  1. And if we notice, it's not too hard for opposing teams to pick up on game film.
  2. Remember the Bills renegotiated for Bruce Smith a couple times after he whined, only to see him unhappy & whining again after a couple of guys around the league signed new contracts surpassing his. Makes one wonder how long Peters would be happy for with a new contract. Look at your own jobs, though. Your job may be just OK. Then you get rewarded with a raise. How lomg does the happiness from that last?? Minutes?? Hours?? Days????
  3. I question the leadership of this team. These comments from Guys like Dockery that it's Peters' thing is a bunch of BS. Somebody needs to tell Peters to get his butt in camp. Of course, apparently nobody was able to convince someone like McGahee to show up for OTAs. Maybe this is just a reflection of today's NFL?? Not a lot of players really care about winning??
  4. Here we go again. No, the team needs to have one guy be declared the starter and have everyone behind him rather than dividing the team.
  5. Right on. Sure we'd like to see the starters look great in their limited snaps but again it's preseason. I'd even give them the 1st 2 or 3 regular season games before being concerned about poor play. Remember that this coaching staff has made some very good in-game adjustments in the past so I'd want to see a full game or two of the starters before making judgements.
  6. Huh??? So what did he do yesterday to make you think this??
  7. Definitely. Preseason also gives you a chance to see potential backups in action that you may not even see play during the season (like the QBs).
  8. Pretty pathetic. I guess he's just another guy with all the talent who doesn't have the commitment and/or drive.
  9. Does anybody know: is this the same Eugene Parker that played LB for the Bills (in the 70's) ??
  10. A Lynch half-back option or (Gag!!) JP actually sees playing time??
  11. If you actually look at his stats for some seasons, even the championship years, he was horrible. He normally had a completion percentage in the 40's and threw a lot more INTs than TDs. The 2 AFL Championships should count for something, though.
  12. Former Rams' running back, Elvis Peacock.
  13. Found my answer. Signed with the Cowboys.
  14. I probably missed it but did a team sign Darrell Robertson, DE from Georgia Tech who some had projected around the 4th but went undrafted??
  15. That's what Caleb Campbell, safety from Army, said in ESPN interview. If he got drafted (which he did by Detroit the pick before Buffalo's 5th I believe) he wouldn't have to go to Iraq and would be used in recruiting. I was disappointed the Bills didn't draft him but sounds like they signed the next best guy. They said, an added attraction to get kids to go to the Academy having a player get drafted by the NFL.
  16. And remember comments in the past by Losman and coaches that he doesn't seem to handle competition very well. He's the one more likely to fall into the "looking over his shoulder" syndrome.
  17. It's probably so us West Coasters don't have to get up so early to watch and can sit back and have a beer. LOL!! I know there may be some who can't relate but I'm not one to pop one open at 8 or 9 AM.
  18. I wouldn't. Good lesser-known RBs from smaller low profile schools pop up all the time in later rounds who end up being good NFL running backs. Look at the RBs that have been getting the free agency/trade attention: Dominic Rhodes (undrafted out of Miwestern State), Ruben Droughns (3rd round by Det), Chris Brown (3rd rnd byTenn), Michael Turner (5th rnd by SD out of Northern Illinois). Other current solid backs from later rounds: Marion Barber III (4th rnd by Dallas) , Mike Bell (Denver - undrafted), Rudi Johnson (4th rnd by Cincy) Chester Taylor (6th round by Balt out of Toledo). When you consider these players and then the recent 1st rounders that didn't pan out like Willie Green, JJ Arrington and Ron Dayne, it shows that picking RBs can be a crapshoot.
  19. Nate Clements will sign a free-agent contract with the San Francisco Forty-Niners. Write it down and file it away until February. The Niners will have lots of salary cap room and CB is a position of need.
  20. It's been interesting listening to local SF Bay Area sports radio with discussions on why the Forty-Niners still stink. One thing that surprises me is al the talk about how disappointing Jonas Jennings has been. It makes me wonder about the adequacy of some pro scouting and how much homework the Niners staff did on Jennings. They believed he was going to anchor their O-line at Left tackle for years to come. They seem surpised at his injuries and unwillingness to play with them. Head coach Mike Nolan was recently quoted as saying that Jennings needs to be 100% to be effective. Sure us Bills fans follow the team more closely than other people across the country but how could the Niners' management not know Jennings was injury-prone throughout his time with the Bills???
  21. If you told me before the season that the Bills would be 2-5 at this point, I would have guessed the 2 wins were at home vs the Jets and the game AT Detroit. Since the Dolphins were expected to be very good, I counted that as a loss, along with the 2 New England games. Chicago was a no-brainer. Minnesota was coming off a 9-7 season so a victory, even at home, wasn't likely. Instead, it turned out to be wins vs the Dolphins and Vikes and disappointing losses vs the Jets and Lions. So, let's take a look at the rest of the schedule. I see strong chances for wins against Green Bay, Miami at home in December (Woohoo!!), Tennessee and the Texans. I also give the Bills somewhat of a chance vs the Jets, even on the road. So, they aren't likely to win all of the 4 games with the best chance of winning (maybe 3 ??). I say we're looking at a probable 5-11 record, which is about what many people predicted, whereas some of us optimists were thinking 7-9 or even playoffs (as Jim Mora said: "PLAYOFFS??!!!") I guess with all the changes, 5-11 shouldn't be disappointing, but I think it would be. That would mean no improvement over the Bills' 2005 record, despite a new head coach and staff that have seemd to have it "more together" than the prior staff, a promising rookie class, and an improvement by JP Losman. I guess it's not too early to start looking for mock drafts.
  22. I don't remember too many plays i've seen in watching the NFL for about 36 years where a play is stopped without the ballcarrier being tackled because of a penalty. I wonder if the ref who threw the penalty flag IS the same one that blew the whistle on the WHitner INT. If not, then how could you stop the play if you didn't know who the penalty was on?? There were several blatant holding calls on whoever was trying to block Schobel that weren't called. To be fair, there weren't a lot of penanlties called in this game so there were likely similar plays with Bills' holding that also weren't called. That pass play to Graham, though. In live action, it looked to me like he reached over the line (the computer first down line) but to see the ref running from the sideline close to the yellow line then make a right turn to mark it several feet past the line. Then, when ball spotted, it's at the 48?? Oh well, enough spewing for today. At least Bruschi didn't play.
  23. Sobieski is on the Niners roster and get this : Corey Hulsey is starting at center for the Raiders until their starter, True, returns from injury!!!
