  1. Seems like first year coach McDermott had come to the realization that not trying to win with the playoffs on the line is OK. Disturbing.
  2. Hotrod is hands down #1 right now and should remain so until he is beaten out. So far no one has come close. It should be painfully aware to all of us by now that at QB we can ALWAYS do worse.
  3. With that attitude they certainly won't. Or anytime soon for that matter. A coach that accepts losing is not a good look. "The coach that is rebuilding is rebuilding for the next coach that comes in." --Bill Parcells
  4. Why can't we do both? And, does anyone REALLY think Nate Peterpan has any chance of ever being even as good as Kyle Orton or Tannyhill? And those guys are borderline. Go for the win on Sunday and let the chips fall where they may.
  5. Rex had a 5 year contract too. Don't get too comfortable guys. If we're sitting here in the same place next year this time win wise, your seats will start getting hot real fast.
  6. The difference between the two bums though was we won with Flutie and lost when RJ played with the same defense and WRs and rbs. Flutie was a winner. Stats are far less important to me than winning.
  7. If possible, draft one of the top guys. Keep Hotrod. Nate can come back to camp to compete for a roster spot. The draftee, if he beats out Hotrod can start, or maybe ride the pine behind him for at least 1/2 the season. Improve offensive line somehow.
  8. EVERY winning QB needs a good team around him. Can you name 1 great QB that doesn't have a really good team around him?
  9. I think we've seen his cieling. He is what he is. Next.
  10. I was really hoping Coach Lynn would put him in for mop up mop up duty.
  11. At this point I would be happy if we could get back to average.
  12. We started 5-2 in 2008, 2011, and 2017.
  13. The same could be said about Hotrod. The Same could get said about EJ. The same could be said about Fitz. The same thing could get said about Tuel Time. The same could be said about Trent Dilfer. The same could be said about JP. The same thing could even be said about Flutie.
  14. Too early to tell. Our other 2 we finished 6-10 and 7-9. So if we don't win another which we may well not, then yeah. Otherwise, no.
  15. I On one of those I cheered when the punter came out. YES, we got through three plays without a pick!
  16. Kyle Orton, Jeff Tuel, and Nate Peterpan say hello.
  17. You know what, screw high picks. You earn them because you suck. I'm tired of sucking. I want to win as many games as possible THIS YEAR and every year. If Hotrod gets us to the playoffs, hallelujah! We'll name a street after him and put a statue of him next to Ralph! "Winning is a habit, unfortunately so is losing." --Vince Lombardi
  18. Only in the crazy world of TBD where winning is losing and losing is winning does this make any sense. This is the world where winning is frowned upon and losing celebrated. Where going for wins and playoffs is wrong and tanking to get the nestick is right. The team that wins SB gets last pick. No one wants that. I don't think anyone said it did. Look, we all want a better QB, but for now Hotrod's the best we got. Let's just go with him and quit trying to find change under the couch. Sometimes you just gotta go with the best you got til next year. We have reached that point. He very well could be next year too given how these Yahoos pick QBs.
  19. Was race mentioned? Where? To me, that smacks of a loser mentality. Just win baby.
  20. How so? We could have had Watkins or Mahommes but our brain trust had better ideas. The "flyer" we took that the coach said was ready to start, just threw more Ints in one half than anyone in NFL history. I feel like we're further away from getting the golden armed franchise QB than we ever have been.
  21. That's what you said last week. Oh, and things can always get worse.
  22. Time to great out the excuses.
  23. ? You play to win the game.
  24. ? Coming into that game the BeaSt was averaging 1.5 yards per play.
