Jacoby Brissett is a possibility IMO

You did. I was being sarcastic. That's why I had the smiley face after it. Things can ALWAYS get worse. -
Tannehill with a Big Restructured Contract
reddogblitz replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is my greatest fear of picking a QB high. You end up with a non-franchise guy like Fannyhill. Close to good, but not. You gotta stick with him AND PAY HIM hansdsomely til you've finally seen enough which it appears the Fish have not yet. QB purgatory. Perhaps Fannyhill is thier "bridge guy" now and they draft Jackson or the kid out of OK State to "groom". (Whenever I hear that term I envision the starter trimming the backup QBs beard and clipping his finger nails.) -
Sal says UFA QB's was not the Bills plan
reddogblitz replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I see it, there are maybe 2 guys that can start right away maybe. Mayfield and Rosen. The others are projects. If history is any indication, at least 2 or 3 of them will be busts. To my way of thinking, you don't trade several #1s for a project. IF we can get to 4 or 5 as some suggest, Rosen and Mayfield and Darnold or any combination could very well be off the board. Everyone has Barkley penciled n for Cleveland at 1, but they very well could go for Rosen themselves. Nobody picks first round QBs like the Clowns do. That's why I say if this is truly our plan, we gotta get the golden ticket. Maybe they have a 1 and 1a. then they gotta have #2. this is not a year to say as long as we get one of the top 5 guys we'll be OK IMHO. -

We need to trade up to the golden ticket (1st pick in draft) if we're gonna depend on the draft to get our guy. Anything else and we're going to just get one of the top 5 guys and that may not be good enough. -

Some of yall just can't get enough of losing I guess. -
It was part of my post you replied to. why can't we do both? Sign a FA QB that won 2 NCAA Championships and played well in limited action that has high upside AND draft a top QB in the draft? I hope we get a good QB some way some how. I don't care where he comes from.

Perhaps, but we still need some depth at the position to back up Josh Frozen Rope Rosen.
-
does anyone think that IF the Patsies** are interested maybe we should re consider? They have been a fountain of QB talent. first with Bledsoe, then with Brady, and then Jimmy G who at least the 49ers think is really good. Maybe they know something about QBs (and cheating) that we don't? besides, we need depth at the position. Now we literally have none.

We DO have to have a starter next year. Everyone is enamored with the idea that we're going to trade up and get the golden ticket and pick Josh Frozen Rope Rosen or whoever. Fine. But what if we can't trade up? Price is too high, or we get close and then Clowns take Rosen and Giants take Mayfield and the Colts take Darnold. Could happen. Or what if we get Frozen Rope and he gets injured in training camp? I'd just like to have a QB on the roster that can play at a decent level so we can improve on last years results. (Without Hotrod how could we not? ) The fact that he's a Super Bowl MVP and highest rated QB in the playoffs doesn't hurt either. Go BILLS !!!

Veteran QB: It all comes down to FOLES / MCCARRON!

I don't want to put all my eggs in a basket that historically shows about a 33 percent chance of actually hatching. AJ had a great career at Alabama and has played well in limited NFL action. and, he studied under the great Andy Dalton. I would prefer we hedge our bets. -

Well, except for the call to punt vs the Colts. I look at it differently. Every year is a new year and chance to go all the way! I don't care about 2019, 2020, etc. Just win the next game and it will take care of itself. -

Sort of. It's not just you. I just tire of every time the Bills do something good, there is a long string of yeah butts. Hotrod was not very good. Tim Dalton, blah blah blah. Do other teams do this too? Giants - We won the Super Bowl. yeah butt, the other teams FG kicker missed a 47 yard gimme. Steelers - We won the Super Bowl. Yeah, butt the other team's TE dropped an easy pass in the EZ. Patsies - We won a playoff game. Yeah butt, the ref called a tuck. Steelers- We won a playoff game, yeah butt, Franco made a lucky play on the Immaculate Reception Steelers - We won the game. Yeah butt, the other teams WR dropped a pass in the EZ in OT Vikings - We won a playoff game. Yeah butt, that DB for the Saints took a bad angle on the football Fish - We made the playoffs. Yeah butt, the other team only had 10 men on the fields when Jay made the big game sealing run. Luck is part of the game too and every year is different. No yeah butts requried IMHO. -

does a team have to MAKE THE PLAYOFFS AND pass the domdab99 test to realy be a playoff team? Why is there always a yeah butt with yall? We made the playoffs. It''s what playoff teams do. Deal with it. Hopefully we will again in 2018. -
YES!! I could care less about all the political BS. The man can play some serious football. He can still play IMHO. In 11 games in 2016 he threw 16 TDs and 4 picks for 2,241 yards and ran for another 468. 90.7 rating. Not Peyton Manning numbers, but certainly not chump change either. Do it

With the shortage of quality QB play in the NFL, even if you have a sore knee "franchise QB" in Wentz on IR, why would any team dump a Super Bowl MVP QB for peanuts? They can certainly trim the salary cap elsewhere. "The most important position on the team is QB. The second most important is backup QB." -- HOF Joe Gibbs Everything I hear Coach McDermott say it's we're rebuilding AND trying to win at the same time. Worked last year. I expect more of the same this year. I think this dream of trotting out some schmuck next year with no expectations of winning is a pipe dream. Coach McDermott don't play that way ore at least hasn't so far. The past is the greatest predictor of the future. -

How about, he's not very good and we're trying to win.
