Greg Williams ...caught on tape....
Zulu Cthulhu replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh, you knew there would be scores of people overreacting to this. GW repeatedly broke an NFL rule. A rule Goodell is determined to enforce vigorously to protect the league from future lawsuits. Simple as that. Don't worry people, Williams will be gone for a very long time. But if you think that speech on that tape is in any way unique to GW, youre deluding yourselves. -
Greg Williams ...caught on tape....
Zulu Cthulhu replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So it seems Michael Silver at Yahoo! was in touch with the filmmaker and released it today? That's the impression I get from the links. Goodell had nothing to do with its release. -

I don't think Goodell was the one releasing this audio. It was captured by a third party making a documentary. I assume he or she released it. Maybe Goodell and the NFL pressured the owner of the audio to release it today, though. It wouldn't surprise me. -
Nike uniform unveiling discussion
Zulu Cthulhu replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Basically it's a kind of stiching that makes the jersey lighter and provides what Nike calls a "lockdown" fit over the shoulder pads of the player. Little vague on what exactly a lockdown fit is, someone else may be able to help. -
Claiborne gets a 4 in the wonderlic
Zulu Cthulhu replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A timed test like the Wonderlic (12 minutes) for someone with a reading disability would be incredibly difficult and frustrating. His score doesn't suggest he's "retarded" Turbo. It may suggest the kid has some literacy issues. Wonderlic Inc. sets a score of 10 as indicating normal adult literacy. Or Claiborne is just an immature hot-shot and didn't even try to successfully complete the test? I have no idea, but it wouldn't be unprecedented. -
I'm not that bent out of shape that Roscoe's gone, but I do agree with Darin that coaching cost him some when he was healthy. Gailey was utilizing him much better than the previous regimes before he unfortunately got hurt.

Claiborne gets a 4 in the wonderlic
Zulu Cthulhu replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still haven't seen anything or anyone claiming this test positively correlates to football success. Year after year they continue to give it, and every year kids' scores get leaked. Assuming it's the coaches and GMs in the league that continue to insist on administering this test even though at least a few players every year like Claiborne get publicly embarrassed, I'd like to hear more of their rationale behind giving the test. Can't link, but there was something call the Lyons study in '09 that found no link between general intelligence (which the Wonderlic claims to measure) and football success or performance. I'd just like to hear a counterargument publicly from a GM or coach that values this test - because Im starting to doubt the thing has any value at all. Fitz scored a 48, but led all starting QBs in interceptions last year. And all the "jokes" calling this kid a dolt and dumber than your dog? Not that funny. -
Nike uniform unveiling discussion

There were only a handful of teams that opted out of the new collar "flywire" system. Most are redesigned like the bills. -
Well respected. "true" + "real" = trill.

Calm yourself. He's not on Peters' level is all I meant. And it's true. Part of being a good player is being reliable, no? Bell's been hurt too much to be considered reliable. Even back when he was drafted many noted his body type was less than ideal for OT and could lead to injuries. Guess what happened?

Sucks for the Eagles. JP was their only good lineman. Bell is a huge step down.

How Does Playing Surface at RWS Rank Now?
Zulu Cthulhu replied to ChasBB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, the product at RWS is pretty new. It was first installed in 2010 at Morristown. So nostalgia aside, most of us have no idea what it's like to play, fall, run etc... on it. Not all artificial turfs are created equal. This stuff at RWS cound be better for the players than grass in the long run. -
Mcnabb is a classic passive/agressive with that thin veil of polite "nice guy" act. I wouldn't trust a word that guy said. That's why most of his team was on Terrell Owens' side after the Super Bowl run. Fat Andy sided with DM, though, so that was that. That said, Shanny is a bit overrated. But it must be hard to win with Snyder running the show.

How Does Playing Surface at RWS Rank Now?
Zulu Cthulhu replied to ChasBB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If a study was done by the NFLPA for 2011 surfaces, i haven't found it yet. Maybe it hasn't been released or perhaps they don't perform the survey every year. From earlier studies, it seems like players like FieldTurf as far as artificial surfaces go. Buffalo elected to use a local company, A-Turf, when they replaced their surface last year and used a product called A-Turf Titan. If that stuff is comparable to FieldTurf i'm sure it's a big improvement over the old Astroturf. -
Bills and Gailey propose a rule change

Agree. Makes way too much sense. Will never happen. -
Kellen Moore, Boise State
Zulu Cthulhu replied to rick in hartford's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every year we go through this. There's 3 or 4 manlet 6 foot QBs that one poster or another says is the "next Brees". No, they're not. They are arena league QBs. Root for them when they're playing for the Vegas Gamblers or whatever. -

Word is Patriots going hard after Forte
Zulu Cthulhu replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering the original source i didnt put much stock in that rumor either. Even though NE could certainly use a versatile RB like Forte. I don't understand Chicago's attitude towards Forte. They seem so reluctant to sign a guy who is basically their entire offense. -
Had the Bills signed Meachem...
Zulu Cthulhu replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd agree with the OP and rather have Anderson over Meachum. Another WR would've been welcome, for sure, but I can't fault the guy for taking what I assume was a much higher offer, regardless of where he was when he received said offer. Still, Meachum is a middling WR at best. It's not that big a loss. -
Desperate for material is right on the money. Power rankings in March? Beyond meaningless.

My 2012 NFL Mock Draft v.1
Zulu Cthulhu replied to Beastly Dareus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ho boy, another poster shooting down everyone's replies by saying they lack "logic and reasoning" even though there's no logic or reasoning to his own post. Sounds like someone else around here, or maybe you just have two accounts. The "reasoning" if you'd like to call it that, is Matt Kalil is a consensus top 5 pick. By pretty much everyone except you, apparently. What you did in your draft is called "wishful thinking" or "daydreaming" if you prefer. No logic or reasoning involved, sorry to say. -

TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)
Zulu Cthulhu replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't understand Tebow's decision not to go home. I guess he thinks there's a better chance to start in NY. It'll be nice to beat up on him twice a year though.
