  1. There's plenty of room!!!
  2. I missed that post by Kirby...But I like it... I guess the question would be then...Do they view Geno and EJ as #8 worthy?
  3. Exactly! I don't want to get too hyped for one or the other...Because if there is anything I have learned over these years it's that the Bills almost never take the guy I want... But I do look at some of these QB's and think even though they may have some definite positives, why would you want them more than EJ? Especially if it will take the same pick to get them...If you're going to have to develop a QB, why not look to develop the guy with prototypical size and athletic ability?...We'll see...It's just hard for me to imagine an NFL GM or coach liking Nassib or Tyler Wilson more than EJ or Geno...And I realize that's JMO...None of them are perfect...So why not take the athlete with the big arm? Anyway...
  4. Brandon Marshall is listed at 6-4 in most places...But I always thought he was 6-5...I'm sure that was a typo because your point is well taken...Larry Fitzgerald and Julio Jones fit that mold as well...
  5. Thanks for that post SJBF!!! That breakdown of EJ by Jaws is pretty much exactly the way I see him...And the reason why he's my favorite of this QB class...I realize EJ is not a finished product whatsoever...But...I think a year or two from now, in the right situation of course, EJ could be a star in the NFL...I feel similar about Geno, but I do think that EJ has slightly more upside...Then third I like Nassib...I simply do not believe any QB in this class can come close to EJ's upside outside of Geno...And because all these QB's have individual flaws that will be tested in their development, I'll side with the 6-5 athlete who has a very good-live arm, and endless potential...Just think what a Coach like Jim Harbaugh could do with EJ's talent...That's why I want the Bills to do everything they can to get Manual...It's certainly a leap of faith...But with this class, and the Bills depth chart, I think he's a perfect fit...
  6. You're right...Probably 8...But I'm personally not a big Wilson guy...Though I would certainly not put him far behind the others... Charles Davis likes Wilson better than Nassib...And I respect Charles Davis' opinion...He was the only guy I heard say before the 2011 Draft that Kaepernick would be the best QB of that class in a couple years...But even Davis said Wilson would be a potential starter and a very good back-up...Which I guess says more about how Davis rates Nassib than anything...
  7. It does seem the QB opinions are all over the place...Personally I've done more reading about, and watching of QB's this past year than I ever have leading up to a Draft...It's actually been fun, and bit challenging because each of the top 7 QB's in this Draft (Smith, Manuel, Barkley, Nassib, Bray, Glennon, and Scott) has something that will lead you to believe that in the right system they could be very good...Equally...they all each have flaws, or questions, that lead you to believe in the wrong system they could fall flat... Through this process I've tried to keep an open mind because I realize that one of those 7 will likely be the Buffalo Bills QB of the future, and it very well may not be the guy I like best...And with this bunch I can honestly say that I could get behind each of them individually if that's the Bills guy...at least until they proved they could not do it in the NFL... All that being said...I like EJ Manual the best, followed closely by Geno Smith...After that in order I like Nassib, Scott, Barkley, Bray, then Glennon...The Bills HAVE to get one of these 7 though...Or I'm looking for a good bridge with adequate height...
  8. I would say Geno or EJ...But the QB combo with Woods would be very nice...I just don't think Woods will last till #41...But I would love to come out of the 1st two rounds with a QB, and Woods, no question...
  9. No...No he was not...
  10. We're not comparing Calvin Johnson to Austin though...Right?
  11. I'll say this much...I've been a die-hard Bills fan since i was 5 years old...I have the pictures to prove it...I got my 1st Buffalo Bills uniform when I was 5...So that's 42 years ago...And I'm not saying I'm a bigger fan than anyone here...But I also know no one here is more dedicated to Buffalo Bills football than I am...I'm about as die-hard as it gets...My friends think I'm nuts...My girlfriend cant believe I've stuck with them this long...But I never cared...I love the Bills... That being said...If the Bills pick Tavon Austin at #8, I will go out the next day, and for the 1st time in my entire life I will purchase a hat of another NFL team...It will be a Carolina Panthers hat (my Nephews favorite team...plus I'm moving to Wilmington NC later this year)...And with that purchase I will begin to follow the Panthers equally from now on...I will have two teams...But I'll no longer be a Bills fan exclusively...They will have lost that privilege with me by picking Austin at #8... May not seem like a lot to some of you...But it is to me...And that's exactly how pissed I'll be if they Draft Austin at #8...And even if they trade down...They damn well better get me Geno, EJ, or even Nassib along with Austin, or I'm still going to be pissed off...I feel like Tavon Austin could be the poster child pick for why Buddy Nix is a complete joke of a GM...It would be the final nail in the coffin for me, and the final piece of evidence necessary to prove that Buddy has lost it...The pick would literally send me off the deep end...
  12. Could not possibly disagree with this take enough...No way...No how...QB trumps all...And until you have a REAL good one you're spinning your wheels...And even if they think Kolb may be able to do it, you still try to do better at the QB position...The same way the Seahawks did after signing Flynn,, and the Niners did with Alex Smith already on the Roster... No offense...But it's that kind of attitude about the QB position that got us 3 years of Fitz...So...No thanks...
  13. Right...Half...that seems pretty accurate...
  14. Another thing about Geno that Russ Lande pointed out in his Scouting Report is the fact that he already has a great understanding of not forcing passes...Part of what got Geno the early attention was the fact that he was slinging the ball around like crazy, granted against poorer Defenses...But when he came up against the better teams, for the most part, he kept WVU in those games by not turning the ball over a ton and forcing things...I think this is a real factor in evaluating Smith and his overall game...And part of why his game projects well to the next level...He certainly has the athletic ability and arm to run just about any Offense in the NFL...But the ability to understand when to take a chance and when to throw it away is something some QB's never learn...I like that about Geno a lot...
  15. Difference is...During WVU's 5 consecutive losses Geno never had a game with a QB Rating under 100...He through 11 TD's to only 5 INT's in those games, and WVU scored 38, 34, and 49 point in the last 3 of those 5 games... I think it can safely be said that Geno was towards the bottom of blame for WVU's struggles...
  16. So we've got that going for us!!!
  17. Yep...Like I've said here before I don't think the Kolb signing changes a thing as far as the Bills looking for a QB early in the 2013 Draft...All it does is give them some insurance and a little flexibility in case things do not unfold exactly like they planned...
  18. I do feel like everything that is going on is pointing towards the Bills looking for a trade down...Maybe even trading down twice...Getting more picks int his Draft is essential for the Bills IMHO...That #8 pick is growing in value too with the rise of players like Tavon Austin, and Star Lotulelei...Not to mention the possibility of Lane Johnson being available at #8... It (trading down) makes a lot of sense...Which likely means Buddy will stay put...
  19. Well...I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I do hope we all get the opportunity to yell at EJ the next few years...
  20. Yes...Yes she is...
  21. Not sure what you're looking at but Spiller had 4967 yards from scrimmage compared to Austin's 4444...And CJ had 51 total TD's (KR and PR included) to Austin's 40...Austin did have more Kick and Punt return yards than Spiller (a little over 200 yards more)...Spiller's KR average was better than Austin's...Austin's PR average was better than Spiller's...All this according to sports-reference.com... No matter though...IMHO Spiller was still better...
  22. Well Bill...We're Bills fans...So we would know nothing about that...
