WWII the allies won cuz we had nukes and no one else did. It was an anomaly. Usually a war ends when someone says enough is enough and both sides agree like WW I. Or one side says bag it and evacuated the last people with a helicopter off the top of a building like Viet Nam, Korea, and Afganistan. or like the Russians in Afganistan.
