There's that whole, played a season with a team outsiders declared to be "tanking" and went 9-7 on the way to breaking the longest playoff drought in pro sports, but nah, he's done nothing. I'd say we have a good bit of evidence to the contrary, though short of conclusive. When Brady's been out, the Patriots have been pretty mediocre.

"He also said the role of a columnist, is to sometimes be an extremist in their views and amplify their thoughts to to generate conversation. " Online we call this sort of person a TROLL ...which is exactly what I called Sullivan when I e-mailed his boss, pointing out that Sullivan's poor logic in his articles made it clear he was being nonsensical on purpose to attract attention and that that sort of dishonest behavior reflected poorly on the entire paper.

1. You don't need to pick #1 to get good OL help. 2. Players are human beings, not Madden characters, and losing a ton of games affects team culture - you want your lows to not be too low, with the only possible exception if you are desperate for the QB of the future, and they think they already have that in Allen. So, yes, being the worst team in the league (or close to it) would be bad for the process.

Less concerned with O-line than most...
BobChalmers replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not his deep balls that worry me - it's his not-so-quick outs that all seem like pick-6's waiting to happen. Despite his very good numbers this preseason, it was distressing to me that he's still throwing those in situations where a good CB who's been game planning WILL pick them off. That's the real beauty of Allen too - he throws passes that CBs think they can reach out and grab until they whiff and get nothing but the contrail behind his 70 mph fast balls. -

Interesting recall you have - my recollection is that the whole line was pretty good for a few years and nose-dived with Castillo taking over last season. -
AJ gone and no vet QB, are your expectations lower?
BobChalmers replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even a little. McCarron was easily the worst of the 3 QBs in camp. My expectations would have been lower if they had kept him! -
In fairness it was an awful year for QB's period. Don't think we wanted Geno either. "Matt Cassel is still playing." Mind-boggling. He's the NFL equivalent of a bad MLB middle-reliever.

3rd Super Bowl loss sends Tim McVeigh over the edge

Pretty sure they tore the goal posts down after Smerlas blocked the Jets FG to make the playoffs? -
Judging Beane’s decisions so far
BobChalmers replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. Honestly - what is wrong with so many Bills fans? A lot of these people whining here now really don't deserve a winning football team - they'll push out all this stupid, ignore what's been stated publicly about where this plan is going (thanks HappyDays for reminding the troll-sheep, not that they'll listen) and just go on bitching, because I guess years of frustration has taught them that bitching is THE value to being a Bills fan. It has been stated REPEATEDLY in local and national media both that pushing all this dead cap into 2018 has been THE POINT all along. Complaining about the 2018 dead cap is like shouting "I am ignorant and wish to stay that way!" Lots of dead cap this year, LOTS of cap space in 2019. I've been around long enough to see them get good, and bad, and good again, and bad again - it happens. We're waiting for the good times, and yes, making the playoffs (and yes even with needing help to do it) is the beginning of some more good times. Waste your energy bitching if you must, just be sure to own up later when you're wrong. [STILL waiting for the naysayers who call "2-14" every damned year to pony up a bet with me] Good news for you, then, that Beane and McDermott have repeatedly stated it's not good enough for them either. TRUST THE PROCESS -
Pats cut TD Mike Gillislee per CBS Sports

"My sense is if McCarron didn't get hurt, he would probably be at the top of the depth chart" That line alone makes me think "just another clueless national media type tossing out random group-think". McCarron was clearly the least effective of the 3 QBs at every point in the preseason. Less than a minute (?) in - "[Nathan Peterman] has started one game in the league." Yup - no clue. I shut it off another minute in.

If you think RealClearPolitics is a wingnut site you need to crawl out of your cave. They alternate left-right opinion article links on their front page, and post the details of every available political poll (as well as average them together) including when they were taken and who funded the poll.

Rosen Allen Analysis on NFL Network
BobChalmers replied to The Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw this - it was Sean O'Hara, and it was exactly as you described. Complete horse turds from the mouth of yet another idiot former-player who gets paid good money on NFLN. Every clip of Rosen showed an actual pocket that was there for a while.
