You have to wonder about Sirius NFL radio
MDH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While this is true what they do posses that the hardcore fans don't is a more unbiased opinion about the team (notice I didn't say totally unbiased opinion.) They don't overvalue the players (or undervalue them if they've gotten on the fans' bad side.) I see a lot of knowledge of Bills players/football on this board but a lot of it is skewed by an unbridled optimism because they are fans and they love their team. -
They were both looking for nail and wood

The guy takes off his shirt when having a quickie in a public place? I guess he wanted to get comfortable! And who calls the cops because you see a couple go into a shed at Home Depot? Wouldn't it be more prudent to just to knock on the shed and get them to leave the store. It wouldn't even cross my mind to call the cops in this situation - they have better things to do. -
I don't know what training camp reports you've been reading but just about all of the ones I've read repeatedly stated that Tuel struggled and was the worst QB in camp day after day. He had a couple of nice pre-season games (and a bad one) but that's no reason to suddenly think an undrafted FA who struggles in practice is suddenly going to be good enough to beat the Pats in a real game.

Or what? You'll cry and moan like a petulant child?

To be fair to the guy he had 2-3 days of practice and had no starters out there with him. He was going up against most of the starters on Detroit's D for the first two series. Granted, after that it was against a bunch of scrubs but I'll cut him some slack when he hasn't even been with the team for a full week. If people want to be hard on the guy trash his entire career before his stint with the Bills but I'm not going to bash him for what happened in last night's game.

The No Huddle will be the death of us this season
MDH replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where did people get the idea that the D is that bad? Last night's game when there wasn't a single starter on the field? Not one. I don't think I'll panic based on that. Last weeks' Washington game? I'll give you that one, they didn't look good. Then again, they looked pretty good in the first two pre-season games. So which is it? My guess is they'll be pretty inconsistent until they get the D down but by the halfway point we'll start to see what they're really capable of. I certainly wouldn't start labeling the D horrible based on a bunch of backups in the last pre-season game though. -
How can anybody look at the DBs on this team and still have the attitude that you want Byrd cut or traded? This team needs more quality DBs, not less. So what if he doesn't want to be in Buffalo - he's here and if he wants a big payday down the road he'll play well.

Sweet article on Tuel, quotes from his dad

If the poster had questioned the original post with, "you're a retarded f@g for thinking that a 2 parent household has any relevance to successful QB play" would that have been "non-PC" enough for you? Or would it still have been the "PC police?" The OP's statement was idiotic. It has nothing to do with political correctness - nothing. Unless somebody can find some evidence that QBs from 2 parent households have absolutely done better than QBs from single parent households then evening bringing the statement into the topic is absurd. I like to think of it more as the idiot police. Perhaps DC Tom will pipe in here in a minute as I think this is his domain. -
Everyone needs to relax. Seriously. Read why

The board has gone ridiculously pessimistic because of one thing: 13 years of sucking. If the Bills were coming off a few playoff appearances and the above happened there would be concern but not at the level it's at now. That type of hysteria is saved for the fans of organizations that continuously miss the playoffs. -
It's curious why nobody has answered the OP's question. He uses a lot of exclamation points and his posts aren't the most well formed yet he makes a good point: Why did they push $7M in Fitz's dead money into next year when they have the space this year? Perhaps the answer is as simple as, "the rules don't allow it" or "it doesn't work that way" but it's interesting how posters come up with incredibly illogical posts to try and defend the Bills' FO. Of course, I guess it doesn't really matter. The fact that they are $23M under the cap this year tells us all we need to know. While I don't agree with the OP's statement that they're "trying to lose" it's pretty obvious they're trying to win but by spending significantly less than the rest of the league. They've imposed their own salary cap on themselves. I can't imagine why they haven't made the playoffs in 13 years when they've handcuffed themselves.

When does she hit puberty? I love gyrating women dancing around on stage but Miley looks like a teenage boy.

This is just wrong. They are implementing a new D scheme and you can't go into the season with your starters only having played a few series together in the new scheme. NO coach would do that. I know fans want someone to blame but the bottom line is that football is a violent game and players get hurt.
-
The problem with this thinking is that he would have become a star in Buffalo. With a player like Rogers - where it's effort and not talent that's holding him back - getting cut a few times can be the impetus that finally gets his motor going. Obviously not getting drafted didn't do it. Perhaps getting cut will. At some point that talent means zilch and you can't keep giving a guy with talent a free ride because he "might turn into something." Giving him a free ride is what prevents someone like that from every amounting to anything.

Why the hell do you merge threads like this? Sure it's talking about Gilmore's injury but some posters (like myself) don't want to wade through a thread with this title when a thread titled "Gilmore out 6-8 weeks" is a much better description of the current circumstances. At least change the title of this thread. I love this board and have been a member for over a decade but the thread merging sh*t gets annoying. It makes sense in some instances and in others it just seems like bored moderators just having nothing better to do.

Bills QB situation going into regular season...
MDH replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just don't see Tuel going to the PS when he's the only healthy QB on the roster who knows this offense. That alone gets him the week 1 start if EJ is unable to go. My guess is the 3 QBs on the roster on opening day are EJ, Tuel and Leinart with Kolb being put on IR. After yet another concussion I don't see Kolb ever taking a snap in a real game for the Bills. I don't see Lewis on the final roster either. He's simply there to take snaps in this last week of practice before the real bullets fly. He'll be cut next week unless he plays very well in the final pre-season game. If Tuel has to start in week 1 they need to scrap the hurry up offense that week. The last thing I want is Brady and co. getting more opportunities because the offense can't stay on the field. They'd be wise to go to a ball control, clock control type of game plan for that week and keep the ball out of Brady's hands as much as possible. Somehow I doubt they'll do this though. -
Ugh. That kills this D. Just kills it. He's the only CB on the roster worth a damn.
-
The biggest mistake I saw was on A. Williams on that big Moss gain. I didn't notice who the CB covering Moss was but Williams took a horrible angle and overran the play. He could have made the tackle right when Moss caught the ball but instead Moss runs downfield for 30 more yards. It was a simple play for a safety to make and Williams just looked like a fool.
-
No, they blitzed plenty in the first half but they rarely got pressure and even when they did Grossman and White were able to find WIDE open WRs down field for big plays. Hopefully these are just growing pains as players are trying to learn a new scheme. Hopefully.

This was my biggest question. Despite what Tasker said, Spiller was not 100%. He had a little hitch to his giddy-up and there was no f'in reason for him to still be in the game. And as has been stated in the last few pages of this thread (the only ones I've read) - that half was ugly. As I said after the last game, I'm not sure we want to see this D blitzing over and over again against Brady. He eats blitzes up. If a 3rd and 4th string QB were able to beat the blitz what's Brady going to do? And can a LB maintain his assignment and be where he's supposed to be for the cutback? All half long the DL did a pretty good job and when the runner turned back there were no LBs in sight. On a positive note, Dareus had a good half of football. Even before those last few plays he was good.

There are plenty of pom poms I like. For instance, these.

It's one thing to kill the kittens, you have to be a sick F to do it. But you have to be totally out of touch with society to post the pics on facebook and think everybody is going to enjoy them and you won't get into trouble with the authorities. Hell, serial killers know that, "hey, if I get caught people aren't going to be okay with this."
