  1. Every time this kid is on the field, he will be running a route on passing plays. Knox doesn't do that, staying in to block often. Last year that became more and more of a priority as the OL regressed. Kincaid will be targeted more than Knox for that reason alone. People keep blaming the OC for Knox's lack of production. Sometimes you just have to protect the QB. Having a second TE that can catch will open up the playbook. Add in that he is a move TE that can go in motion presnap and can bump someone in open space while running his route, I believe he can be utilized as a major contributor on offense. He was also used as a blocker on running plays, moving to the edges to take out a smaller defender. His skillset is very different from Knox. I believe they attempted to use Knox in motion, but he seemed a bit awkward in that role. Knox is a good all around TE, but Kincaid has the potential to be a major target on every passing down. The offense is about to become much more physical. Bigger receiving targets, better OL play and more physical RB. The whole dynamic of this offense just screams domination....well on paper at least. Time will tell.
  2. I've been pondering what the game plan will look like going forward. It seems more blitzes may be called. Not sure, but it also seems we may be moving to fewer of the base nickel. Maybe put 3 LBs on the field more frequently. They've got something in mind. Just not sure what it is yet. Offense is changing too. It is clear the coaches want to dominate the line of scrimmage. They also want bigger targets to throw to. A more physical running back. The offense is going to have a more physical look than we are used to, from top to bottom.
  3. I was thinking the defense may take a step back. And thinking that a TE is going to struggle in this offense. It seems clear though that the coaches and management are re-imagining what they want to do both on defense and offense. Getting the feeling that there are going to be some pretty big changes in the way plays are designed on both sides of the ball. Less nickel defense and more blitzes from others beside the front 4. On offense, it is clear the plan is to dominate the line of scrimmage. To throw to bigger targets. Not sure what else they have in mind, but I'm certain it will be different from what we are used to. This draft just confirms that the game plan is changing.
  4. We may have improved, but it still feels like we didn't actually gain any ground. The division is going to be the toughest in the league. Just hoping the team stays healthy because we will be running a gauntlet on the way to the playoffs.
  5. This team needs to hit on draft picks and can't pay superstar salaries to everyone. Plus, if you think this team is in trouble now, wait until next year when 4 DTs are no longer on the roster. You might get one DT worthy of playing from the draft. Someone will have to come from free agency. If you pay the salary of a Hopkins type player, how the heck are you going to fill a roster the following year. Beane has been playing fast and loose as a GM. He can't continue down that road without major sacrifices. Sacrifices that I just don't think are worth it, even for Hopkins. In fact, it could be said that Beane has all ready gone too far with the huge contract to Von Miller. You add in Josh's contract and there are very few ways to fill a roster. They aren't the only ones getting paid well either. I get that we want superstars. We just can't pay superstar salaries to everyone. The draft is the answer. Not Hopkins.
  6. Haha, the bone shattered all the way up to the hand and yes, ligaments were obliterated. Just saying, age plays a part, but not like some are suggesting.
  7. To hear some talk around here, you'd think 34 is ancient. When it comes to healing, that is still very young. I've had some pretty serious injuries at 40+ and healed pretty fast(shattered radius bone that had to be put back together with a plate and 9 screws). Recovered to full motion and strength too.
  8. Yeah, you could be right. I just think that the Bills have too many needs to give up a draft pick. We only have 6 picks in this draft and trading up would make it even less. Beane always surprises, though. If there is a year where he doesn't make a splash trade up, IMHO, this is that year. A trade up would be a huge risk, because it could really screw up the remainder of the draft board. It's not like he has a lot of draft capital to work with.
  9. I think many on this board see the need for a quality WR on the team. However, I also think many are overvaluing the WRs in a weak WR draft because of that need. It would be nice to see the the front office go offense in the first round. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. A quality offensive lineman, TE or RB, may not be a bad pick, but I can see another defensive selection. Someone like Mingo in he 2nd or 3rd might pan out. Honestly though, no one really knows what the Bills brass will decide to do in the 1st round. Going to come down to who falls to pick 27. I just don't think this is the year that Bean attempts to trade up. Thinking it's going to be either stand pat or trade down. Of course, I'm just an armchair GM myself, so what do I know?
  10. He's over 30. His updside has left the building
  11. It could be that the coaches felt that Edmunds didn't live up to the standard that Kuechly set and decided to go in a different direction. It will be interesting to see what they do at the LB position, but I do think the reason the front office liked Bernard in the first place was is ability to get into the backfield quickly and his speed. He wasn't drafted to be the next MLB at his weight.
  12. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2023/4/3/23668501/will-the-arizona-cardinals-release-wr-deandre-hopkins-buffalo-bills-new-england-patriots-kc-chiefs How's this for rumor?
  13. IMHO, Beane will be a better play caller.
  14. If they sign Calais Campbell, that could free them up to trade Ed Oliver for Hopkins. Just thinking out loud....
  15. Denver wants a kings for everyone. Beane should just tell them to stop blowing smoke up his ass.
  16. I believe it is a balancing act when deciding whether to improve offense vs defense. 2yrs ago the offense was spectacular in the post season and the defense(coaching?) let us down. Last year, the offense couldn't score points against Cincy. But, losing Edmunds to free agency is no small loss either. You cannot ignore one side of the ball at the expense of the other. Fortunately, there are free agents and there are multiple draft picks. I believe the draft is going to come down to the best player on the board regardless of whether it is offense or defense. Last year was a very strange draft. The team had so few needs that it wasn't a truly best impact player available type draft. That has significantly changed this year. There are multiple spots that need upgrades, multiple positions with aging vets. This draft will be much less about filling holes and much more about impact players. It has to be because of the shear number of needs. At the beginning of the season last year, the Bills were considered one of the most complete teams with the most depth. The difference this year is staggering. I believe Beane has no choice but to go with players that will have the most impact, and sacrifice trying to fill every hole. This team isn't going to have the most depth this year. Maybe some more impact players. Beane has his work cut out for him. He'll have to play the hand he is given and he'll have to be a hard core gambler to pull off a successful off season. Things change. Hopefully, Beane rolls with them and doesn't sacrifice long term success. A lot of things to consider. He'll have to earn his paycheck this year.
  17. Not sure if this was posted anywhere. Just one guy's opinion, but from someone who watches the Aint's. Who is Deonte Harty? Saints Wire dishes intel on new Bills WR
  18. They really need to stop with the quick screen. Damn!
  19. Jacksonville needs to stop with those quick screens. KC is on to them.
  20. I keep thinking about how aggressive the offense was against Miami and thinking that they are just getting warmed up. Josh is going to be slinging the rock a lot against Cincy and continue to aggressively take those deep shots. Miami was just a test run for what to expect later.
  21. They are going to go with a quick strike passing game. In the first matchup, the DEs were taking a very wide route to the QB. I'd like to see our ends take some inside moves in this game. The Bills rarely send a blitz, but when they do, it's always a surprise, a trend that I like very much. Some stunts by the big guys up front is in order too. That inexperienced line won't know how to handle that. Gotta find a way to rattle Burrows.
  22. This is shaping up pretty well for the Bills. I'd like to see them get hot and with both Brown and Beasley practicing for the last couple of weeks, that very well could happen. Not really expecting a lot from those two, but they can take a good deal of pressure off of Diggs and Davis. Having them out there is more about what they can do for the team than what they can do individually. Plus, with that running game shaping up nicely over the last month, this could be an absolute blowout. Would be a great thing for this team. Get hot, Buffalo. Get HOT!
  23. Cincy has been burnt bad with play action passes on 1st down by many teams this year. Allen is very good at it too. The run isn't necessarily needed to set up those passes. I do think Buffalo, now that the OL is healthy, puts 6 OLmen on the field and tests that run D of theirs. You'll also see Buffalo run the ball out of a spread formation like Chan Gailey used to do. The Bills have been working in some new wrinkles recently.
