I didn't think about the day until I was driving into work and saw people standing on one of the overpasses waving a bunch of flags. I gave them the thumbs up and they waved back. I guess I'll be avoiding television and news outlets today.

When I was 24, I went out and bought my own car... And did my own research... And got my own loan... I would never have dreamed about asking my parents to help me with that. Then again, my parents don't have the best track record when it comes to cars -- Pinto, Chevette, some crappy Kia thing...

Don't take this the wrong way, but at 24, shouldn't you be able to figure that out yourself...? Since you post here, I assume you know how to use the Internet and can research what you should be paying for a car, no?

After the first week, anyway. The first week is usually terrible as they work out kinks. They also (historically) give everyone streaming access week 1, and everyone is testing it out which factors into the poor performance.

Fast forwarding works. 30 second skip is not an official DirecTV feature. I'm not referring to 30 second SLIP, I'm referring to standard fast-forwarding (which is what I always use).

So you're mad because an undocumented back door they put in doesn't work like it used to.....? I noticed a couple of months ago that commercials for DTV look "different" when fast forwarding - it's a gray screen. Not sure if they're encoding it differently within the stream or what, but it very well COULD be a bug, and it doesn't affect regular fast forwarding. If it did, then I'd think you have an argument. But not with an undocumented backdoor.

I disagree. Dr. Will played a good game but he had the advantage that it was the first (real) season of Big Brother (the real first one wasn't really a game), and he never changed his gameplay at all - did the same thing all season. Dan, on the other hand, came in with a strategy, changed it up a little to get this far in the game, and then completely flipped the table to save his bacon. It was an amazing move, and we'll have to see how well it works long term.

The biggest question in that article (and they talked about it on the radio this morning) is: Why the heck is he driving a '95 Camry..???

I've thought it was pretty blatant for many years. A year or two ago they had that diamond power of veto where you knew who was going home, but CBS didn't want that to happen so they made stuff up. Kinda like this year when Frank was going to go home and instead they "reset the game" (no they didn't) so he could stay. (or was it some Pandora's box where someone who wasn't the HoH got to put up BOTH nominees, thus making the HoH a joke... Something like that).

I still call BS. A coworker's son is doing landscaping over the summer and isn't getting anywhere near $20/hr. More like half that. Is it more than the illegal immagrants are making? Sure. But it's not $20-$30/hr either.
