  1. Bob Melvin with my A’s seemed to get overachieving by some nobodies. Now he has all that talent and they’re under .500. Are fans calling for his head?
  2. Yeah, I started in ‘81. Drafts were all in person. If someone couldn’t make it, either he provided a hand written list beforehand or was on the phone and there were no cell phones back then. You usually had to wait for snail mail to get the results. We kept scoring very basic back then with just TDs. Later added bonuses for like 100 yd rushing/receiving and 300 yd passing. Dan Marino screwed things up as whoever got the first pick took him and usually won the league. I think that may have been the start of the 4 pt Passing TDs.
  3. That gave me a flashback to an episode of MASH where Pierce starts an exchange where they all nod and say “Captain!” Captain!”
  4. Yeah, they were all banging on the door willing to sign for the minimum
  5. Over half a Mil to sit on IR and not play. What a life! Damn my genes!
  6. Sounds like the description of Josh before he rose to his current level.
  7. Definitely not a “process” guy. Doesn’t take coaching advice and teammates don’t like him.
  8. Hey, Carson Wentz is still out there!
  9. Yep, gotta get some 1st round picks after the Lance deal, even though those picks were already used.
  10. I think there’s an experience limit for being put on practice squad. Crowder has been around a while. Whoops, I was wrong. They changed the rules allowing for up to 6 players with no experience limits
  11. Remember the Romans vs the lions or the Gladiators? Drag ‘’em off and throw someone else in there.
  12. Yes, and a divisional rival will probably grab him and get a PR boost.
  13. I believe Peter King said he gave a Coach of the Year vote to McDermott for guiding the team through all the obstacles/issues last season.
  14. What do you think the clapping is for?
  15. Poor man’s Andy Isabella?
  16. Did you know somebody in the Dallas war room? And this gives me a flashback to Michael Scott on an episode of The Office I watched recently.
  17. This regime is frustrating at times. They don’t fill holes they should and continue to add D-Linemen and DBs. Hopefully Kincaid turns out to be the #2 option but did you really need to give up a 4th to move up one spot? They’re pretty sure they aren’t going to sign their Pro Bowl MLB so they use their 3rd Rnd pick on an OLB to add to the mix of an undrafted free agent (Dodson), a journeyman (Klein) and 2022 3rd and 7th round picks (Bernard, Spector). I foresee more long runs vs this defense this season. So, Peterman is still on their roster? Just watch the Bills trade a 6th for him.
  18. A key in his big KC game was that Tyrone Matheiu was injured in the first half and didn’t return.
  19. Worse if he’s tossing them at the TV, though.
  20. Yeah, I was glad I didn’t have to wait til Sunday for the game to be shown on NFL Network.
  21. Shorter was bad on special teams. He didnt stay in his lane and allowed a Bear to run free and nail our kick returner deep. Then he missed the block on the blocked punt.
  22. Glad it wasn’t another Bills player.
  23. In the past, on telecasts, I’ve noticed they would show a player on the sidelines after he committed a penalty, so it seems that sometimes a player may sit for a play after a penalty. I don’t attend any games so I don’t know how frequently that happens. I don’t believe it’s ever been a star player. I don’t think if Josh let the play clock run out and it was definitely his fault that he would be sat for a play.
  24. Sure it was a preseason game and there are 3 weeks til the opener. What I didn’t like was the lack of focus and discipline with our starters out on the field. Physical mistakes are one thing, but mental are just as tough to correct. Also, the long RB touchdown and the kick return may have continued to display the roster’s overall lack of speed, especially defensively.
