The screen pass is the staple of our offense. That and the 6 yard curl.

If the Bills didn't like it they should have stopped it. It's not like they didn't know a run was coming...

He's not even on the active roster for many of the games.

This is Week 7 - think each defensive player

In the immortal words of Greg Willaims, they "just need to execute better." -

You don't need Sanders to suit up again to have an example of a nondescript big time RB...the NFL has LT. The guy is the real deal, an all time talent and he does the same thing Barry did when he hits pay-dirt. Many questioned whether San Diego made the right move in trading away the 1st pick in the draft and not taking Vick. I don't think anybody questions it now. Can anybody argue that Vick is more valuable than LT, even if you don't bring Brees into the equation? -
Yeah, those too!

Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus.

I'm not so sure she'll murder the person in question, but everybody else will. There are lots of "clicks" on this board and the moment you cross one person everybody from that "click" will jump on you. Lori, however, has no single “click”. She is the Ferris Bueller of TWS; She’s very popular. The sportoes, sluts, bloods, geeks, wasteoids, dweebies, d*ckheads, they all adore her. They think she's a righteous dude.

Below are Tom Brady's career stats for "bombs", throws that are in the air for 40+ yards. As a comparison, I've included Manning's as he's considered a "real threat" with the long ball. Brady (5 seasons*)- 12 of 42 (28.6% comp) for 638 yards 6TDs 6INTs Manning - (8 seasons*)- 9 of 39 (23% comp) for 499 yards 5TDs 3INTs * this includes the 6 games played be each this season. So, the guy that “can't” throw the ball more than 20 yards has more completions, attempts, yards, and TDs in his career than Manning on balls in the air over 40 yards…and he’s done it in 3 fewer seasons than Manning. He also has a better completion percentage as well as a better YPA (15.2 for Brady vs. 12.8 for Manning). Granted, Manning is better at the intermediate stuff than Brady, but this notion that Brady "can't" throw the deep ball is pure make-believe.

If you havent noticed every single player that comes out of California is "smug" or "California cool" or some other version of the same insult. Apparently, in the history of the sport, nobody that has ever come from California has been a decent guy.

Willis talks a little birthday smack

Smart move? Yeah, it's about as smart as the Bills D praising themselves before the Tampa Bay game only to have Tampa run all over them. After the game Tampa players were litterally laughing at the Bills D. I guess the Bills D got in Tampa's head too? -

I didn't read the entire piece but from what I did read I'm scratching my head. He seems to be more interested in the view he has of the area surrounding the stadium than he is with how great the stadium is to watch a game in. Who cares if “from various points around the stadium, you can see Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and the Seattle skyline” or if “millions of burnt-orange and red leaves frame the north end zone.” Are we on a nature hike or watching a football game here? He rarely even mentions anything about watching a football game in these stadiums. -
In two games he's attempted only 5 passes over 10 yards. That needs to change.

If I recall correctly that was a short slant where the CB fell down and Evans took it to the 1 (though had he lept for the goal line he would have scored easily).

What worries me the most is his apparent lack of confidence in his own ability to throw it deep. The fact that Holcomb checks down on virtually every single deep play call tells me something. It's very unlikely that the D has it double covered every single time . Holcomb needs to put the ball up there and let Evans or Moulds make a play. (or get a PI call, which seem to happen on about 1/4 of all deep throws in the NFL).

Our run D. 158 yards a game and 5.3 ypc against is just pathetic. If this D was halfway decent at stopping the run this team would be a legitimate playoff contender.

I'm not particularly concerned with passes that travel 35+ yards in the air. It's great the stretch the field once in a while but not that big of a concern if they don't connect regularly. That being said, they need to take shots down the field more than once every two games, which is what they've done so far under Holcomb. What I'd like to see are a hell of a lot more passes in the 15-20 yard range. Unless a passing game uses all of the field it's really not going to be successful on a regular basis. With the exception of the Cambell completion last week I'm struggling to come up with any other mid range passes in the past few weeks.

I'll take a wild guess and say every team's fans.

The best player on the team (other than Willis) is our #2CB? I admire his KO return ability too, but it doesn't catapult him that far up the list. I'm guessing if you talked to the players they'd mention lots of vets as the "heart and soul" before McGee. I’d have to say Spikes and Fletcher are the heart and soul of the D.

I never saw a game at Candelstick but the worst stadium I've ever been in was the Vet in Philly. Just a shi*thole. The Georgia Dome is a great place to watch a game in comparison. -
Yeah, I agree with you. Young is the best QB I've seen play in my lifetime as well. The guy could do it all and really didn't have any weaknesses in his game. It's a shame how bad QBing in the NFL has become. In the early/mid 90s there were a ton of great QBs playing the game. Today I can name three (and Favre is on his last legs). Granted, there are some younger QBs that might end up being great.
-
If by "be exposed" you mean that he leads the league in yards passing, has a 62% completion percentage and a passer rating of 92, yeah, you're right. All this with no semblance of a running game. The only bright spot of the Patriots season thus far has been the play of Brady. Yeah, that sounds like a “slightly better than mediocre QB”, sure. I have no clue where you're coming up with this "exposed" garbage. Sure the cumulative loss of both coordinators and all the talent is more important than Brady to the team. However, no single loss is nearly as important to the team as Brady. So you really think that if the Pats had Ted Johnson they’d suddenly be world-beaters on D? He alone would be able to make a significant impact on the 164 points they’ve allowed already (second worst in the league)? This is a team game. Brady doesn't deserve all the credit for winning the SB three times and I have yet to see anybody give him all the credit. He had a very good team around him. He was, however, the most important part of the equation (well, other than Belichick). I can’t think of a single SB champ that had a sh*tty overall team and a great QB that the team rode to victory. It just doesn’t happen that way. Teams struggle to win sometimes, even when they have led by great QBs. Anyway, this is getting old. None of you guys proclaiming Brady has been “exposed” are willing to back up any of your outlandish claims with a wager, which tells me you’re just blowing hot air. The Pats D is one of the worst in the league right now and the O has been reduced to throwing way more than they would like. In other words, they’re riding Brady. Yet, you don’t have enough confidence in your opinion to throw down some cash. What, you’re scared that a “slightly better than mediocre QB” can somehow put the team on his back and salvage a winning season? Get back to me when you have the courage of your convictions; otherwise this is a waste of time. The worst part of all this is I’ve felt compelled to defend the star player of a team I f’in hate because I hate idiocy more than I do the Patriots.
-
Yeah, the Pats slow start to one season eliminates everything else that Brady has done. Elway, Montana, Marino...none of these guys ever played for a team that was .500 at one point during the season. That is a solid argument you've got going there.

Go back and read the posts. Nobody is saying what you think they are. The words "the best" and "one of the best" aren't the same thing. Then again, misconstruing what people say appears to be your prime directive in this thread. Not to mention the point you're making in this thread has nothing to do with him not being "the best", you're saying he's an average QB. And nice job backing off your stance that all Brady is nothing but a .500 QB without a dominating D. Yeah, a 6 game sample set is clearly enough. Given the chance to see the entire season play out it appears you're not so confident in your position… You remind me of the network stats they throw up during NFL games. In every game the announcers will proclaim any number of players as “one of the best” at their position. To back this up they take whatever obscure stat(s) they can find over a very specific period of time to “prove” this. “Warrick Dunn is one of the best backs in the league. Over the last 19 games he has had more games with multiple 14+ yard runs than any other back in the league.” You do this same thing only in reverse. Obviously you can’t take the entirety of Brady’s career to make your point (as it’s been nothing but a success story) so you lock in on small things to “prove” your point.
