He doesn'tt have the INTs needed to be considered Rian Leaf bad. But yeah, he's been putrid. JP is a bright kid who has a solid work ethic and fantastic physical skills. The odds of his career being Rian Leaf bad are pretty slim. Leaf only had one of those things going for him.

A culprit on pass blocking breakdowns:
MDH replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would appear that Willis was the primary receiver on that play, which is why he let the guy go. It was another of those designed rollouts where JP dumps the ball off to a guy 5 yards in front of him (I've seen enough of this play to last me a lifetime). Of course, a LB picked him up so JP had no place to go with it and instead of throwing the ball away (like he should have) he decided to try and make the DE miss. Bad decision. Willis hasn't been great on blitz pickup, but I tag that sack on JP, not Willis. -
Damn, I didn't know RJ could be used on D to shore up our run D. That guy was a talent!

There so many permutations that you should always take every single point you can get. If you don't know how the game is going to turn out you take every single point for you may need it later. Also, if a single point doesn't matter, then why bother going for 2? It's only going to give you 1 more point than if you didn't go for it... I can't even believe I'm bothering with this. If you don't understand it now you never will.

You're not seeing the big picture here. It's not about how many games end only 1 point apart, its how you play the rest of the game. Missing the PAT could put you back 4 points instead of 3 at the end of the game. You need a TD to win instead of a FG to tie. Do you have the stats for how many times that's happened at the end of a game? It could put you down 9 instead of 8, meaning you need two possessions. Do you have the stats for how many times that's happened? Those are only two examples, there are so many ways it can effect the game you can't simply say give a flat stat and say, "see, it's not that big of a deal." Well, you can say it, but you'd be wrong.

Why is it I ask if the O Line is so BAD....
MDH replied to 40+ Year Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is pure BS. They'd look better because the Pats have a QB that makes them look better. All the whining on this board about the Pats "cheating" or getting "breaks" is just sour grapes. -
Carson Palmer wasn't "Carson Palmer" last year after 3 games either. Hell, very few QBs come out of the gate looking good; it doesn't mean they won't eventually be quality players. If every coach gave up on QBs as quickly as the people on this board there would be very few QBs who started more than 3 games in their entire career.

It doesn't matter if the point is made or not? So you're willing to throw away multiple points a game because "it doesn't matter" at "that point"? I'd rather not have wins and losses come down to a "crap shoot". You take every single point you can get at any given point in the game, period.

First 3 Games in 2005 Compared to the
MDH replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe not, but I really don't think our schedule is as difficult as many have made it out to be. Carolina, while good, is not (at this time) a legitimate SB threat like people predicted. Denver isn't that great. The Jets suck ass. The Raiders are winless. San Diego is better than their record, but they don't strike me as an elite team either. Cinci, Kansas City and our 2 Pats games are really the only games which I look at and say, "that's a definite L"...and that's saying something considering how badly the Bills are capable of playing. -
If the only NFL football I got to see was the Niners against the Cardinals I might be upset enough to throw crap on the field too. The NFL is trying to gain popularity in other countries by exporting this game as an example of the product?

Actually its even worse than you say. The Falcons 2nd and 3rd stringer CBs didn't even suit up. Neither did their 4th. They had to sign players last week just to have the needed bodies. So when Hall went down the Falcons were missing their 1-4th string CBs and had a bunch of street free agents on the field covering Moulds and Evans. As for the 2 point conversion matter, you are absolutely incorrect. A team should never go for 2 unless it is late in the game. Why go for 2, so you have a nice neat number early in the game? There are so many different scoring scenerios that can play out between then and the end of the game its not in your team's best interest to not take every single free point they can get. Unless you can accurately predict the future and know that a 2 point conversion at that very moment will be the difference between winning and losing, its a bad idea to go for 2 that early.

Bledsoe didn't take us to the playoffs the past 3 years and that was with the D playing very good/great during the majority of those years. Somehow Bledsoe is going to lead us to the playoffs this year when the D is playing like sh-- when he didn't do it before? I just don't get the reasoning here.
-
You drop back and play zone against them on 3rd and long. Rush 4, maybe even 3, making sure they stay in their lanes. If Vick takes off you have a much better shot at containing him with this D than you do with 6+ rushers running up-field. In the later scenario all Vick has to do is get by the initial rush and the first down is pretty much guaranteed (as we saw). I don't blame JG for trying something different against Vick, but once he saw it wasn't working he should have taken the more conventional approach.
-
If Jerry Gray stops all out blitzing Vick on 3rd downs and makes him pass to beat us this game might have turned out differently. They played right into Atlanta's strength by blitzing the way they did.

The only thing that is really worrying me about Losman right now is his accuracy. The game moving too fast for him, his hesitancy, his reads...all that comes in time. The accuracy thing has me scratching my head. I didn't see him play much in college but I have to believe that he is a more accurate passer than he's shown thus far. The guy wouldn't have been drafted at all if this was how accurate he was at Tulane. So I'm just hoping he's pressing too much or a little tight (or some other psychological explanation for it) because otherwise its inexplicable how he can't even come close to many of his targets when he’s been doing this most of his life.

Freddy Smith was returning punts today. -
My real preferance is to not have the board filled with speculation on how posters think the Bills would be doing with Bledsoe at the helm...
-
Or there are many posters on the board who can sit back and see both the good moves and bad moves that TD has made. The world (and football) isn't as black and white as most here make it sound.

You keep repeating this line as if you believe it makes you sound intelligent...

everyone said at the begining of the year...

Good thing you can make the determination that he's the next Kyle Boller after 3 starts. What an amazing eye you must have. -
We don't NEED to see what Bledsoe does with another team. We saw him here for 3 years. Did he play well enough in his 3 years here to warrant staying? That's what matters, not whether or not he plays well/poorly with Dallas.
-
This "run-on-us-at-will" defense is ready to win now? I'll admit, I thought the same thing a month ago, but not now. They have to show me something first, which will be even more difficult without Spikes around.
-
Exactly.

Pure speculation, which is why doing this kind of prognosticating is worthless as there's no way of proving/disproving it. Who knows if Drew throws 3INTs 1 returned for a TD, Gets sacked 5 times and fumbles twice, or lights it up with 4TD passes. It’s an entirely different game once you start changing players. I have no clue why people even bother looking at the Cowboys and saying "SEE!" or coming up with brilliant statements like "we would have won/lost today with Drew".
