Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
reddogblitz replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is for me and you and a lot of fans I talked to. But is it really for NFL DBs? I see 4th down interceptions semi-regularly. The guy that got the first interception caught it on 4th down too. Not sure why that is. Maybe they're afraid it will bounce to someone else? A tip drill catch? -
At first II thought this sounded like a great idea. But how would it work? After the goal line stand On 1st down the clock is stopped. And after a penalty the clock stops.

Well, the Vikings did have a .1% chance of winning. These win percentage things are dumb IMHO. But they're always right. If one team with a 75% chance of winning wins then yeah there was 75% they would. If they lose, well, there was a 25% chance they wouldn't. I often watch losses for this very reason. Often they look a little different than they did in the heat of the moment. I have even watched the Music City Forward Lateral game a few times but I turn it off after the Bills kick that last FG.

Allen's final throw, bad decision or bad pass?
reddogblitz replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
It absolutely was which is why he was sliding earlier in the game on runs. -
Allen's final throw, bad decision or bad pass?
reddogblitz replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was the throw. Just like it was the throw in the other pick and the throw when he missed Diggs in the EZ and others. His accuracy was off due to his sore arm I suspect. He made a lot of good throws but a lot more bad ones than usual. I have not heard anyone mention this and maybe I'm wrong, but it looked to me his throwing motion was even different than usual. -
Tom Landry couldn't win the big one until he did in his 12th season. And again in his 18th season. 20 straight winning seasons.
-
No it doesn't. Even if we lose we'd be 6-4 with 7 games to play. And we play the Jets and Fish again who are ahead of us.
-
Of course we deserved to lose. You always do when you score less points than the opponent. There are no style points in football.
-
Well played. Hail to the @Gugny I thought maybe it was Aaron for when he told the coach to f**k off and walked away to the bench Sunday.
-
I was in the stands when this happened on Sunday. I was flabbergasted. There are 8 3/4 games to go. Nobody wins MVP in the 2nd quarter of game 9. Give me a break. Not to mention he was trying to run guys over with his injured arm.

Why do some Bills fans refuse to have confidence in this team?
reddogblitz replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
You left out 2017 when we were 5-2 in 1 score games. Amazes me we were 3-3 in the horrid 2018 season. We were good at this 2017 - 2020. In fact its what turned us from a 7-9 year after year to a playoff team. Not sure what happened. I think maybe we have been figured out. But I think McDermott will figure it out. He's a smart coach. We seem to go through a rough patch midway through the season only to right the ship and make the playoffs and actually win playoff games the last 2 years. Trust the Process -
No. I addressed that 4 posts up from the bottom of page 1. But it had the same result. Josh flubs up and doesn't get it. "The Slip" vs Tennessee and "The Fumble" yesterday. Aside from the 2 handed push to Josh's backside they were thge same. Everyone bunched in on offense and defense and we telegraphed the play. Something to think about? Good point. Would it also be OK for a team to let their QB play without a helmet? Maybe you right and it's not dangerous. Not sure but I think it is.
-
OK. Maybe no shove. But do we really want to call a two handed push to Josh's backside a "shove"? I have 2 problems with this play: 1. Its an injury waiting to happen with 300 pound guys shove into each other with the QB in between. in our case, The (playing injured) Franchise. 2. If you're gonna run that play then run it. Line up someone or 2 or maybe even 3 big guys one step behind Josh and stove like hell like the Eagles do. No need for motion and all that. Don't have a WR two handed shoving the QBs backside. As far as has it ever been stopped, not sure. Has it ever worked inside your own 1 yard line? If the NFL wants to have this rule, then don't tell me how much you care about " player safety".
-
It was stopped vs Tennessee last year.
-
I agree. Seems like an odd rule for a league allegedly all in on player safety. As is adding another regular season game and more playoff games, but I digress.

Pulse check - How confident are you that we can beat the Browns
reddogblitz replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm confident we will win the game. Don't really care if they cover the spread or why that's important. -
Sorry, but a little 2 handed push to Wonder Boy's backside ain't gonna get it done. If you MUST run this play in that situation put somebody big back there and seriously push.

Actually I know a TON about the Landry era cuz my Dad worked for them and we were huge fans and went to every home game for years and watched all the road games on TV. I'm sorry I guess I didn't make myself clear. @Big Blitz thinks we should consider moving on from Coach McDermott due to not winning a Super Bowl in 5 years. My point was that a lot of people were saying in Dallas that they should move on from Landry for similar reasons. Then in 1967 and 20 years after he was among the best. There was also a "can't win the big one" stage after the Ice Bowl and the NFL Championship game loss the year before at home against the Packers. My point being don't make your move too soon. The "He" I was referring to was Tony Dungy. Sorry. My bad. Should have paid more attention in English class.

I disagree. McDermott is a huge part of the winning. Somehow he was even able to get us to playoffs with Hotrod Taylor at QB. He's a smart coach. He's not benefiting from 20 years of futility, he's benefiting from a 55-34 record and taking his TEAM to the playoffs 4 out of 5 years. And winning 3 playoff games. I say just let him do his thing. Be patient. And absolutely things can get a lot worse. You remind me of all the Baltimore Ravens fans who said they could dominate if they just dumped Trent Dilfer. They did and got nowhere close for years. We all want excellence. I agree he makes bad decisions sometimes and pulled a few boners today, but I'm sticking with him. I like winning. And 1 guy even if he is the great Josh Allen can't do it all himself. Or maybe we should just name Josh as player coach.
-
No I don't know what you mean. Bailing on McDermott now would be the dumbest thing the Bills have done since hiring Rex. They used to say the same thing about Tom Landry circa 1966. Not saying he's the second coming of Landry, but don't jump too soon on a HC with a winning record and playoffs 4 out of 5 years IMHO. And again, after being fired he won a SB elsewhere.
-
Was this before or after he won the Super Bowl?

Republicans need to do what Democrats can't. Ignore Trump. If he violates The Reagan Rule again by saying something bad about or attack another Republican candidate, ignore his ass. When asked about what Trump said reply "Oh well, you know Trump, he's at it again" and move on. Talk about inflation or anything but Trump. Either that or pass a rule that if you run as a Republican for President and lose you can't run again. Why not? They are a private club and can do what they want. Would have saved us from Nixon too.
