  1. Worst case scenario is that we're in playoff contention up until the final weeks but don't make it in. We'll have sacrificed the entire season for a playoff pipe dream, lost a top 10 draft pick and (most importantly) lost an entire year of Losman learning on the job. The way the Bills seem to be snake bit, this will probably end up happening.
  2. Preparing isn't really going to do much more for him. He needs to get used to the speed of the game, which can only happen by playing.
  3. Yeah, we'll wait till next year for that though. Well, unless next year people lack the patience yet again, at which point we'll let him learn two years from now...
  4. Yep, we probably would have lost without him. Of course, we don't get to play the Dolphins every game at home. We also don't get to play teams that turn the ball over 5 times and commit 18 penalties. Holcomb isn't going to be enough after next week's game against the Jets. This team is bad, plain and simple. I'd like to convince myself that they'll magically get better but I haven't been able to do it yet.
  5. No, these things are obviously mutually exclusive. Duh.
  6. ..........................ok........................cool.......................thanks...........................for..........................your..............................input.........................
  7. I'm not complaining about Holcomb's performance. He made a few mistakes (the handoff/fumble to McGahee, the backwards pass) but he played well overall. I'm talking about the entire team. The offense couldn't move the ball after Q1 and the D couldn't stop the run....again. This team isn't very good no matter who the QB is, which is the problem. Of course, if I don't "enjoy" the win in the exact same way as you I don't "deserve" to be a fan.
  8. Who cares about a passer rating? Does a high passer rating give us extra points at the end of the game? I care about how the offense moved the ball, how the D stopped the run and how the team played overall. Holcomb played better than JP, that's obvious. But what did it mean in the end? The team looked pretty much the same. If the Dolphins aren't bumbling fools we lose this game going away.
  9. Okay blindman, you're right, everything was just great!
  10. 720P is better for everything. Progressive scan is far superior to interlaced.
  11. Chipewa Ave.? Elmwood Strip? WTF are those? No, I'm not a Buffalo native, which is the point here. Do you really think anybody outside of Buffalo has a f'in clue what the hell those are? You'd have been better off saying, "hey, I guess he's never heard of hanging out on the Maiden of the Mist!" At least people outside of Buffalo know what the hell that is.
  12. First of all, you sound like BF defending Artest. This, in and of itself, should be embarrassing to you. Secondly, do you really think Bills fans are any different? Check out thet hread currently on the front page of this site where Buffalo natives have their panties in a bunch over some comments made by about their city.
  13. Thurman never played for the Dolphins, that was just a bad dream you had.
  14. RJ's stats always looked pretty, the end result was rarely a W though.
  15. I'm positive I still hate the benching of JP.
  16. Percentage of plays from scrimmage which are runs: 1 Pittsburgh – 61.5% 2 Atlanta – 61.1% 3 San Diego – 54% 4 Tampa Bay - 53.6% 5 Washington – 52.2% 6 Indianapolis – 51.9% 7 Buffalo – 51.8% 8 Carolina – 50.8% 9 Dallas – 50.2% 10 Denver – 49.7% So Buffalo currently is in the 7th spot in % of run plays. Granted sacks are not included in the stats, which would probably bump buffalo down a few places (counting sacks as pass plays Buffalo runs the ball on 49.3% of its plays...I'm not doing the math for all the other teams, sorry). Even being ranked 7th in this category they still should have been running the ball more than they have been, particularly with a brand new QB under center and a line that is proficient at run blocking and not much else. If Pittsburgh is the model Buffalo still has a ways to go.
  17. Anything is possible. However, history illustrates that a young QB generally needs a year of playing time before the game slows down for him. It's not going to happen on the sidelines so the odds are that JP will use next year to struggle (instead of this one). Of course, the negative side of me tells me that after 2-3 games next year people will want to put back in Holcomb and JP will be the first round QB that got a grand total of 7 starts in his career before being labled a "bust".
  18. Nobody is saying that JP (or any young QB) is a sure thing, but if you don't have the patience to watch the kid grown THEN YOU DON'T DRAFT A QB EARLY IN THE DRAFT. Once the decision has been made to go with the young kid, you go with him.
  19. And your definition of "winning now" means going to the playoffs for a single year and being one and done? Personally, I'd like to set the Bills up for an extended period in which they are contenders. That's never going to happen with Holcomb leading the Bills. This is classic credit card mentality. The need for immediate gratification outweighs doing what everybody knows is in their better long-term interests.
  20. I wasn't pleased with the Bills signing Holcomb at all. I knew the moment JP struggled people would be screaming to put in Holcomb because they have the patience of a 2 year old. I would have liked to have seen complete stiffs behind Losman. That way there wouldn’t have been an option to pull him.
  21. The only question that matters: Can Kelley Holcomb lead us to the Super Bowl this year? If he can't then we're just wasting time.
  22. No, I'm the exact opposite of optimistic in predicting an 8-8 finish. It’s the way the Bills can screw themselves in the worst possible way, which is why I think it will happen.
  23. Of course this team is going to win 8 games. Hell, it might even be 9. You know why? Because they'll win enough games to just miss the playoffs thereby setting JP's development back an entire year while at the same time giving us the worst draft pick available to a non-playoff participant. That’s the Bills MO, to screw themselves in the worst possible way every time. But hey, maybe they’ll be able to sell some “DO YOU BILLIEVE?!” T-Shirts along the way.
  24. Of course Moulds backs the decision, his career is coming to a close and he doesn't want to wait around for Losman to develop. I don't blame him for that opinion, but I don't believe that's in the Bills best interests overall. 8-8 here we come!
  25. Let's not forget that they're near the bottom of the league in opponents converting on 3rd down as well.
