ago concerning why he moved Glenn back up into a 1st Round Grade, he explained how Glenn reminded him of Marcus McNeil...And how he had missed on McNeil calling him a "heavy legged waist-bender." He said Glenn was similar and even though he sees him as more of a Guard/RT prospect, after doing some "self-scouting," he moved him back up because he is massive and has great potential... The Buffalo Bills are saying Glenn is a LT Prospect...They Drafted him to be one...We'll see if they are right...But like Buddy said "No he’s not a guard. He started 50 games, the last 16 was left tackle. We put it out there, we tried to spread the rumor that he was a guard and hope somebody wouldn’t take him." Now maybe Buddy is wrong, and some of these talking heads are right...But to be honest, and no offense, I think you're kind of over exaggerating the the whole reaction thing...Glenn was a VERY good, if not great College Offensive Lineman...Mayock had him Rated #25 overall...Pro Football Weekly had him at #23...He's a 1st Team All SEC, and 3rd Team AP All American LT in his first full year playing the position...How many prospects can say that? All the Scouts seem to like him...The ONLY question is whether or not he's going to be a LT...Some think he's going to be a LT (like The Bills), others don't...But almost everybody agrees he's going to be a Pro Bowl caliber Guard if he plays there...And The Bills had terrible injury problems all along the O-Line last Season...So as far as I can tell, this was a no-brainer pick...He makes our O-Line WAY better from day #1...

Mayock vid of Glenn getting beat wasn't Glenn
KOKBILLS replied to Last Guy on the Bench's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! Nice catch...can't believe I did not see that... -
Right...Mayock was stunned by the Glenn Pick...A Player he himself had rated #25 overall, who went #41 overall, to a Team that needed an OT...And he was shocked... Right...

RD 3, Pick #69: WR TJ Graham - NC State
KOKBILLS replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just in case some of you did not here the Presser...When asked if Graham was a slot WR Gailey was pretty emphatic that he was going to play outside...So all this talk about the slot/returns...According to the HC/Offensive Guru...He's not going to be a slot guy, and they may hold off on the returns too... On if Graham is an outside or slot receiver: Chan Gailey: "Outside guy. The speed, he’s 5’11” and something, close to 6’. He can run by most everybody, I mean the guy can fly, and like Buddy said he can catch. He’s got some return ability, don’t know if we’ll do that right off the bat, we’ll let him work at receiver more than anything and try to become proficient there." -
Oh that's perfect...
-
Agreed...But it's not only that...He's not a great athlete, and he does not have great size...Just look at Martin...He looks like a blow up TE...He needs at least a full year, maybe two of NFL conditioning...I don't think his smarts-alone are going to get him by in the NFL while he gets bigger and stronger...I think he's much better suited, body-wise, to move in to Center...He certainly has the smarts for it... I like Martin the Kid, but not so much the LT prospect...I think he's WAY, way over-rated...
-
Usually I get pissy about this stuff...But I'm so confident Gilmore is going to be a VERY solid Cover Corner for years to come, I could really care less what anyone says about the Pick...I watched this Kid almost every Saturday for 3 years...He's going to be awesome when he gets Coached up just a bit...I love the Pick...

In this NEW NFL are the Bills a day late & a dollar short?
KOKBILLS replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well...If The Bills Board was anything like Mayocks, and they had Gilmore at #8 overall...You get the #8 guy on your Board at #10...And you're pretty happy you did not give up a 2nd, or 3rd Round Pick, for another guy who was a couple slots higher... -
what our draft board probably really looked like
KOKBILLS replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure they had Gilmore ahead of Kuechly...Buddy was asked point blank what was more important, CB or LB if both had similar Grades, and he said CB immediately...I think it was Barron, Gilmore, Kuechly, then Floyd... -
I really like Jeffery...But why Upshaw?
