  1. Didn't you order a Holcomb jersey before camp even started? It doesn't sound like you had any intention of ever giving the guy a chance. So how can we take anything you say seriously? Not that it matters, nobody needs to see some mystery tape, we can check out his footwork in the GB scrimmage and in the preseason games and make an informed decision for ourselves. Also, I find it interesting that you've been able to determine something that the coaches have not been able to: That Losman will be a bust because of his mechanics. I guess they need to check out that tape too, otherwise they'll continue to be in the dark. You may be right, Losman might be a bust (the odds aren't that long on 1st round QBs ending up as busts). However, I'd say that if you are right it would be the equivalent of a blind squirrel finding an nut. And don't even bother with the "blind JP follower" crap. I have yet to decide what I think of JP, I havne't seen enough of him yet. Nobody has.
  2. The guy is trying to talk football and all you've got for him is "you're a troll." I guess anybody that disagrees with you is a troll? He's not trying to start sh--, in fact, he's doing is best to avoid your crap. Its a sad f'in day when I come to the defense of a Pats fan...
  3. And this is exactly why players should hold out. Because by the time their contracts are up the teams can say, "thanks for what you've done for us, but your best years are behind you!" I hope your info on Ward is incorrect, he's one of the guys in the league I admire the most.
  4. This board just kills me.
  5. You seem to be under the impression that player's contracts are guaranteed. The day teams don't cut guys that aren't producing like they should (or hell, who ARE producing but cost too much) is the day I don't think a player should have the right to hold out to get his market value. Its a two way street. TO signed a deal last year. When he signed the deal he was one of the top 2 WRs in the league. That's still the same today. Hence, I think his demands are ridiculous. Ward, however, has played the good soldier and outplayed his contract year in and year out. Going into the final year of his contract he wants some security from the team he's played his guts out for. I don't blame him. Pittsburgh should pay up and thank Ward for the job he's done for them for way under market value.
  6. And let's not forget the O is also going against one of the best Ds in the league. I don't really expect them to light it up against our D.
  7. NS, talk about a guy that needs to hit the weight room. His belly dwarfs his chest and shoulders. I don't think I've ever seen a guy that big with shoulders that small before.
  8. AD had it right, it's all about the money. Everything else springs from that. That being said, I have no clue what's up with people on this board bashing spanish speakers non-stop. I guess people enjoy feeling superior in any way they can. It's kind of sad really.
  9. Wow, and English is superior to all other languages I take it?
  10. What kind of self-respecting coach would allow the owner to make personel decisions for him? If RW really made the call Wade should have quit on the spot. That being said, I have no clue why anybody wants to rehash this crap up all over again. Flutie sucked. RJ sucked. End of story.
  11. Well that's the gamble, isn't it?. The player hopes he doesn't get injured like Law did. Law made the smart play, it just didn't pan out for him. If he doesn't get injured he hits paydirt.
  12. Williams is already an above average RT. What you're not realizing is that most of the top DE pass rushers in the game today come from the left side of the D more often than the right. I'm all for leaving Williams at RT as he's our best tackle and this matches generally matches him up against the best ends.
  13. If McNally was really that confident in Gandy would Teague be getting any reps at LT during camp...
  14. Just saying "it would make him the highest paid player in their history" doesn't mean its a fair market contract. You have to compare it to other WRs contracts out there right now. Year in and year out the guy is consistently one of the best WRs in the league. I'm sure he feels like he should be compensated like one.
  15. Are you under the illusion that this only occurs in the music industry? You can change the subject to, "This is one of the things that's wrong with the world."
  16. I don't even regard Price that highly, but I believe his numbers are down as far as they are primarily because of Vick's deficiencies as a QB.
  17. They could give you 6 months to complete the Tour de France and you couldn't finish it. Saying "any yahoo" can ride a bike is like saying "any yahoo can run, Jesse Owens is nothing special" or "any yahoo can dribble a basketball, Jordan sucks." And the water comment is just hilarious, when's the last time you saw Jordan play an entire game without an intake of fluids during timeouts or when he was resting on the bench? Armstrong is one of the finest conditioned athletes we've seen in the past 20 years (if not THE finest). I can't speak for his overall athletic ability, but to instantly discount him because "all" he does is ride a bike is moronic. That being said, of the athletes listed in the poll I'd have to go with Jim Thorpe. Nobody has come close to doing what Thorpe did in his time. Sure modern athletes that have better strength/conditioning than Thorpe did thanks to science and technology advancements. I'd say that Thorpe could compete with the best of them today given the same diet/conditioning that today's athletes enjoy.
  18. Why not just get rid of Pele and ask the question, "Best American athlete of all time" since that's what just about everybody's reference points are limited to. Somehow I doubt that all the best athletes the world has ever known have all come from the same country...
  19. People are just hoping that NE takes a huge step back this year. Wiess leaving will be the big hit, Belichick could have handled the D by himself easily. Why he didn't hire an OC is beyond me, its probably an ego thing. That being said, they have too much talent on both sides of the ball not to win 10 games. They won't be as good as last year but they'll make the playoffs and be a legit contender by the end of the year to win it all again. As for the Jets, it all depends on Pennington. They have a talented roster but if Pennington's arm isn't 100% (or if he gets hurt again) their playoff chances take a big hit. Miami will suck. Saban bit off more than he can chew as a new NFL head coach and GM. The guy might be a great coach but its tough for anybody to take on both those responsibilites and do them well, much less a guy trying to acclimate himself to the NFL. I'll go out on a limb and say Saban won't last more than 3 years with the Fins.
  20. My first thoughts when I heard about his injury were "I wonder if he regrets taking way less money for a shot to win Super Bowls now that his career may be cut short." The way I look at it these guys have to get everything they can while they're still able because they never know when their careers will be done. Of course, I realize my view isn't the prevailing fan view.
  21. I can pretty much guarantee you'll be the only one with one of those!
  22. I'll agree Clements was one of the best last season, but let's see if he can do it again. The year before last Clements was toasted so often that even my wife, who only half way watches the games, was commmenting, "who is that number 22 that gets beat all the time." Clements has all the talent in the world, but he needs to put it together every week and be consistant. He was last year, let's see if he can continue with that trend.
  23. By increasing his productivity I suppose you mean moving from the 3rd WR in the AFC in receptions to 2nd or 1st? The guy had 88 receptions last year, if people think that Evans can put up those types of numbers they're kidding themselves. Evens is more explosive but he'll never be the "go to" guy that puts up those types of receptions, he simply doesn't have the body type, and frankly, its a waste of his skills. A Team needs an explosive guy and a productive guy, we have that now. If Moulds leaves we'll have to replace him with a WR capable of putting up 80+ receptions every year and leave Evans to keep doing what he did last year. The only problem I see with Moulds' game from last year is his ypc could be about a yard more, which would put him right there with Marvin Harrison, Chad Johnson and Hines Ward.
  24. A new DT in the middle will probably contribute to Fletcher getting fewer tackles as more OL will make their way through and get their hands on the LBs on running plays.
  25. Why would an agent care what the fans think or care about his public perception? I'd wager that these guys think they're doing a great job if they're hated by the fans...
