  1. I feel like I've read this somewhere before.
  2. The common thread is most of those is that their primary RB was reaching the end of the line. Both Faulk and Dillon were old backs about the hang it up. Deuce was coming off a knee injury and even if he wasn't I'm guessing Bush was just too good of a prospect to pass up. As for Chris Perry, he was drafted before Rudi had really taken over the starting job. The year before they drafted Perry Rudi only started a handful of games. The Bengals had just let Dillon go and were unsure if of what they had in Rudi. The bottom line is I don't think any of those picks was that surprising. Most of those are akin to Houston drafting Peterson, sure they have a guy but he's old and they could break in Peterson slowly.
  3. Everybody has this hard on for Willis, and I agree I think he'd be a great pick for the Bills. That being said I think Poz would be just as good for the Bills. The guy was a hell of a LB, is fast, has good latteral movement, is pretty good in coverage and is a tackling machine. As long as Crowell can successfully make the transition to MLB (or the Bills could take someone like Beason in the 2nd round) I think Poz works just as well for this team and gives them the potential to pick up more picks by moving down in the draft to get him (though I'm not really sure if Marv is that interested in trying to milk the draft for all it's worth in terms of trading down). I really wouldn't mind seeing the Bills draft LBs in the first and second rounds as long as there are players there that fit the bill. As for RBs, there are so few teams that need RBs it's going to push some good RBs down in the draft and enable the Bills to pick one up later on day one. I wouldn't mind the Bills waiting until round 3 to draft a RB (like Pittman).
  4. I wouldn't think that this story was particularly newsworthy if it wasn't for the age of the kids. They were in Kindergarten. Anybody working with kids that young has to have more patience than that.
  5. Working in a Harold & Kumar quote, not bad, not bad at all.
  6. Holcomb's Arm doesn't post much anymore.
  7. Yeah, I noticed that they skipped the Bills too. Though I thought it was worth it as I knew I could come to the board and see people bitching about it. The humorous threads are much better than any "insight" the show might have given me about the Bills.
  8. This is the one I liked the best, though I would have prefered Beason instead of Siler as I think Beason would be a perfect MLB in the cover 2 even though he's technically listed as an OLB. People might be happy with Ellison penciled in as a starter and while I was impresed with him I want more competition/depth at the LB spots. I'd love to land Poz and Beason to team with Crowell and Ellison. It would likely secure the Bills LB spots for years to come and provide very good depth.
  9. So you'd rather have Peterson than Turner AND Patrick Willis? I wouldn't.
  10. The chart helps assign value to a draft spot but it's not going to make the picks for you.
  11. Have you ever heard Lawrence Taylor speak?
  12. When people speak of "talent" in regards to sports they're pretty much talking about natural athletic ability. For the QB position George had that in spades.
  13. I want Turner but not at the price of the 12. A swap of first rounders is acceptable or your other scenario of a 2nd or 3rd this year and a conditional next year...though to make that conditional a 1st next year the stats better be HUGE, and I mean HUGE
  14. Yeah, but did he pick him up at the airport in his Ford Taurus?
  15. Unless the poster's name is "LSI Cadets" you can safely assume that is sarcasm.
  16. He doesn't just use his speed though. Sure, his it's his strength but he also uses lots of other moves to get pressure. His run stopping, while not horrible, was just average. I have a feeling it's going to be horrible next year if he goes into the season at that weight.
  17. This is only true because the other LBs left via FA or had career altering injuries. So yeah, if the rest of the LB core goes down to injury Stamer will be in the starting lineup.
  18. This is a scary thought (and not good scary): "Aaron Schobel, a 14-sack Pro Bowler in '06, has lost a whopping 19 pounds this offseason (from 262 to 243). Although that appears quite small for a modern-day end, it means the seven-year veteran should be even speedier in terms of getting into enemy backfields next year -- a scary thought for AFC East offenses, for sure." Schobel was already undersized and I can't imagine anybody with their hand on the ground every down weighing so little. The guy was very good last year, why mess with that?
  19. Why get your panties in a wad over something that might happen? I don't want the Bills to trade a first for him either (and I do want them to land him) but I'll just wait an see before I start bitching about it.
  20. I've seen a few mocks with the Vikes taking Peterson. Taylor played well last year for them so it seems a bit strange to me but apparently others think it's a real possiblity.
  21. Are you sure you don't want to recant this statement? It's a wee bit on the ridiculous side.
  22. I didn't see anybody say he was going to be inducted. It said he had HoF talent, which is totally different. For example, Jeff George had Hall of Fame talent...
  23. The original thread starter changed the title and the content of his post.
  24. I can't believe I'm actually going to say it but...I'd take Peterson. I hate the idea of using a #1 to pick a RB but if Peterson drops that far you have to take him. He is the kind of game changing player this team has lacked for over a decade.
  25. How does anybody get 10-6 with a LB trio of Ellison, Crowell and Coy Wire, Youboty starting at CB and A-Train at RB? I have no doubt that some of these positions will be upgraded come the start of the season, but as of today this team would be fortunate to win 6-7 games.
