  1. My god man then stick to tennis and golf and boxing or whatever if you only care about individual achievement in sport. You understand football is a TEAM game? Your favorite players would certainly think your attitude is a bit askew if asked.
  2. Not the most difficult of tasks, I know. They'll have a bigger challenge this week with Charles and Hillis. I had to point that out though, since the OP seems so optimistic about other units on the team that played horribly last week, yet dumped on the LBs' run defense, one of the few bright spots IMO.
  3. I'm not completely taking LA out of the mix, just saying that market may not be still in play by the time the team goes up for sale. But with the current least situation, who knows?
  4. Well if the Bills Mafia guarantees a win, I'm sold. BTW, the linebackers played the run fine last week. I'd be a happy camper if I never heard the phrases "Bills Mafia" and "show me the baby" ever again. They've overstayed their welcome and now just sound stale and stupid.
  5. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying an LA group is definitely in the mix for the team whenever they go up for sale. LA might already have a deal in place for another team to move there when the Bills go up for bid. All I'm saying is that any outside potential bidders, whether or not they are from Los Angeles, are likely to drive up the price when the sale finally happens. The most recent sale of the Jags to Shahid Khan, which wasn't a "highest bidder" scenario, was for (reportedly) $760B. Khan paid a slight premium for that team, whose market value at the time of sale was around $725B (and was actually dropping in the years immediately preceding the sale.) Obviously I don't have any hard evidence that the Bills are going to sell for way more than their current value. But, if the team really is going to go to the highest bidder when ownership changes, it's not that hard to believe there will be at least one bidding party putting in an outrageous bid for the team and driving up the price.
  6. You're right, the ability for baseball teams to negotiate their own TV deals definitely contributes to their value. But if Buffalo goes to the highest bidder, and some of those bidders intend on moving them to a market like LA, the team could easily go for much more than the current market value. It's not lost on these billionaires that a team like the Redskins have doubled in value in 12 years.
  7. You did see what the Dodgers just went for right? Magic and his partners spent way more than market value. They're out there and in an open bidding war the Bills could easily go for around $1B.
  8. Dude change your thread title, it's misleading. Your paranoia is not evidence of lease talks breaking down, sorry.
  9. I'll try my hand at some optimism: 1. Best to lose like this at the beginning of the season, rather than at the end. 2. Like others have said, Spiller looks to be turning into an every down back finally, and a good one at that. Keep working on your pass protection CJ!
  10. It's a bit odd isn't it? I'm not sure how this guy gets an exception to a long standing rule and floods the board with nothing but his own links. Doesn't even bother to excerpt part of it and paste it in the body of his post.
  11. Landry hit Jackson on the thigh above the knee. Nothing dirty about that particular play. He was flagged for a late hit on Spiller later on, but it was barely late - he pushed Spiller a split second after his foot came down out of bounds. He's a big hitter, and does draw too many flags. He's also a complete liability in coverage. Jets are lucky their corners can play great man D and dont need much safety help.
  12. So, Kelsay once again gets props for doing nothing but "trying hard" but Spiller gets chastised for one mistake that was largely the result of a great play by the opposing DB (whom Spiller beat initially). Spiller was the best player on the field today for the Bills, and it wasn't even close. Kelsay and the rest of the DL were invisible against the pass. 2 tackles and 1 TFL. He continued to get blocked out of the frame and completely taken out of plays. Standard CK. But at least he tried, right? This board is funny sometimes. At least pretend to look at the game objectively.
  13. It is a tougher position to learn. That said, Steven Hill seemed to have little trouble playing the position today for the jets, and he came from a program that ran the furthest thing from a pro offense.
  14. I think it's because most posters here who come to have actual discussions about the team would find it incredibly annoying to open up the front page and see it polluted with a dozen stupid "rah-rah" threads.
  15. "venerable" is probably the last adjective in the english language i would use to describe peter king.
  16. Never ever let homerism influence you in your draft. Jackson is a very low tier 1 rb. Stevie is a mid 2nd tier wr. The defense, until proven otherwise, isn't worth drafting. You can take a flyer on them sure. But if youre passing up a D in a weak offensive division (NFC west for instance) for the bills then you deserve to lose your league and you probably will.
  17. People on bleacher report jumping to wild conclusions? You don't say. Never would've guessed.
  18. I'd say the Bills still have Chandler and Nelson who can work up the seams. And they still have Fred and CJ to catch balls out of the backfield. So no, i don't think it all depends on SJ and deep balls to Graham.
  19. Hey trust me i'm right there with you. I just lifted that phrase from the quoted story; i don't necessarily agree with it. Fitzgerald is still a great WR and can produce even with the likes of Kolb and Skelton at QB. Trading him away for what? Another 1rd pick next year, along with the supposed high 1st they'll receive? Makes no sense. So then they take a QB with one of those 1sts and what, a top WR with the other? Why not just keep the top WR you already have?
  20. The Cardinals have been "wasting his value" since Warner retired. What makes this year any different? Cards fans would mutiny if Fitzgerald were traded away. Their front office can't be that stupid (or can they?)
  21. Why exactly do the Bills even need to run a wildcat package? Why do we need to retain some guy simply to run it? It's not 2008 and this ain't the dolphins. It's a played out gimmick.
  22. The amount of stupid in this thread is astounding. No one, not even Tasker's Ghost, knows what this kid Wilson is going to do in the NFL yet. You can not, CAN NOT, draw anything from the fact that clueless Pete Carroll is starting him over some other no name QB (2 whole starts!) this week in PRESEASON. Wait till the kid actually performs in some games that matter before you start furiously polishing his knob.
