Those 'Poor' People earning $200k
Alaska Darin replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Thank you for the perfect example. Small business is truly the backbone of the country but you'd never know it from how the tax code is written. -
Those 'Poor' People earning $200k
Alaska Darin replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Depends on your situation, which is my overall point. It's easy to get people who make $50-100k a year who live in low cost areas where real estate is affordable and schools are good/safe get all spun up when someone makes double (or more) money than they do. That's why the articles are written the way they are. I really liked the line about how his accountant lined out his 401K as an expense. Heaven forbid anyone plan for their (and their family's) future and use the system as it's designed. Oh, the humanity. Evil, evil rich people. Now get out in the streets and riot for more government control of your lives. They're the only ones who can save you now. -
Report: bills wanted to draft Wilson/Prescott
Alaska Darin replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You were willing to wait until round 4 for Russell Wilson, who was LIGHT YEARS ahead of EJ Manual, who should have been an undrafted FA. How tall is Drew Brees? Friggin' Buddy Nix. It's a QB. -

Amen. You can certainly leverage yourself exponentially to get tax write offs and that's how many people get "richer," but one significant change (loss of employment, illness, etc.) and that whole house of cards can come down pretty quick. -

I love reading class warfare pieces and then the resulting commentary of the envious/ignorant. Making $200k in expensive places like NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, etc doesn't make you rich, it makes you middle class. That's why so many of them bail for much cheaper places at some point. Politicians love that they've yet to corner the market on ignorance. -
NFL Trivia for you guys and gals
Alaska Darin replied to Don Otreply's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First win was actually against Hank Stram's New Orleans Saints in New Orleans. The Bucs also won the next game, in Tampa against the Cardinals. Both Hank Stram and Don Coryell (Cardinals' coach) were fired at the end of the season. Beat the Bucs or you're fired! It's a documentary show on NFL Network. Somewhat similar to the "30 For 30" concept, only solely NFL focused. -

He's not even in the Top 10.

Should Steve Tasker be in the Hall of Fame?
Alaska Darin replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tasker belongs in the Hall. Additionally, if he played in this era he'd be every bit as good as Wes Welker or Julian Edelman at wide receiver. No one could cover that dude. -
The playoffs are where NHL teams make money. The players don't get their salaries for playoff games, so they are incredibly profitable for the owners. Guess what not making the playoffs means?

Dear professional athletes, Please continue doing meaningless things like taking a knee during the National Anthem instead of using your considerable financial resources and public credibility to help rid America of the scourge that is us. Sincerely, Politicians who've had decades to solve these problems but don't because it benefits them

Pro Bowl Player Poll--Worst City to Travel To
Alaska Darin replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good. I don't want them to like coming to Buffalo to play against us. The Pegulas have plenty of money and getting free agents to come here hasn't really ever been much of a problem. -

Sorry for your loss. Grieving a beloved pet is one of the toughest things to go through. -
I would like to see the analytics of Dallas because when you're losing games, you tend to pile up a lot of meaningless yards against air. Individual stats rarely tell the whole story.

Jordan Phillips asks you: where's the Offside?
Alaska Darin replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spain fell backwards and pulled the DLineman down on top of him, right where the RB was tackled. While it was "holding", it literally had zero affect on the outcome of the play. Given the sheer number of times our pass rushers were mugged during the game, there is no reason that call should have been made. -
A brief history of "Renegade" and the Steelers
Alaska Darin replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tommy Shaw sang zero Night Ranger songs with Damn Yankees. They did used to do a bit where Shaw would start playing "Babe" and Ted Nugent would tell Tommy his guitar seemed out of tune. Shaw would surrender his acooustic to Ted, who would smash it to bits and then launch into "Renegade". They stopped doing it when Dennis DeYoung let them know it hurt his tender heart. Jack Blades sang lead on all three Night Ranger' songs Damn Yankees performed. -
