LOL. That play where he downed the ball standing in the end zone was an all timer.
-
The guy is not a scrub. So what makes you think he is taking a cheap deal? There are 31 other NFL teams besides the Chargers. One or two will likely offer some good money. Some teams like the Commanders have a lot of money to burn if they so choose. We on the other hand do not.
-
Dolphins signing our scraps. Noone did less on the Bills then Siran Neal. Have no idea why we ever paid him more then vet minimun.
-
I like your positivity Rigotz. Hollins is an NFL player. He can run but is not overly twitchy. Kumerow caught one pass of note while on the Bills. The TD at Denver when we were already winning by 35 points. Sherfield was garbage. Looked like he had no idea what an NFL WR does. He had one reception of note all season too. If I practiced law like Sherfield played WR, I would have been living under a bridge for the past 25 years. Hollins is a faster Gabe Davis type at a much cheaper price. The Bills are in the top 6-8 organizations in the NFL. Beane always has a plan. Lets hope we get the best version of Mack Hollins. And playing with Josh Allen should give him some more juice then playing with Desmond Ritter or Derrick Carr.

Greg Rousseau 5th year option, extension candidate?
Paup 1995MVP replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills rotate their DE’s a lot. Rousseau has been a good but far from consistently dominant player. The Bills defense (especially the front 7) is not predicated on star players. Other than Milano. (And they were still good when he went down last year) It is the collective talent of the group as a whole versus individual players that has made them a very good if not great defense under McDermott IMO. And the secondary has always lead the defense. Rousseau has not earned a $19-$20 mill per year contract at this point. I would not give him the 5th year option. Let him earn that extension on the field through at least the first half of next season. And if his game has gone to the next level, then give him the big money. Spencer Brown has had one decent season. He has a ways to go to become very good, let alone elite. I am sure if his game continues on an upward trajectory, we will pay him fairly. -
I like Dorian Williams also. I see a lot of upside w his athleticism.
-
Our depth guys always end up playing. Because the NFL is the injury league. And last year our special teams sucked. (Good to see Neal was finally cut. Did he make more then half a dozen good plays in his career w the Bills?) And if this guy can make some plays when called upon at LB. And maybe be good on ST, then its a strong signing. Beane ain't signing scrubs.
-
He is about Ronnie Lott's size. And I remember Lott to be amazing. Matakevich can't play NFL LB. He might hot be able to play High School LB. And Klein moves like George Blanda in his later years. Guy was starting and calling D signals for a team that had just played in the Super Bowl. I doubt he sucks. And is probably pretty decent given the numbers he had last year. Our LB's are always getting injured. Welcome Nick Morrow. Lets get you that Super Bowl ring you've been longing for!!

Britt Reid Prison Term Already Commuted
Paup 1995MVP replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
I saw that video. That was awful. Just a bad guy. Hopefully bad ***** happens to him for the rest of his miserable life.. -
Floyd was invisible at the end of last season. I don’t think the Bills had any interest in resigning him. AJ still has great upside. What are the numbers on his contract?
-
Still need one more guy SC because Von is no sure thing. But I like resigning AJ a lot. He should be just coming into his prime.
-
They were a mess at the end of last season. Not worried about the Jags. That being said, good for Morse. Real solid player and a real good leader. Best of luck. But won't mind seeing Trevor boy get his assed kick all season long..

I think I have to bail on all offseason NFL media coverage
Paup 1995MVP replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for explaining yourself. Narrowing it down to the media always saying "why can't Allen beat Mahomes" makes more sense. That is always the simplistic and lazy version of things. Its a team game, way more then individual. So there can be a lot more reasons then QB 1 beating QB 2. But most in the national media just go for the easy take, and don't dig real deep. -
Do The Bills Have Enough "Elite" Talent?
Paup 1995MVP replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
No way Diggs is elite anymore. I would take good and occasionally very good for the next 2 years and be ecstatic. And that is the best ending that is ever happening for his career w the Buffalo Bills Douglas was a great pickup last year. He is tough smart. a leader. Just a dam good defensive back. -
Russ signs 1yr $1.2M deal with Pittsburgh
Paup 1995MVP replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wilson is a cancer. And he really isn’t very good anymore. -
Joe Marino's Locked on Bills Mock Free Agency
Paup 1995MVP replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has been decent at times. Tough player. Good teammate. Seems to get nicked up a good bit. Mediocre hands-can’t seem to catch the low passes very well. And isn’t winning a lot of jump ball type throws because he isn’t super athletic. Not a high ceiling player but doesn’t suck. But certainly seems overpaid for his production. Kincaid on the other hand can dominate and be a beast every week if he gets a little stronger and we make him a focal point of the offense which I think we will do. -
Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY
Paup 1995MVP replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dion has been a good solid (but not great) player for us. He still gets beat at times and starts getting grabby. A good leader also. But not a generational talent. He is certainly not top 5 at his position. If we were not going to pay Morse 8 mill this year, I can not imagine Beane paying Dawkins $20 mill going forward. But I don’t make those decisions for the team. Maybe Van De Mark can play LT. Or we draft one next year w a high pick. Or Dawkins takes a reasonable extension so he can finish his career w the Bills. Who do you think was better John Fina or Dion Dawkins? -
I think I have to bail on all offseason NFL media coverage
Paup 1995MVP replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow you sure sound paranoid. I follow the Bills religiously And I try and stay on top of the rest of the NFL as much as I can. Who is bashing the Bills? We have done well the past 6-7 years. Have a great QB. And an overall exciting team. And a great fan base. But we haven’t played in the Super Bowl. And our head coach is a pretty bland guy. And KC has won 3. And played in 4 in the past 5 years. So of course they will get props. Colin Cowherd always give us props. And so do many others who aren’t just fixated on black QB’s. I just worry about what the team is doing to improve in the offseason and how we are building our team. Also what other teams are doing. Because I just love the NFL. And like to be in the know. I don’t listen to all the jibber jabber because I don’t think it matters. There are 31 other teams in the NFL. And we’ll over 100 D1 college teams. I like to talk w fans from other teams than nine. (Bills and Michigan Wolverines) and get their take on things. Most respect the Bills and the Wolverines, as they should. So I don’t know where all this paranoia is coming from. When we win the Super Bowl we will be the king of the castle. And that is how it should be. -
Value: Safety is the new Running Back?
Paup 1995MVP replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those guys are good players, but not overly special. Except for probably Hamilton. The guys in the post you responded to were all HOF or border line HOF players. The game has changed where big hits are not what safety's do anymore. They basically are zone corners covering the deep part of the field. Defense has basically become a D Line and 7 guys between 190-225 pounds running around trying to be disruptive. They all seem pretty interchangeable except for a few special guys who can play boundary corner and cover the games best WR's one on one. The perfect example of that was the Cowboys defense. That did not work out so well against the Bills, or the Packers in the playoffs. Think about this. The Bills play little Taron Johnson as a hybrid LB at times. That would never have happened years ago. Very interesting. -
He was terrible for the Cowboys at the end of last season. He had nothing left against Green Bay in the playoffs.

No one is mocking anything Alpha. Tre’s time came and went due to injury. He hasn’t really been a major part of the team in over 2 seasons. He had a great start to his career. But the second part was all injury. Poyer was a stud who brought his best every week. I loved his game. But he lost a a step or two. Time to go. That’s pro sports. Real good guy and a good leader. But we need better then Poyer could give anymore. Morse was a war horse. Old school tough player. Great leader also. But he was expensive and we had to make the move. A very good player and much respected. But you can’t look back. We need to be better next season. I think Beane today is laying the groundwork for that. And that’s what really matters. FWIW I still wear my Bruce Paup jersey sometimes for big games. But I am not sad he is long gone from the team. That’s sports. Hopefully full of good memories. And love the players while they wear your team’s colors. i do miss Wayne Gretzky playing still. But he is a special case.

Could the Bills be looking at Denver?
Paup 1995MVP replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs wasn't playing 90-100% of snaps this past year. There is plenty of footballs for everyone. And I like Shakir also. But nothing wrong with having at least 4 good WR's. -
Mike Shula no longer with the Bills
Paup 1995MVP replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for that tidbit. I remember Mike too. The younger Shulas did not quite follow well in their Dad's footsteps. Maybe they should have worked at his steak houses in S. Florida instead.. -
Mike Shula no longer with the Bills
Paup 1995MVP replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was Mike Shula the Shula who coached the Bengals into the abyss in the 90's after Sam Wyche left? That guys record was absolutely terrible.
