  1. Why do these types of threads even exist? In the aftermath of a huge comeback, the Patriots getting pummeled by the lowly Phins and the Bills having sole possession of 1st place for the first time in years people feel the need to make negative comments about a Bills player who didn't even play today. Just pathetic.
  2. Most of those are pretty good. Not sure the, "just not our day folks" really belongs with the rest of them though. I'm sure just about all Bills fans had a thought or two similar to that today - which is completely different than the "we totally suck!" type statements.
  3. If a Patriot player does that this board is going crazy calling them cheapshot artists. A Bill does it and people love it. Go figure.
  4. Because if they miss the 2 point conversion they're only up 8 points - which is one score. Kicking the extra point and going up 9 is the right call.
  5. It would be a mistake the fire Kiffen - his team came out and played above their heads on the road. If you fire the guy after that you're going to lose your team.
  6. Deferring is the smart move. It gives you the chance of getting an extra possession over the course of the game. It’s also a smart move in terms of momentum in my book as the D is the stronger untit of the two. Let them come out and set the tone for the Bills.
  7. That D was very good last year. You can't hide your QB in this league and having 10 pass attempts a game isn't going to get it done in most games. Unless Russle develops quickly the Raiders are a bottom 10 team Imo. They'll have plenty of games like today where they can't hold on to win.
  8. Could they have taken any longer running the next play? Get your butts to the LoS and snap the ball immediately so the review doesn't happen.
  9. I prefer this type of over the top to the QB debate slugfest, the bashing of the coaching staff/front office or the trashing of Jason Peters. I'm a little leery of fully believing but it's still the most excited I've been at the start of the season since the Bills trashed the Pats 5 (?) years ago to open the season (and we all know how that season ended.)
  10. I'm pumped up and excited as hell at the start the Bills have gotten off to, but I don't consider them real contenders until they secure a playoff spot. "Contenders" in my book means capable of winning it all. Get in the playoffs and anything can happen. The team simply hasn't done enough in the past few years to be given the benefit of the doubt in terms of assuming they'll be there at the end. Too many times have they been in the running for a WC spot only the stumble in December – that being said, thus far this looks like an entirely different team. I hope it stays that way.
  11. Such is the nature of a young QB. Both Eli and Ben have looked up and down as well - I'd say Cutler's "up" is much higher than either of the other two though.
  12. I'd rank 'em differently too. Personally, I don't know how somebody can watch Romo or Cutler play and then say Big Ben or Eli are better than either of them (and it pains me to say it because I hate the f'in Cowboys.) I believe they are overvaluing Super Bowl wins when it comes to evaluating an individual QB's play. Eli was scattershot over 4 years and then caught fire for 4 weeks - does that make him better than Romo or Cutler? Not in my book (if he keeps it going all season I’ll change my tune though.) Big Ben game managing his way to a SB victory is quality team quarterbacking but not something that makes me stand up and say "Wow, that guy is amazing." Ben was very good last year but it doesn't wipe away his horrid season 2 years ago. To this day the Steelers still just have Ben manage the games - which I can't really take issue with given their defense and the success they’ve had doing it. But when I watch Romo and Cutler I sit up and take notice of the QB play - their ability to hit the big play, to make something out of nothing or to fire the ball in there when there doesn't appear to be much space (Cutler dazzles at this last one.) The only thing one could really question about them is their success in the playoffs – but if you stick either of those guys on the Giants or Steelers in their Super Bowl years (with those great Ds) I think they’d have way more success than they have until this point. Of course, this is pure speculation on my part… As you said all 5 of those guys have had loads of success at this point but in my book there is a rather large gap between Romo and Cutler and the rest of that list (particularly Rivers – who is a distant 5th.)
  13. So now a RB isn't doing a great job because he has lots of 2 yard runs? Newsflash - EVERY RB has lots of 2 yard runs. If McFadden was consistently running for 4 yards per carry in addition to his big plays the guy would be averaging almost 10 yards per carry instead of 7. Somehow people get it in there heads that because the league average per rush is 4 yards that EVERY run is supposed to go for a minimum of 4 yards. It just doesn't work that way. I also notice that the auther fails to mention that McFadden is averaging 7 ypa with no semblance of a passing game to help him out. But yeah, his 2 yard runs are a determent to his team.
  14. Same, I'm cursing the dumbass for killing me.
  15. Only Al Davis would consider firing his coach 2 games into the season instead of making the move when a smart owner would - the offseason. If you had issues with him Al you should have bit the bullet and gotten rid of him in January instead of just hoping you could force him to resign and save yourself some cash. Or you could take another approach...like give a coach 3 years to see if he can implement his plan to turn your pathetic franchise around. I don’t know much about Kiffen but the guy has won 5 out of the past 18 games for a franchise that only won 2 games in the entire 2006 season. That's not a dramatic turnaround but the team looks bounds better than it did under Art Shell. Oh, and how about giving a coach the right to choose his own coaching staff? That might help too.
  16. If the Bills handle the Raiders and Rams it's only because they suck, the Cards are obviously overrated having beaten two horrible teams, the Chargers obviously suck as they are 0-2*, the Jets are overrated, the Pats don't have Brady, the Browns look horrible, KC and the Niners are two of the worst teams in the league, and the Broncos only win because the refs give it to them. Looking at that schedule I don't think we're allowed to get excited this season, even if the Bills win every game.
  17. And everybody thinks they are part of the "smart" 5%...
  18. Does this mean that ESPN hates the Cowboys too? They're listed in 3rd in the NFC East.
  19. WHAT?!! I thought it was obvious that he had serious mental issues and his surgery was botched and he was trying to cash in on a contract knowing that he'd never play in the NFL again. I'm not sure how you could sugget otherwise.
  20. The Pats season is not done. Brady is a great QB but that team has a lot of good players on it (including fantastic DT play - which as we saw yesterday helps a D a ton.) The Pats will still battle for a playoff spot - and the AFC East crown - it's just not longer a foregone conclusion that they'll win the East. Personally I still see the Pats winning 10 games this year.
  21. So if an injury befalls the Bills it will be because of the bad karma collected from all these classless fans cheering the Brady injury?
  22. Just someone who realizes that a LOT of football is left to be played and lots can happen during the course of a season.
  23. It's one week into the season - let's not get ahead of ourselves.
  24. I know that's the stat they put up but it's not true. The O scored 2 TDs - Royal and Lynch. I guess they gave the ST credit for that Royal TD because the ST came up with the turnover on the play before. That being said, the ST was spectacular today (as was the D.)
  25. That there are 13 seconds left and he has to try to put the ball up and let his WR make a play in single coverage?
