  1. If you're talking about Alex Smith, he was the first player taken in the 2005 draft.
  2. I actually thought Levi Brown showed some promise. But the Chanimal gave up on him so I guess he was not good enough.
  3. I was. But admittedly I only watch him when he's on MNF or TNF. Last time I saw him it wasn't so good when he threw a pick in the 4th while they still had a chance to win. But I saw Jim Kelly do that a few times too. But more power to him.
  4. Can you site a couple of examples of how he can win in the clutch? I haven't seen it.
  5. In fact the Cheatetrs** have gone 13-6 with Matt Cassell, Jimmy G, And Jacoby Brisset under center.
  6. Winning sells tickets. Totally. Why would we really want to do that? We're trying to win. We're not doing science experiments on low percentage rookie QB sor injury riddled vets that aren't much if any better than what we have. I'm all for IMPROVING the QB position. But it's gotta be a BETTER QB, not just ANOTHER QB.
  7. True. Every team needs a camp arm. I'd rather re sign Joe Webb III than keep Nasty Nate as 3rd string.
  8. I think this is a HUGE factor as well. Especially for team that has to trust the process and depends on team unity etc to play above the level of the personnel like we did this year. But you know, 56 yards ...
  9. Did Shady's ypc dropping 1.4 yards from 2016 to 2017 factor into it? Why did Coach McDermott fire the OC 48 hours after the season was over it was all Hotrod's fault?
  10. I read this EVERYWHERE about how they benched him in week 12 so that means they have no confidence in him and he is done. Maybe Coach McDermott, after seeing how the season played out and the won loss record etc, changed his mind? Maybe the new OC likes him? It's easy for us to say cut him and bring in some rookie or Fitz or heck anybody. But when every win and loss goes on your permanent record, you may think differently about it. Coaches like to win.
  11. I agree with you on this. However, you did bring up the playoff game.
  12. Or he's lieing. It's that time of year.
  13. In that playoff game, Teddy was 17 for 24 for 146 yards and 0 TDs. Come on man, You'd crucify Hotrod for a performance like that. In fact we are for his 134 yard performance.
  14. Hotrod 's career ypa is 7.1. Teddy's is 7.2.
  15. Who are you? Russ Brandon? I certainly hope Coach McDermott isn't making his decision off of selling tickets. If, so, he soon will need to buy tickets.
  16. Please explain how Teddy is an upgrade. His best season, in 16 games is 14 TDs and 9 picks. In Hotrod's worst season , in 14 games, he threw 14 TDs and 4 picks. Slightly higher comp % (Hotrod's is the highest in Bills franchise history). Little higher ypa. And he hasn't played in 2 years. He's a ball control QB too, just not as good at protecting the ball. Might be OK if we were replacing Fitz or EJ, but the bar is higher this time. We need a BETTER QB, not another QB.
  17. Or he really meant it when he said we're building through the draft so don't expect any big FA signings. Or he really meant it when he said we're building through the draft so don't expect any big FA signings.
  18. I've been wondering about this as well. I didn't think any of this stuff could get started until at least the beginning of the 2018 league year.
  19. Sounds like you're making excuses. If We have to build a great team around him, why not do that and keep what we got? If he comes here, he ain't gonna have a great team around him He puts up passing yards but doesn't strike me as a leader/winner. He has also played in 1 playoff game and his team lost by 17 points followed by 2 years without playoffs. Serious question: how is he in comebacks? I know he had one big one in 2015. Any others? With what it would cost in Benjamins and lost opportunity to sign other players, I seriously question if he's worth it.
  20. When I read this I picture the starter giving him a hair cut and trimming his nose hair.
  21. How is Kirk Cousins "proven winner"? Washington's record is under water in games he was under center. I'm not following the logic here....
  22. And Shady's yards per carry dropped by 1.4 yards from 2016.
