The shine of the first 3 games turned out to be a mirage.

I don’t think the coaches had the team prepared to play for this game. I had suggested that they should forego the nickel package and start a 3rd LB. It wouldn’t have mattered on that Henry 1st play TD. They didn’t contain, the Ravens blocked it well and the Bills had nobody that was fast enough to catch Henry. After that, it seemed every play the Ravens ran, they got 5 yards before contact. Then when the Bills got the ball and the Ravens defenders were on them immediately. Best O-line in the league, my arse. The Bills defense came out in the 2nd half more aggressive but it was short lived. I agree that the play discussed in this thread probably changed the momentum of the game, but Josh was running for his life the whole game.

I agree. I thought the same thing. Josh tried to make a play when the better move would’ve been to take a sack.

I was looking at stats and noticed that Josh’s QB Rating is 133.7. It’s been only 3 games but that’s incredible.

I think they need to scrap the full time nickel for this game and play a 3rd LB.

I just hope this is the new standard and they don’t peak too early in the season.

This team has and continues to remind me of my Golden State Warriors beginning with their 2015 team. They both have a unicorn leader who sets team and league records (even obscure ones like this one) and the team does the same. After many years of futility, they both became one of the best teams in their league. They both have also been fun to watch. Unfortunately, while the Warriors have made several Finals, winning four, this Bills team has yet to achieve that success. Those Warriors teams just had the “it” factor with players and coaches that knew how to win under the pressure of clutch times in big games. Hopefully, this Bills team can get over the hump.

I noticed a couple plays where Williams didn’t seem big enough or strong enough, getting pushed back by the ball carrier.

I thought it was odd that after one TD (first?) they showed a shot of the coaching booth where Brady was stoic while everyone else was whooping it up. Maybe they missed Brady’s initial reaction.

They pulled it out despite being outplayed. The 2008 win over Ball State in the MAC Championship game was their only other win over a ranked team. I had no idea what to expect from this team based on the last 2 years. I haven’t been that impressed with Ogbanna, running or passing, but he seems to come up with a couple of big plays each game. Running game is weak. The defense seems to be carrying them.

So, will this Bills organization snag him or let him get away? He’s like Milano 2.0 and considering Matt is injury-prone, he could help immediately .

Yeah, that was awesome. It was like the UMass players didn’t think he’d run it out.

I loved seeing the players on defense flying to the ball. I hope this is part of the Babich approach.

I agree. The NFL seems watered down. I used to like to watch Indy Colts games and then Denver to watch Peyton Manning, Packers games for Rodgers/Farve and Saints games for Drew Brees, etc. Now the best description is “meh”. Lots of young QBs but none have really grasped my attention yet. Houston/Chicago on Sunday night could be interesting with Stroud and Williams.

Yeah, they were down 24-7 with 3 minutes left in the first half and then their play calling and clock management were puzzling. They were lucky to get a FG out of it.

Yeah, I wondered what the veteran Miami players thought when they met McDaniel for the first time after he was hired. WTF?!

They seemed to make getting Kincaid involved a priority to start the game, but that was it.

I hope the defense would play like they did in every game. Fly8ng to the ball and clamping down the receivers. Enough of the playing off of receivers and moving up for the tackle after the reception. I wonder if what they played in this game is the style Babich wants to play.

We’ve lost to the Jets with the likes of Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson at QB. I think they’ll be tough to beat with Rodgers and that defense.

Uh, the Josh Allen lead fireworks of the past were fun and all but where did that get us. Being “boring” with a strong runn8ng game and top defense have long been a way to win championships.

Shoutout to Cam Lewis. At the start of the game he was playing that Taron Johnson role very well.

Definitely not, he gets lost in a block and also makes wrong reads.
