I’d only offer this; WR wasn’t our only need this past offseason. This happened to be a significant Defense Draft and many teams benefited from this fantastic anomaly, including us. I don’t think we anticipated NE* would pay a Kings ransom for ‘Fred Flintstone’ with a ‘take it or leave it’ immediate response. COOP retiring also shot down a possible reassessment of his contract and the probable Gold Star WR prospects were taken early. Very few of us, myself included, expected any improvement from Coleman and there’s been none. Blame Beane if you must. Certainly someone is to blame. I hold out hope Shavers can continue to progress. I view him as a diamond in the rough. But it is what it is. I fully expect a clear emphasis on WR this coming offseason.

Yes, every team dealt with COVID. But teams that sucked prior to Covid had little difficulty because they were Drafting higher. After acquiring Diggs, we were bottomed out. Then the COVID repercussions began.

I blame Covid for taking our already perilous financial timeframe and drowning us to this point. Of course we’ve blown early picks. Too many to count now. But we haven’t had the resources to sign top tier FAs since.

JAG players are what you get when your QB is paid $40M per season. My answer is trade early picks for established very good players (Josh Norman, Floyd, etc.) Just don’t forget, we now live in financial purgatory because of Covid and the significant cut in funding. We’re still trying to get out from under it.

The franchise hasn’t ’Become a joke’, it’s never been anything other than a joke since the original Browns became the Ravens.🤷‍♂️

He didn’t let him go. NE* offered ridiculous $$. No way we could match that for a player whose career has been average at best. But he was a Fit here.. Yep. That should do it 🤦‍♂️ Given Brandon’s alarming lack of success with early pics, I’m for trading them for known quantities while we still have Allen in prime years. The Cap keeps going up so we can afford acquisitions that bring pedigree while dumping vets who’ve proven they’re not good enough. Maybe not top tier, but quality starters. If Pegs doesn’t make major changes after the season, I think this would be better course than college kids. Jmo. I also expect a WR being traded for before our next game.
