Just gained respect for Brady, lost any for Belichick
reddogblitz replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What was up with Tommy tonight? He looked like he wished he was somewhere else. He was mailing it in. Maybe at 40 after 13 games, he's toast. Over the Hill. A guy can hope anyway. But i have ZERO respect for him or Bill Bellyache or any of then for that matter. -
Jay's a winner! If we were to want to get a vet to start while that golden armed franchise QB we get in the of season gets ready and we dump Hotrod, Jay would be a good choice if he still wants to play. He also knows the Fish playbook which is a plus.
-
Did you miss the LA game? No snow in sight. There also wasn't any snow when he had 1st and goal and missed on 4 straight passes the week before last.
-
Thanks. I vaguely remember watching the Bears in the playoffs that year. Too bad he couldn't have done it without us.
-
The percentages are based on past games. I would wonder how many of those games the field was covered n 8" of snow in OT with your 3rd string QB? The answer is ZERO. I don't think one should blindly follow the percentages in such an extreme circumstance. He made the right decision because we won. I have never in many years of following football have heard so much whining after a win.
-
Did he have sub par talent in Chicago when he went 13-3? I believe Brian Erlacher was on that team.
-
No, it was Bart Starr's idea and Vince went along with it because they were cold and wanted to go home and he trusted his QB I guess.

Here's an article about the play. There are many quotes from coaches and and players saying it was a dumb call. BUT IT WORKED. The play is immortalized and Lombardi is considered a genius. Hsd it been stopped he'd be known as the dumb ass who could have gone to SB II but instead went for a QB sneak? who does that? http://profootballdaly.com/the-ice-bowl-bart-starrs-sneak/ This quote sums it up perfectly i think:
-
What if you were in a game and you had the football with 16 seconds left and no timeouts. It's 3rd down on the opponents 1 yard line down by 3. What do you do? Kick a FG to take it to OT or try a QB sneak? If you don't get the sneak, you lose. What do you do? What do stats tell us to do? The guy that went for the QB sneak now has the Super Bowl trophy named after him. Considered to be one of the greatest calls in NFL history. Coaching decisions work like this: If it works, you're a coaching genius. If not, you're a dumbass.

Hate ever rooting for the Pats but...
reddogblitz replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But they didn't. Our guys totally balled out on that last drive. I kept saying "someone needs to step up". Aside from the 1 TD drive no one did. But on the last drive 4 guys did. Webb III, Thompson, McCoy, and Incognito. That's what winning/good team do. Somebody steps up when they need to. I've seen it a few times this year. It's encouraging. This is what I'm thinking. -
Anybody catch the end of the Jax Seahawks game?
reddogblitz replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously. Seattle sports writers are the anti-Jerry Sullivan/Vic Carucci. -

Even the Seattle Times referred to the Seahawks as Sore Losers in a headline. This is way out of character for them. They're usually Seahawk back pocket boys. -
I would agree with you in the past on this. But I'm not sure it's 100% dead on this season. Hotrod led us to a comeback win vs the Bucs when we were down 7. He also got what should have been a comeback vs the Panthers if you know who caught you know what. But he failed miserably vs the bungles. In 2017, I think the jury is still out on his comeback ability. 1 for 3 with an asterisk for the Panthers game. I think the team has reversed the downward spiral by winning 2 out of the last 3 games. One against a playoff team as of today (Cheaps).

Bills Won- Loss Record (2014-2017)
reddogblitz replied to SoCal Deek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hawks did it at 7-9 in 2010 while losing 3 out of their last 4. But still, somehow the Jets and Fish have been able to get to playoffs twice during the Cheat era. We haven't gotten close. -
I think Coach McDermott knows how many guys are needed on the field on defense. We also a much better kicker. I think we'll be good. Besides, Coach McDermott says if he's healthy he plays. Deal with it. Can't we put off next season and playing for future for 3 more weeks? Let's play for now and the playoffs for once. When you got a chance you gotta go for it. Who knows what next year brings. Raiders were penciled in for SB a few months back. Look at them now. Can't even bea tthe Cheaps (or us). 3 weeks from today we can get back in future mode if we're not preparing for a playoff game

Bills Won- Loss Record (2014-2017)
reddogblitz replied to SoCal Deek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sine the beginning of the 2014 season, the Bills are 1 game over .500 31-30. After years and years of back to back 7-9 and 6-10 seasons I think this is kindof cool. We're not near as bad as a lot of y'all make us out to be. Finish strong and get a little help and ... -
Very lucky on 2 point conversion
reddogblitz replied to Buffalobillygoats's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was my take as well. LOS is 2 yard line. Block was in the EZ, beyond 1 yard. NEVER take the announcers word on anything IMHO. -
Says who? I love these percent chance things because they're always right. If the Patsies** win, they can say , see 95% chance. And if we win, they can say, well, they did have a 5% chance to win.
-
Somebody is going to get in with help. Might as well be us.
-
Evidently going 70 yards for a TD.
-
Looked to me like we set up a 100% chance to win with that punt.
-
I didn't like it at the time. BUT IT WORKED AND WE WON !!! Good call COACH. Skwish the Fish.

Top five qb in Bills history
reddogblitz replied to Chadwick Bay Chad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except Flutie could make a big play to win the game as he did several times for us. Hotrod doesn't. So if Hotrod played on that team, the drought would have started earlier. Flutie is only over rated if you base things off of stats. Flutie was a gamer. Doesn't show up in stats.
