Jerry Hughes Do U Bring Him Back or Let Him Walk ?
Puckman5 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you mean to say “trying to make the defense worse”? They’re struggling and in need of changes. The bigger problem is that our recent picks at linebacker and D line are not producing at a high level. I won’t call them busts yet, but they’re not playing at a level you’d like your higher draft picks to be playing at. -
TBN Jim Kubiak on Allen in Cardinals game
Puckman5 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would Mahomes really be doing that much better than Josh on this Bills team? Swap QB’a and my money would be on KC with Josh, their players and Andy Reid. What am I missing? Our QB play is holding us back? -

it benefits Mahomes greatly as a QB that defenses have to worry about KC’s running game. Josh isn’t perfect, but I think he’s playing extremely well given our OL’s struggles and the lack of a running game (not to mention no competent big man to throw to). I think he can get a team to bowl, just maybe not this team this year. -

you have to love the insult crew. It’s all cake, ribbons and rainbows, but that quickly turns to flame throwing if you don’t share their opinion. ass hat? Really? I’m not apologizing for wanting to see a higher level of play from this group at this point the rebuild. I’m thrilled you’re satisfied with what you’re seeing. -

No Brady, no Gilmore, no Edelman, all the missing pieces on Defense... That’s not progress. That’s not taking a step toward being a legitimate playoff team. Isn’t that what this year is about? They’re not going anywhere playing like this. They aren’t gaining any ground on the elite teams. Is that win really a reason to celebrate? -
What did so many of the draft experts miss about Allen?
Puckman5 replied to Batman1876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's difficult to quantify potential and assess what a player that's rough around the edges will do to reach it once he starts getting paid. He wasn't a great passer coming out of college, so what do you look for: Flashes of great passing Athleticism Brains Leadership Competitiveness. Work ethic Coachability Then you place the bet. -

Fire Doug Marrone, Draft Another 1st Round QB
Puckman5 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree about giving them another year or two, but for different reasons. I just don't think a coaching change will make much of a difference. Where I have a problem with Marrone and Co. is that they were part of the decision to draft Manuel. No issue if you want to take a project QB in the 3rd round or later, but you can't waste a first round pick on a "raw talent". These types of decisions are what have kept the Bills in the schitt house for 14 years. Get the drafts right and the rest will take care of it's self. -
I still believe in EJ Manuel
Puckman5 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So he was consensus first round 16th over all pick? Did you watch the game yesterday? I'm not looking for greatness here, but I guess were seeing something entirely different up to this point. I'm looking for signs that that greatness will develop and I stand by my statement that he was drafted way too high. Does the fact that he clearly hasn't outplayed 2 undrafted QB's tell you anything? I'm not ripping the kid, but I am ripping him being picked where he was. -

It's funny the extremes from the bust crowd to the apologists. He could still be a great quarterback someday, we simply don't know right now. My issue is with management drafting him where he was drafted. This type of "we know something everyone else doesn't" mentality has kept this franchise in a state of mediocrity for years. You simply can't get cute with the draft. -

You simply don't draft a project at the 16th pick of the first round. I agree with the positive comments about his demeanor, character, athleticism, etc. That's all great and hopefully it translates into competent NFL quarterback someday, but he's clearly not an NFL ready quarterback right now. You can find plenty of "potential" in later rounds. This pick represents the arrogance incompetence of our coaches and management. I personally don't even care about mistakes and losses at this point, I just want to be entertained when I watch on Sunday. For this to happen, I'd have to see Manuel making the kind of throws and plays that that get you excited and give you hope for the future. Yes it's his first game back, but that performance was awful. At the very least he shouldn't have been out there if he wasn't ready to play. Nothing about his performance suggested he was. -
The people that want to automatically hand EJ the job back when he's healthy are NUTS!! I think he was doing fine for a rookie and he's got plenty of potential, but Lewis is playing at least as well with a fraction of the preparation in this offense. If Lewis doesn't progress over the next 4-6 weeks that obviously plays into the equation, but it's not as simple as wins and losses. I really like what Manuel is about, but there are big holes in his game that didn't improve much in the time he had as a starter. Competition is a good thing and life just aint fair sometimes.

He didn't look like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, but I think he looked fine for a rookie in his 4th NFL game. Peyton Manning threw 28 interceptions In his rookie year. Let EJ make his mistakes and figure it out. Everyone knew he was somewhat raw, but he was drafted where he was for his upside. I think he's shown poise and potential beyond what I expected at this point.

Jackson suffers LCL injury,nothing conclusive...
Puckman5 replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It depens on the severity of the tear and whether any meniscus (cartilage) was involved. A lateral collateral injury is not nearly as bad as ACL or PCL. If only LCL and everything else is in tact, he'll be back this year. -
The One and Only Stevie Johnson Thread
Puckman5 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How is what he did any worse than a player jumping into the stands? I'm not a fan of "excessive" celebrations, but "Happy New Year" on a shirt and now we criminalize the guy? I guess we assume he knew it was going to draw a penalty. There are players in the NFL that have hit people with cars and shot people, but we want to run SJ out of town for this? The guys still one of our better weapons and well probably let him walk so he can go become someone elses 1000 yrd problem child. -
Isn't this type of arguing and infighting the very same thing that keeps Buffalo/ NYS right where it is?? Why don't the two of you exchange contact info, go have a beer somewhere and get it all figured out so the rest of us can move home.
