Bills least valuable NFL franchise per Forbes
reddogblitz replied to TroutDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, new fancy stadium. Exactly coincided with the winning. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_England_Patriots The Chiefs win a lot, why aren't they in the top 10 and the Jets are? Oh yeah, the Chiefs stadium is as old as ours. Saints are at 25 and they've won a ton over the last 15 years. Their stadium is older than ours too. When it comes to team value, the stadium plays in heavy. Wins/losses doesn't hurt, but far from the deciding factor. -

Please explain. I laid out why I don't agree. Why do you think it does beyond "Start winning and the value skyrockets. " Is that all you got? Again, give me an example (if you got one). -
Bills least valuable NFL franchise per Forbes

Doubtful. A look at the top ten list shows many teams that aren't all that good. Even the most valuable team has won only 1 playoff game in the last 20 years. 49ers had good run with Hard Ball but pretty much stunk before and after. The Jets? Rex and those back to back AFC games were a looooong time ago. The common theme among these teams (with the exception of the Bears) is they all have fancy new stadiums. If Buffalo continues to muddle areound .500 or less for a few years and then builds a fancy new stadium for billions of dollars, then the value of the Bills will go up too. Until then, it won't much if any regardless of the win/loss record. Do you know of a team that was bad and then got good and their team value sky rocketetted? If so, who? Meanwhile, the Jets and Giants have stunk for years and years yet are 2 of the most valuable teams. -

Yes., It's because of the stadium. This is why owners always want new stadiums. It drives up the value of the franchise. In Dallas, the Dallas Mavericks played in Reunion Arena which was built for them when the team moved there. 20 years later Ross Perot Jr. bought the team and did NOTHING to make the actual team better. They stunk at the time. Instead he put his time and resources into buying up land around where he got the city to build him a new stadium. Land value and the franchise value went way up and then he sold out to The Cube. Personally, I hope the Bills continue to play at the Ralph for the next 50 years. Terry and Kim (and the dog) will be fine. -
I said it looks promising. Just not ready to crown anyone until there are some hides on the wall. Something like a home playoff win. Never confuse effort with results. And I don't necessarily think this team is more talented than the 2014 - 2016 teams especially at DLine, WR, DB, and RB. Our coach is better and I'm hoping that makes the difference.

What Beane has done so far looks promising and is a good start, that's as far as I'll go. With Sunday's win, they are now .500 which is exactly where we were the 3 years before they got here. Time to deliver. I'll say all hail Beane when we win our first playoff game at home. Beat the Bengals. Go BILLS !!

Have the Bengals become anyone's 2nd favorite team?
reddogblitz replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. I think this is kinda dumb. Bills have helped other teams several times. Like when we beat Fitz and the Jets, the Steelers got in. Did we become their second favorite team? Doubtful. I look at it this way. Had Joe Webb not completed the bomb to Thompson in the snow bowl and the following play Richie springing Shady with a great block, or if we hadn't come from 7 back at the 2:00 warning to win by 3 in regulation vs Bucs, we wouldn't have made it even with Andy. I think the things we did had the most to do with it. -
Since Duke has never played in a real NFL game I can't say. But based on his play in PS and Canada, I would think it's a real possibility Duke would be a better option.

What have the Democrats done in the past Four years
reddogblitz replied to B-Man's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Joe was appealing to millennials. He's into vinyl. Vinyl is back and it's cool. heck I pulled out a few of my vinyl albums over the weekend for a spin . Sweet. -
I disagree. We're trying to win. Throw it to the best guys. Zay has had 2 years to "develop". He can "develop" in practice and with the jugs machine and by catching the ones he gets thrown to him.

Good point. She is a hair under with her birthday of Oct 13, 1989 which would make her 31 and 3 months in January 2021 Maybe when Uncle Joe runs for re election?

I would do a 2nd or 3rd. IF we indeed win and are 3-0. we would be in plum shape for a playoff run. Especially with teams that we thought were favored suddenly without QBs (Pitt, Jax, Indy). Add in a favorable schedule with 2 games vs Fish and another against Jets. D looks like a playoff D. Maybe it is time to roll the dice and acquire a big time WR and make a run at this thing? The table is set to make a run.

Bills Can Win the Division
reddogblitz replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yesterday. Big Ben Drew Brees Not necessarily. This isn't boxing.Other teams like Dallas, KC, Bal, and we take care of business we could still be king. Anyways, just beat the Bengals. I'm not writing anything off at this point. -
He would have. I think if at the time a player was available for the draft that you want buffalo to take him, then you can say we should have taken him into perpetuity. I wanted us to draft Watson in 2017, so, I will say we should have taken him . The one I hate most -" We aren't ready to win this year. Maybe in 2022. "
-
No.

Please tell me where I said I didn't like him. I do. My point is he is (or has primarily been for 34 games) a conservative coach. Nothing wrong with that as long as you win. I believe in Coach McDermott's ability to build a team and motivate his players. He has been able to coach us to wins that past Buffalo teams have figured out how to lose, like Sunday and the snow game for example. But I don't expect him to become some super aggressive coach. Just don't see it. But time will tell.
-
OK, you don't know, but I suspect I do. We're 34 games in. We'll see.
-
I think I have a pretty good idea what his stripes are after 2 years. Again maybe you're right and he just needed that talented QB/roster to make his process work in a non conservative fashion. But usually the best way to predict someone's future actions is to look at what they've done in the past. I really don't care so long as we win. That's all that matters.
-
Good points. I'm just going by what I've seen on the field the last 2 years + 1 game. Maybe you're right, but I've learned that people don't change their stripes very often. As far as 17 passes, last year I saw him allow Derek Anderson run 4 double reverses in a row vs the Cheats**, so who knows? We'll find out this year. No excuses.

Minorities get sum burns too. At least according to Ebony magazine. https://www.ebony.com/health/doctors-orders-yes-black-people-do-get-sunburn-405/
-
Time is running out.
-
Worked for us in 2017 and it we get ahead early I expect we'll see it again. Especially if our D remains stout. McDermott is a conservative coach. As long as we win is all that counts. There are no style points in ? football. Just win.

Big Blue Wary of Bills Mafia? (NY Daily News)
