  1. Allen is just so competitive, he simply cannot take a sack or thrown an incompletion on third down. He takes crazy risks in those situations, always has. I think we just need to accept that as part of the package. Works for me.
  2. Von instead of Rousseau. Do I need to elaborate?
  3. Nightmare scenario. Prevent defense for the rest of the game.
  4. Does he know who Kincaid is?
  5. Walking down the field.
  6. Play not to lose. The McDermott way. Maybe they'll miss the field goal!!
  7. Scrutiny has never deterred biased refereeing in the past. You can see why. Fans scream, media figures tut tut, then it's all forgotten. Money changes hands, and all is well in corruption land.
  8. So evidently in the 13-second game, McDermott a) seized the play calling; b) called the soft defense that lost the game; d) refused to take responsibility; and 3) implicitly blamed the players and other coaches. Wow. And this insecure, uptight man, far more scared of losing than intent on winning, is the head coach of a generational Bills team. Do we prefer losing out and ridding ourselves of this man or winning out and being saddled with him forever? How about a compromise: The players approach him with a bargain: We won't turn on you, but you take a back seat on this team. Go along for the ride or get out.
  9. Even more than usual, I'm hoping for a blowout win. Besides the statement it would make, a blowout is the only way to keep McDermott's sweaty hands off the team in the final minutes.
  10. If he had connected with Davis on that last throw, that would have been five touchdowns and a thrilling overtime win that even Allen haters couldn't diminish. No worries. He just needs to keep trucking. I just hope his team or coaches don't let him down, like in the 13 seconds game. He was on fire in those playoffs.
  11. Allen had four touchdowns and over 400 yards passing and running in the Philly game, playing in a hostile stadium in the rain with biased refs, and the media narrative focused on his one interception. Meanwhile, Mahomes, with low production, is getting headlines like "Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is having his best season since 2019 in two key areas." Searching for something--anything--good to say about Mahomes and anything to say bad about Allen.
  12. When you hear a oft-repeated "truth," it's a good exercise to flip the first and second clauses, just for a reality check. In the case of the Allen narrative, rather than, "Sure, he's a great quarterback, but he's a turnover machine," you get "Sure, he throws interceptions, but he's a touchdown machine." Bias exposed. Cheers to Greenberg for not being a sheep like his colleagues.
  13. What, no 9-11 analogy? 😄
  14. I would love them to play like that for once. Aggressive but smart ball. Fake punts, onside kicks, gadget plays, not settling for field goals. It might mean leaving McDermott in the locker room, though. The guy has a Lamborghini and drives it like a dump truck.
  15. Brady may have been a great player, but he's a little tiny man, jealous of other players getting the attention.
  16. Should be an exciting game. Putting our shared anxieties and hopes aside or a minute, we're just so fricking lucky to be able to watch two quarterbacks of this ridiculous quality in the same game. After twenty years of watching garbage (and Brady), I'm just going to try to enjoy the show.
  17. I don't think anyone will be in the mood for making excuses if the Bills lose this game. Even if they win, it will be nice but like, "Let's see what they do against the Cowboys before we get excited." They created this mess when they lost to all those mediocre teams, one after another. The only way to redeem themselves at this table is to run the table, all the way to the Super Bowl. Then a miserable story becomes a key part of a wonderful fairy tale.
  18. Brady could be interviewing for McDermott's job if things break a certain way. That is, if the offense explodes but the Bills keep losing because of McDermott's mismanagement.
  19. Works for me. Ironic how we all got our wish and Frazier is gone, only to be replaced by a guy who may end be the most choke head coach in NFL. So now we have a choke head coach AND a choke DC. The result: if the game is close, the Bills will lose pretty much every time. Not exactly the formula for a championship. Brady and Allen: Our hopes and dreams rest with thee!
  20. I think they can do it, but it's mostly because they've been so incredibly good in recent years. This year has been different, but I still have hope all the losses were due to a combination of Dorsey being too transparent, the defensive injuries (early), and McDermott panicking when the game is tight. Soooo, it's just possible that Brady amps the offense enough to win all of these games comfortably, so they don't end up in McMeltdown's hands at the end. Or, if they do end up with McDermott calling his patented prevent defense, they get lucky, like in the Giants game. You know, if McDermott practiced what he preaches, he would realize he is an excellent DC except in tight situations, and that in those situations he should hand over game management to someone with a more level head. What are the chances of that? Panics in tense situations AND a control freak.... What a deadly combination. ☹️
  21. Yeah, you got to wonder what the team thinks about McDermott at this inflection point with the season on the line. My sense is that they have mixed feelings, that they resist or resent him in several ways, but they know how things go south fast when a team turns on their coach. Who wants to be part of that? If they really make a charge, I suspect they'll be doing it in spite of McDermott, not because of him.
  22. Right. To be fair, that kept his production down as a pass catcher. Maybe that will change now that Brown seems to have turned the corner.
  23. It was a natural pick. But a rookie coordinator for a Super Bowl team? McDermott was wrong on that one, no matter if he agreed with the move or caved to Allen.
  24. Creed Humphrey should be available in the second round. We'd get an All-Pro on a rookie contract. /s
