The Vibe of this Team feels different… to me at least
finn replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. Up to the Dorsey firing, this season looked even worse in a way. But Brady's appointment and the McDermott flap together turned things around. My read is that the McDermott story, taken by the team as a smear job, resolved some resentment that may have been simmering since the 13-seconds game. Almost exactly then, Brady takes over, bringing new energy to the offense, just when the team was ready for it. It was like a one-two punch. This is quite a story. Rare. Akin to an effective coach taking over from a disaster coach and turning around the season, but with a twist. A popular but ineffective coach goes, and an unpopular coach stays but the reason he's unpopular is exorcised. The result: An united, motivated, hungry team rallying with all their frustrated potential at just the right time. They are on fire. -
A Few Thoughts about the Cowboys Game, in no particular order
finn replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm surprised I haven't seen any references to the 1994 Super Bowl, where Dallas did the same thing to the Bills, running Emmitt Smith on virtually every play at one point. Nice to get some payback, for those of us with long memories. -
McDermott’s Defense against #1 Offense? Discuss
finn replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
You lost me at "multiple stacked rosters." On offense, they have had Allen, Diggs, and...? Anyone else? Anyone at all? No, when the history of this Bills team will be written, they'll say Allen alone raised this team from average. And they'll be right. -
Did they mention Allen's turnovers again, brain-dead fools that they are?
-
Ideally, you want someone who can do more than be adequate. Center is a key position. Maybe a third-round pick? Higher would be nice, but they need WR and safety.
-
Not quite yet. This game played to his strength, which is run blocking. He needs to at least hold his own as a pass blocker, and we haven't seen him do that consistently yet. Allen makes his line look good, always has.
-
I think this is the third game in a row that Davis hasn't had a catch, isn't that right? For a WR2, that's not good.
-
No obvious conclusion, either. Agree he really deserves credit. If Kincaid can continue contributing, we just need one more player to step up. Diggs is the obvious candidate. I'm happy with Ty Johnson and Shakir. Davis feels like baggage at this point.

Can't believe Cook was benched for so long when he fumbled in that one game (forgot which). Do we know who made that genius decision?
-
Love that the refs didn't decide this game.
-
They'll win the division when the beat the Miami Frauds.
-
The Dallas D has got to be exhausted by now. They can score, and the Bills just need to keep running it down their throats.
-
Was it McDermott or Dorsey who benched Cook when he fumbled earlier in the year (and last year)?
-
McDermott time.
-
That little cutjump he has is Thurman-esque.
-
Rapp is doing very well out there. Late in coverage.
-
I hope Brady stays with Cook. Should open things up for Diggs. Do the Bills have any other wide receivers? Well, they could try Kincaid again.
-
He's really been impressive. Amazing he's on our team. What a development!
-
Just what I was thinking. Imagine a Hopkins or Metcalf or any competent downfield receiver on this team. They'd be unstoppable.
-
Sans corrupt referees. I have to say, they're calling a fair game today. After the Philly, game, I'm surprised.
-
You left out the part about who they're throwing to.
-
When will the light go for the Bills and they bench Davis? The guy is a liability out there. I don't care if he's a good blocker. Better to put a lineman if you want a blocker. Maybe he'll even catch a ball on occasion.
-
Well, he shoved him hard two beats after the ball was gone. They almost always call that.
