You keep saying this. Back it up with more than words. I've got $200 (or more if you prefer) that says that the Pats have a winning record this year in games in which Brady finishes. Put up or shut up.

I'm actually rebutting your inane arguments. But it's okay, if you purposely misconstrue everything anybody says your argument will look much better. I don’t think anybody other than the original poster is making an argument that Brady is the best ever, just that he’s a great QB who, at the end of his career, may be considered one of the best. Anyway, this is a pointless endeavor. It’s threads like this that make me long for the days when BF was a poster here.

Take it for what it's worth trade rumor
MDH replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I had to hazard a guess I'd say it's perhaps a combination of the two. He might have been more inclined to take the season off if he wasn't watching his teammates struggle out there every week. -

Do you think he'd come back this soon if the Pats were undefeated and coasting? -
It seems you're comparing physically gifted QBs with guys that are less gifted and thinking that the players who aren't big-armed gunslingers aren't as good (perhaps I've misinterpreted what you're saying though). Personally, I believe it to be just the opposite. I think you could put a smart QB that is accurate and makes quick reads on any team and he'd succeed. Conversly, I think if you took a guy like Brett Favre and stuck him on a offense where he had to operate within the system he'd struggle mightily. Three step drop, make the read, and fire the ball? That just isn’t what Favre is good at. That being said, both players (Favre and Brady) have "it". That indefinable quality that allows them to make plays when their teams need it most. Elway had "it". Montana had "it". All the greats had "it". So, Brady can't throw the deep ball as well as some other QBs, so? Jeff George threw a great deep ball, how great was he? Brady is smart, accurate, makes quick reads, senses the rush, moves in the pocket to buy more time and is a proven winner who constantly seems to make plays to win games. What more can you ask for? That's pretty much the perfect QB. So he's not a gunslinger, okay. Physical ability isn't the most important thing in a QB. As long as the QB can make all the throws (and Brady can) it’s these other things that make a QB great. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen the Pats in a 3rd and long and Brady gets pressured, but he sidesteps the pass rush and finds a WR just past the sticks. It’s uncanny really. I can't even fathom people looking at this guy play and thinking "over-rated". I think the guy is under-rated actually. What other QB can accomplish so much and still have people question how good he is? Speaking of under-rated, one of the few QBs I've seen in recent years that could consistently make plays when his team needed it is Steve McNair (before his injury) and nobody ever mentions the guy. I'll admit, he took awhile to groom but at his peak the guy was one of the best QBs I've seen in the last 10 years. It's just a shame his peak only lasted a few seasons. And I’m sorry for my Fake Fat Skinny type post.

This just in, Kelly Holcomb is a better QB than Tom Brady. Fact: Kelly Holcomb is 2-0 this year without a dominating D Fact: Tom Brady is 3-3 this year without a dominating D Conclusion: Holcomb is (obviously) the better QB.
-
Umm, sure, I'm the one making that arguement. You caught me. It's a "fact" that he'd be a .500 without a dominating D? Where do you get this sh*t. Do you just make it up in your head and label it a "fact" to make yourself happy? If this is how you define “facts” then yeah, I really don’t want to argue “facts” with you. Yeah, let's take 6 games out of a career and label it a "fact". Anyhow, let's consider this season in which the Pats D is one of the worst in the league thus far. The Pats have played perhaps the toughest schedule in the league (Oak, Carolina, Pittsuburgh, SD, Atl & Denver) and aren't sub .500. Care to lay some money on this "fact"? Hell, you can't lose, it's a FACT they'll be .500 without a "dominating" D! I'll wager any amount of cash that the Pats finish with a winning record this year in every game that Brady plays the majority of the snaps at QB. Also, how about throwing me a link with your over 20 yards completion stats, I'm interested in taking a look at it.

I think this post took a wrong turn and somehow ended up in the wrong thread.

It's a little early to be speculating on next year. If this Bills team misses the playoffs (again) I don't see how the Bills brass could justify starting Holcomb next year.
-
Let's see what happens come Nov and Dec and the wind is blowing in off the lake. Arm strength, in general, isn't that important in the NFL as long as you can make all the throws. It's a little different in Buffalo.

Jets fans at the Ralph - Their Opinion
MDH replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've gone to four Bills/Jets games at the Medowlands. Each time I wore a Bills jersey and I never had any problems. If you don't get drunk and run your mouth you'll be fine...unless you get really unlucky and get seated near "that guy". -
And let's take take care of "noone" and "no one" while we're at it.

The most out of line thing that has been said in this thread is you comparing somebody to Andrew Dice Clay. That was uncalled for. Please apologize. -
Actually, their turnover ration is 2.1:1 I'm sure we'll see SDS chime in on this thread!
-
That "media" you're talking about includes many former players and coaches. All of whom hold Brady in high regard. I guess you must know something they don't. I can't even fathom how anybody can legitimately argue that the Ds the Pats face play them close to the LoS yet can't stop Brady and Co. from busting off 13 yard screen passes repeatedly (Brady's ypc is 12.73). Well, I can fathom it, said person doesn’t actually watch the games.
-
You honestly believe that defenses look at film of Brady, see that he doesn't throw the ball more than 5 yards and still somehow can't stop a Patriots offense that only uses a very small percentage of the field? Go watch some Pats games (and don't say you have, it's obvious you haven't). Brady throws lots of intermediant stuff, lots of short stuff and some long stuff. In other words, he uses the entire field, which is why he is so effective. I swear there are people that only saw Brady play his first year as a starter (when he did only dink and dunk the ball) and think he's the same QB now as he was then.
-
I agree with you that the Bills don't have much of a shot at winning the division (though, that’s why they play the games). That being said, a guy that isn't in football shape and who has a heart condition doesn't worry me in the least. If he suits up two weeks from now it will be to the Bills advantage, not disadvantage.

I see why you're pissed off. You seem to believe that he killed three people. He only killed two. It's really no big deal. It's three strikes and you're out, not two. -
You conveniently ignored the other part of my post. How is it that Brady can average 7.99ypa when he's dinking it down the field while other guys in the league (who throw down the field) have a higher completion percentage but a lower ypa? I'm assuming your argument would be that the defenses Brady faces don't realize that all he can do is dink it and dunk it down the field and they're caught out of position on the 30 screen passes the Pats run each week...
-
You need to stop letting your hatred blind you. Brady averages 7.99 yards per attempt, good for 3rd best in the league. You simply can't do that if the majority of your passes aren't going past the line of scrimmage. Bulger, who throws the ball down field plenty, has a higher completion percentage than Brady and still doesn't average as much as Brady does per attempt. Same goes for Carson Palmer...and Peyton Manning...and Matt Hasselbeck...and the list goes on. If it makes you feel better to do so go ahead and be the blindman. Personally I would rather respect the Bill's opponents rather than underestimate them. Obviously I'm in the minority on this board.

Sweet, another OJ thread. I was wondering if he'd get one today. Wonder no more! I hope somebody steps up to the plate tomorrow. -
How many carries do you want Willis to get this year? I, for one, don't want him to get anywhere near 400. If the Bills want to run the ball 30+ times a game they need to share the load a little bit.
-
How exactly did you come up with this? Four weeks is somehow the magical number to determine if a QB will take longer than 1 year to develop?
-
My favorite quote from the article: Hey, Dunn is a good back, but King can't name 3 RBs in the league that are better? Umm, okay.

Inability to stop the run: where's the problem?
MDH replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the excuse given but after seeing every single team run all over us I'm more inclined to believe it was just our shoddy run D.
