  1. We traded 2003 first round pick for Bledsoe. Also traded a first for Rob Johnson.
  2. Trade down to make the dots line up. Championship!
  3. Then they've been smoking up the screen ever since they set foot on OBD. But you're right. Maybe.
  4. If he does, then he probably won't take him just like he didn't take the real thing last year
  5. I thought Beans and Coach McDermott wanted a pocket passer.
  6. No you don't. When did Green Bay, Pittsburgh, NE, Dallas, Cincinnati, Minnesota, and New Orleans "sell the farm for a QB"?
  7. I really hope Coach McBean is not making decisions based on what fans want. Especially TBD fans.
  8. Maybe its just a people thing, not a generation thing?
  9. Again, thanks for the clarification. I don't follow college football that close. I also don't have anything against him and of the power 5, to me looks like the best.
  10. I did not. Thanks for clarifying that. If he's so good, why did he get beat out?
  11. I meant pocket pressure. It and an alleged weak arm are the only knocks I've read. Of course it wasn't much of an issue at Alabama with their roided up monster offensive line. Well see what he does here on the real world.
  12. Whenever I think of a "walk on", I think of someone like Rudy. Not a guy that gets a full ride to a football factory and quits because he's not the starter and goes elsewhere. If we do draft him, AJ will be our only QB that didn't have to do that. Championship.
  13. One knock I've read of him is he doesn't handle pressure well. That could be a problem here.
  14. Not sure I'd call KC's QB situation "settled" with a second year QB who has yet to take a non garbage time snap.
  15. Not for me. I remember Bart Starr very well. Especially after he got that sneak on the play Jerry Kramer jumped off sides to win the ice Bowl over my beloved Cowboys (until they were ruined by JJ).
  16. By a fat Alabama Deputy Dog at that.
  17. Actually Earl Marrall started more games for the Fish that year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_Morrall I always considered Don's call of starting Bob G in the Super Bowl a very gutsy call. You win 10 in a row with one guy and then bench him in the SB. Crazy. But it worked.
  18. Maybe you can help me out here. What exactly is the knock on AJ? He looked great at Alabama. Looked like he had all the throws. The short ball control ones and the long ones. I wanted us to draft him. But, he didn't get drafted til the 5th round. Why is that? He seems to everything TBD wants in a QB except a top 5 draft pick. He's tall. An accurate pocket passer. A winner. I do agree with you on the not beating out Dalton thing. Dalton is the Bungles franchise QB and was before AJ got there. You gotta knock out the champ. My opinion, Especially after seeing him play in 2015 was that, while he couldn't knock out the champ, he could probably go toe to toe with him for the distance. Doesn't mean he's not good by any means. I look forward to watching AJ play for the Bills this year. Bart Starr
  19. You did. I was being sarcastic. That's why I had the smiley face after it. Things can ALWAYS get worse.
  20. this is my greatest fear of picking a QB high. You end up with a non-franchise guy like Fannyhill. Close to good, but not. You gotta stick with him AND PAY HIM hansdsomely til you've finally seen enough which it appears the Fish have not yet. QB purgatory. Perhaps Fannyhill is thier "bridge guy" now and they draft Jackson or the kid out of OK State to "groom". (Whenever I hear that term I envision the starter trimming the backup QBs beard and clipping his finger nails.)
  21. As I see it, there are maybe 2 guys that can start right away maybe. Mayfield and Rosen. The others are projects. If history is any indication, at least 2 or 3 of them will be busts. To my way of thinking, you don't trade several #1s for a project. IF we can get to 4 or 5 as some suggest, Rosen and Mayfield and Darnold or any combination could very well be off the board. Everyone has Barkley penciled n for Cleveland at 1, but they very well could go for Rosen themselves. Nobody picks first round QBs like the Clowns do. That's why I say if this is truly our plan, we gotta get the golden ticket. Maybe they have a 1 and 1a. then they gotta have #2. this is not a year to say as long as we get one of the top 5 guys we'll be OK IMHO.
