I don't see how anybody can think it anyone other than Manuel. Spiller was one of the best backs in the league last year and the Bills still won only 6 games. The Bills will go the way of Manuel and if he ends up being a top flight QB I can guarantee the Bills win more than 6 games. On the other hand if he struggles then the Bills will struggle to win 6 games again - even with Spiller or Mario playing well. To say it's the 1st round QB is obviously the easiest answer, but it doesn't make it less true.

The guy also stated that Da'Rick could move up to #1WR and move everybody else back a slot. If that happens it won't be this year and it's a pretty big jump to even suggest such a thing at this stage. Da'Rick had one solid year in major college football and didn't get drafted. The NFL is littered with players who accomplished much more in college than Da'Rick but couldn't cut it in the pros. He'll be battling for a roster spot, not battling Stevie, at least in the immediate future.

It looks like a Bills game except they don't have the excuse of being totally drunk for their behavior.

You like hairy armpits on women too? Hairy legs?

This simply isn't true. It's always been dog eat dog just like the rest of the internet. The community element only comes in if it's another long time poster who you know to be fairly level headed and so other old timers would respond in a level headed manner. Otherwise, it's just like the rest of the internet but with better moderation so it doesn't get too out of hand. Hell, we've had people chased off over rattata and homework threads - and those were other long time posters.

Crime in the NFL (pretty charts included)
MDH replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So what you're saying is that these players should move up to white collar crime and leave this low brow stuff to the poor. -
From what I've read it sounds like Hernandez was the bad companion influencing others, not the other way around. He's the one who sent out the texts telling his buddies to get a move on so they could execute somebody. If not for him those guys never would have been in the state helping him terminate a life. All allegedly of course. =)

Didn't Mario post a pic of a gun with a silencer attached on a pillow? That has a completely different meaning - at least to me - than the above pics.

Considering the worst part of the impact is usually being driving into the ground with the 300lb guy on top of you he saved himself a lot of pain by having a pad to land on.

Patriots' Hernandez arrested in homicide investigation

I'm guessing it also led you to a bag of Doritos on more than one occasion. -
You're letting your DB bias and his slow start cloud your perspective. Sure he struggled early but in the last 10 or so games he played lights out. Sometimes you just have to be willing to admit you were wrong. I generally agree with your point of view in regards to drafting DBs early but Gilmore looked fantastic in the 2nd half of last year while Dareus - who I thought was the best player in the draft in 2011 - looked horrible. And if Pettine's D is anything like the Jets then having a guy who can cover man to man like Gilmore did last year opens up all kinds of options for the rest of the D. I'm not usually a fan of drafting DBs early but I'm excited about Gillmore and anybody who's actually watching him play with unclouded eyes should be too.

This is an easy one: CJ Spiller. He's the only player on the team that people continuously talk up and when they do so they speak of him like he's Adrian Peterson. Guy has to perform in a full time roll for a least two seasons before I put him in that kind of company and the fact remains that he split time last year and was stuck behind Freddie before that.

Most of them were pretty amusing but this one caught my attention as actually being out of line. Anton Newcombe on Eric Clapton “People talk about Eric Clapton. What has he ever done except throw his baby off a !@#$in’ ledge and write a song about it?”

The Sporting News preview with Jay Skurski
MDH replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every year I see you rip the writers for their negative pieces about the Bills seasons (and denounce other posters as well) and yet every year those other posters and those writers are the ones who are correct and it is you who are wrong. Yet you say they have no ability to judge what is happening in front of them? I'll agree that the people who say everything the Bills do is wrong are ridiculous in their assessments but it's equally ridiculous to always applaud their moves particularly (and you're not going to want to hear this) with their history of failure. I don't think anybody is unable to see what the Bills are doing. I think they're just unsure if it's going to work. I say that's a legitimate concern as there are no guarantees this youth movement across the board works. I, for one, like what I've seen this offseason but I don't begrudge anybody their doubts or negative previews of the Bills season. -
Criticism of Pettine from Jets Nation?
MDH replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Jets being 20th in points allowed last year probably has something to do with their offense giving up 37 turnovers which was tied for #1 in the entire league. The Jets were #3 in the league in turnovers in 2011 with 34. No matter how good the D is if you keep putting them in those situations they're going to give up points. -
Stephon Gilmore has "made a leap"....
MDH replied to bourbonboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a word but that's not how it's spelled despite that people misspell it that way all the time. It's "leapt." -
In the end it doesn't even matter if any of the complaints about the XBox One are legit - they've already lost. This sh*tstorm is a PR nightmare and is going to be incredibly difficult to overcome even if they have the superior product. Microsoft screwed the pooch with their launch party. My guess is Microsoft will do a 180 and announce that you won't have to be connected every 24 hours and they'll figure something out about game sharing as well but by then it will be too late because people have already made up their minds. They had the opportunity to make a big splash and they did - but not the one they had hoped. I guarantee right now they are scrambling to try and figure out how to fix this mess. The comment above about where the companies come from was a good one (though they stated Nintendo was a "toy" company which isn't true, it's a software company who uses a console to get their games out.) Sony isn't that interested in selling games, they sell electronics so they aren't as interested in protecting a gaming company's products with "anti-pirating" safe-guards. They know that if they sell more consoles than anybody else those game companies will be lining up to release games on their platform. Also, all the talk about "why do I have to buy the kinect" is missing the entire point of consol gaming. What software developers like about consoles is they know that EVERYBODY has the same system specs and they can design a game specifically around those specs. With PC gaming they have no clue what systems they have. In the history of consol gaming there have been very few add ons that have ever been successful because a software company isn't going to limit their market by designing games that utilize a piece of equipment that only a limited number of gamers have. If a company wants something to be a primary part of the gaming experience they have to include it with the console.

Fred Jackson is the most underrated/under appreciated player on the Bills. The fact that people are bringing up Spiller's name in this thread illustrates this pretty well. Two seasons ago Jackson was in the running for MVP up till week 10 when he got injured. If Jackson is healthy the guy is a beast. The question is if he can stay healthy. Granted, I have that same question about Spiller if he gets more carries.

It depends, the article says the wound was in his neck. If it was one of the carotid arteries that was bleeding out even a small gash could be deadly in minutes. -

I guess they didn't need any help pulling the plug, they managed fine by themselves.

Best Player on 2013 Buffalo Bills Roster
MDH replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best player on the team last year: Probably Spiller. Best player on the team this year: I'll go Gilmore. He's going to blossom into one of the top 3 CBs in the league. -
