I was in the Marines, stationed at Camp Legune NC. I’d been impossible the 1st 4 weeks of the season boasting the Bills non-stop. Well, I suffered terribly the rest of the season as most teams were well represented in the Corp and they showed no mercy! 🤣🤬

Fresh off our 1st playoff game 8 years, our now complete Offense led the League in multiple categories. But Dr. Jekyll’s Defense was another story. We had a winning season, flirting with the playoffs again but still couldn’t beat Miami. We never did in the decade. Ferguson, JD Hill & yes, Bobby Chandler#81 combined with OJ, Braxton and a still very formidable OLine to compile a point a minute offense! But it was matched by the Defense allowing the same. Following their tremendous leap from also ran to the Conference Championship in ‘88, the Bills set out to prove it was no fluke in ‘89. But it was a topsy turvy season as the fantastic caliber of new talent with large egos had to be reined in. Thrilling come from behind and OT wins were offset by self destruction and we became known as the Bickering Bills. The playoff loss to Cleveland had a silver lining though as it became K-Gun offense that would rule the AFC for years and inevitably send 7 players and HC to Canton.

I’m sorry, but none of these stats mean anything when your QB is MVP17. Allen singularly made both these jags better.

Never liked him as a starting WR. Sure, he scored some BIG TDs for us and I’m grateful to him for this. But he’s a loper, doesn’t have any moves and poor hands. He had a heyday for himself in Buffalo but we’re wiser now and so is Jax.
