Well hell, with credentials like that why aren't you employed as an NFL scout? The bottom line is that NOBODY knows which QB in any given draft will end up being a success (with the exception of Luck where everybody knew it.) There are guys touted as "can't miss" yet they miss and guys like Russell Wilson who gets overlooked until round 3 who burst onto the scene in year one. It's a crap shoot and I - for one - am happy the Bills finally rolled the dice. Sure, EJ might fail but at least they tried to find the answer. If he fails try rolling the dice again in a few years and keep rolling until they find their QB. The only way to ensure that they never find him is to never take that chance. They targeted a guy who they think can succeed. I'll take any GM or scout's opinion over some random internet guy who "saw him play."

You keep using that word. I do not think that means what you think it means.

I bet if the Nix released his board the Bills would grade out the highest based on it. It's like a FF draft, after the draft every single owner thinks they had the best draft because they're basing it on their own board. Then reality sets in and I win the league - again. You should call/write your congressman and demand that he proposes a law preventing draft gurus from grading drafts.

Being a UCLA fan I've watched Woods for years. I don't think it's going to take him long to learn the game. He's very polished already and should step in to be immediate help as a #2. Now, it's still unclear if the Bills have a guy who can actually get him and Stevie the ball...

What has me hopeful is that he's a ` smart guy and from what I've read puts in the hours working hard to improve. If you have those two things and the physical gifts he has the sky is the limit. Let's hope the coaching staff does their jobs in preparing him for Sundays...

I'd have preferred that they got Austin than them get Milliner. I'm no expert but my guess is that Milliner has the much more successful career. As much as people want to discount his size as being a factor I just can't see a guy that size getting the ball as much as a top 10 WR should and still remain on the field. Add to it that they intend for him to return kicks and I can't see him making it through a season healthy in the NFL. He's way more talented than Parrish and has a thicker build, but he's still a small guy on a field with giants who move like the wind.

Absolutely according to who? Draft "experts" who get it wrong every year? The same guys who said Geno wouldn't make it past 8? I'm not sure why everybody is so confident he'd have been there in the 2nd when there are plenty of other teams who need QBs who might have been willing to move up into the late first round to nab him - or simply stayed put and grabbed him at the beginning of the 2nd. I love you guys who think that because you read it in some draft report it's going to play out exactly how they claim. Bottom line is nobody knows if he'd have been there in round 2 and anybody who claims they do is full of it.

So the Bills bide their time and trade back picking up extra picks and grab the player they wanted and this is "panicing." You might not like the player but the Bills most certainly did not panic. And really, I don't know how people have really strong opinions on most QBs that come out of college. It's a crapshoot. Sadly, you have to roll the dice and hope the guy you picked pans out. The Bills feel this is the guy they want and I'll give him a chance. If he doesn't pan out they try again in a few years. Unless you're lucky enough to be picking 1st in the draft the year Peyton or Luck comes out (F'in colts) then this is what you have to do to find that QB - keep rolling the dice.

Reading the buffalo news articles today, and ...

He didn't suddenly become these things, it's just they now have more game film to evaluate him by. If he had come out last year my bet is he would have been one of those QBs who were "misses" in the top 10. They happen every year. The extra evaluation of this year gives them a more accurate view of his abilities and faults. The other thing that hurt him was the shoulder injury in the UCLA game. He hasn't played a snap since that injury to reassure teams that his already questionable arm isn't even worse. He didn't do himself any favors on his pro day either... -

When I don't want any help I use a good old fashion "F-off." Well, either that or "No, thank you." It depends on my mood. -
There, fixed it for you.

In case you missed it on NFL.com I thought you guys would enjoy an article that actually has something nice to say about a Bill. I knew the TD stat but the stat about only allowing 2 WRs over 50 yards on his watch was news to me. http://www.nfl.com/n...-the-2012-draft

The new tone at OBD: What they're saying
MDH replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This sounds like an argument about the existence of god. Then again, I guess the Bills do work in mysterious ways... -
Sure Evans went on to do nothing but at the same time the Bills got no better - it was more spinning of the wheels. I don't get why people still defend this team's decisions. I understand on some level fans have just got to believe in order to go on watching. They convince themselves that things are going to turn around because of (insert newest reason here.) But for the past decade it simply hasn't happened and I - for one - no longer give them the benefit of the doubt. Nobody running this team has earned that. So count me as one of those who needs to be shown the baby. That being said I tune in every Sunday and read countless offseason articles about the draft and team - I just no longer believe that things are turning around until I actually see it on the field. Until then, count me as a skeptic.

At the college level the coach and yell all he wants at the "kids" but the moment you start laying your hands on them that's crossing the line. It's been crossing the line for a few decades now. When I was a little kid in the early 80s I remember an after school daycare worker twisting a 9 year old kid's ear and pulling him around by it saying "I'll bet you'll listen to me now." The kid was in tears. The next day the kid's mother came into the after care center grabbed the worker's ear and twisted it really heard and started yanking him around by it yelling, "How do you like it? Don't ever touch my son again, do you hear me!!!??" at him. She twisted his ear so hard the man had tears in his eyes. Anyway, the point being is that - for the most part - I don't think parents' mind at all if their kids have other mentors/parental figures who help teach their kids, even if it's in a rough manner. But the moment you start laying a hand on someone else's child, it's not cool and there are going to be repercussions.

No doubt, I read that and just stopped. How can anything else he have to say be worth reading? -
'Super Duper' Mark Duper beats teenager until blacks-out

You have no idea but your first instinct is to blame the kid who was beaten unconscious. Yeah, let's teach the kid a lesson who is mouthing off by beating him senseless, but he'll listen next time! Pure genius. -
Pretty funny. It amazes me how much time and effort people put into some of these productions which are simply 2 minute jokes that get some clicks on the web.

It's not based on "Brandon's logic" it's based simply on logic. You can't pay every position top 5 in the NFL super-star money. You have to pick and choose where (and who) you're going to pay. So if a team decides to use that much cash on a S or G it means they can't pay that much at another, perhaps more important, position. So you pay the "difference makers." I loved Levitre but he simply isn't a difference maker on the field. Byrd, on the other hand, has proven to be that on quite a few occasions. He's made big plays at crunch time to seal up wins - those are the guys you pay.

Are you questioning his scouting report of him? Come one, he had him on his fantasy team, he knows what he's talking about! -
Vikings release Antoine Winfield, Signs with the Seahawks.

He'd be an upgrade over every CB the Bills have on the roster. Granted, the question is how much more does he have in the tank? -
The sad thing is that he's in the majority of men. While I'm at the sink washing my hands I see far more men simply walk out of the bathroom, many after taking a dump, than stop at the sink to wash. And about half of those that go to the sink simply rinse their hands with water. I'm not sure why they bother.

DeadSpin - Convo Between Nix and Tampa GM
MDH replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You want to fire a GM one day into FA? Yeah, good idea. The team already has a successor in place and it sounds like this is Buddy's last offseason as GM anyway, there's no need to fire the guy other than to make your already dysfunctional team appear even more so (if that's actually possible.) -

MDH replied to missthe kgun's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love you guys who hate Fitz so much you'll get rid of him in a heartbeat but then want to sign a guy like VY who isn't even in the league. There's a reason the guy isn't in the league - he's not a good QB. If Fitz isn't on the Bills next year I'll guarantee he's at least on an NFLroster. -
Pats* sign Brady to 3 year extension thru 2017

If it's that easy to be a "system guy" then why doesn't every team in the league adopt this unbeatable system and voila they'll have an elite QB!
