Whatever QB we go with next year, the new staff had better seriously upgrade at WR and OLine to give the QB a better chance to win. Or expect more offensive problems.

You can keep saying that all you want, that I'm afraid to upgrade the QB position. Last 2 times we got to 9-7 we immediately dumped our QB (or he dumped us) and we went back in the tank. No thanks. I'm 100% for UPGRADING the QB position. But it's gotta be an upgrade. Somebody we can win with that's not gonna be a science experiment that takes 3 years of losing to complete. Cousins would be an upgrade I guess. I could go with McCarron due to his play in 2015 and college career. I don't see any rookie stepping and winning this year with the possible exception of maybe Mayfield. Certainly not Darnold or Allen or Jackson or Rudolph. Heck to the No for Bradford or McClown or Fitz or Bridgewater. I know yall love to say you don't hit the ones you don't swing at. True. But sometimes the one you don't swing at gets you to first. You steal second. A ground out sends you to third, and a deep fly ball gets you home. Pitchers and catchers report today made me think of that. I'm digging this winning thing. Keep the train rolling. And yes, I do want to win a Super Bowl.

These current shot callers QB shots called have included keeping Hotrod, drafting Nasty Nate, trading away the pick we could have used to take Mahomes or Watson, and signing TJ Yates and Joe Webb III. I'm hoping they can pick up their game.

Perhaps We should get some "weapons". Then Hotrod depending on them won't be a problem, because we have said " weapons". Its a lot easier to find "weapons" than it is finding a QB as you describe. One of the reasons the Rams and Eagles were better this year was because they got their QBs weapons.

QB is the most important position and the last place to look to save money IMHO. I have ZERO desire in stepping back at the position on a wing and a prayer that a rookie might be really good in 3 years. During the drought this might have made sense. No more IMHO. We'll see. We'll know a lot more a week from Friday.

I see your point. You have your opinion which may be right or not. I also want better QB play. We have suffered through much worse and little if any better over the last 18 years. I believe choosing to keep Hotrod or dump him and go for a "franchise QB" is a false choice. We can do both.

Do you really want to draft Mayfield and jinx him like that? Signing Ftiz as your backup pretty much insures your first stringer going down. I don't know how he does it. Todd Collins went years in between snaps as a backup.

QBs are much harder to find than "better toys". If he can perform with "better toys", why don't we just get some "better toys"? QB problem solved. We're gonna need "better toys", no matter who the QB is btw.

I heard that a similar thing happened at OBD today. Hotrod was there working with a few WRs. They noticed an unknown white powder. Authorities were called in. After investigation it was determined to not be a threat after all. The unknown white powder was determined to be ... the goal line.
