A day later, I'm still in the camp of cleaning house.

1st of all, and I can not stress this enough, Who the hell is racing to Upstate NY??????? Maybe for retirement.. but you are not going to find any job in pro sports in Upstate NY. Which brings me to the next question.. Where were you born and what made you a Bills fan, because you are very obviously not from the Buffalo or the NYS area. Dorsey was rookie, no coordinator is going to be scrared if we fire Dorsey after a season. In fact his promotion had to be seen as a trial because he has never been an O. Cord. before... I was luke warm on our Offense this year. It was on fire early but we were figured out. No short routes, no succesful screen game, no quick slants, no adjustments when it became obvious we needed them... That should be a part of every pro offense but its such a small part of ours... Allen was able to mask the short commings... Frazier, maybe if we didn't have injuries his system may work, but the fact is you're going to have injuries... Now I think our philosophy of having enough personell for constant DL rotation is causing us issues with other parts of the team spending to much resources there... But my real issue is we have way to much cushion / soft zone for my tastes. A lot of this goes away if we can pressure the QB but Frazier hasn't been great at getting pressure on the QBs, and couple that with a soft bend don't break philopsophy that needs pressure to succeed he had no adjustments. We rush 4 then we should have had plenty of players able to clod everything up.... but 10 yd cushions is inexcusable I seriously doubt we will have any issue attracting coaches is we decide to look..... but I fear is wasting the Allen years afraid to make changes when it becomes obvious we will need some -

we need new coordinators.... I just don't see us purging McDermott or Beane but their leashes are much much shorter we are going to have a mini rebuild this offseason when we let a few players go and sign some cheaper alternatives... Now is the time to bring in some new Coordinators to work with a new players/core -
Orlovsky: Bills aren't as talented offensively as we thought
ddaryl replied to Billz4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
team needs a mini rebuild but that will be dangerous knowing that McBeane has been average at best at drafting -
How many Josh Allen prime years do they want to waste?
ddaryl replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think most of our problems is a common denominator... coaching/coordinators Our O scheme.. We do 2 things routinely and it has worked but its been figured out. You either send our receivers on outs , or you send them long on pass plays so the middle of the field is open for Allen scrambles... We haven't seen much of that at the end of the year because teams have figured how to negate that. A lot of us wanted to see the underneath stuff more often. Quick slants and crossing patterns, screens that work etc... but it was never schemed in. I don't see Dorsey flicking a switch and creating a more robust scheme. He basically took notes from Daboll and kept running the same concepts. All of this is magnified by our purtrid OL. Our D is bend don't break, which requires the D to make big time plays. If they do not make big plays then we get long days.... We did have lots injuries, but we invested heavily in the DL with little to show for big plays once Miller went down. -
A lot of us saw our problems very early in the season with losses to the Jets and Dolphins.. Our D scheme and O scheme have exhausted themselves. We are now on to a minor rebuild. We will need to make hard decidsions this year on salary cap and cap gymnatics is not the answer. We need to draft much better, not many difference makers have been drafted by Beane and Co. Lots of roll players but we need more difference makers
-
if we need a dome to win, then we are not good enough call a spade a spade, we saw our problems very early on in the year when we lost to Miami and the Jets, those problems were on full display going against a top playoff team
-
Josh looked really defeated in his press conference.
ddaryl replied to bostonadguy's topic in The Stadium Wall
the other reality we are forced to endure is a bit of rebuild the next few years. Our drafting has been so so , and our salary cap is extremly tight. Cap gymnastics will only make it worse because we need new players and a few different key positions and FA is out of the question.... So now we need to draft way better but we are already 2 drafts behind the 8 ball now with role players instead of difference makers -
We need a a big tweak to our Offesive scheme for 1 thing. Out entire offense is mostly send our receivers to the sidelines opening up the middle for Allen scrambles or send our recievers long opening up the middle for Allen scambles. These where desinged bail outs that got shut down hard. Teams now have a blue print to stop this.. Add in our woeful Oline issues and we failed miserably against a top playoff team. We all hoped for something different but in the end we died by what made us so dynamic early on... Dorsey had no answers so it will be a huge question this entrie offseason. You could see against the Dolphins and even more so against the Bengals when Allens ability to use his legs is shut down were not that potent of an O, and that is what a lot of us were pointing out this year. Where was the short stuff the quick slant... Basically it was shelved so the middle of the field was open, or at least that how it seemed to me. Yeah occasionally we had a play in the middle of the field but the the heat maps will probably show that we keep the front/middle of the field clean. On Defense... Bend don't break can be a good Defense if you have a playmakers making big plays consistently. We also had injuries to top playmakers and nobody really filled those roles. If you going to play bend don't break D your basically playing the odds that the opposing O will make a mistake and the Bills would capitalize.. Bend don't break D also works when the Bills offense take a 3 score lead into half time forcing the opposing teams to push harder where the D can take advantage. When you face a solid playoff worthy team who doesn't make many mistakes and our D doesn't make game changing plays its a struggle

regardless of overall opinion, we all agree with this

Now I'm getting mad - Burrow vs. Allen & Buffalo Bills talk
ddaryl replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Its why they play the game -
2 catches 1 TD was appreciated but I would not consider that a really solid game.. Especially since 1 catch bounced off his chest and became an INT

Difference in O-Line Year over Year
ddaryl replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, we are not doing much of anything in FA, so we better draft really well. We don't even have a full roster signed for next year yet we are over the projected cap.... Difficult decisions loom -
no presure at all??? I don't think the media affects how the Bills prepare and view the game, it will be pressure packed for both teams.

How confident are you the Bills beat the Bengals?
ddaryl replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm on the fence. This one can go either way. If we push the ball downfield and don't hit then its going to be a rough day. If the D plays bend don't break and can't get to the QB while the Cincy WRs find the spaces it could be a long day. But if the opposite happens it shall be a great day -
I do agree with the thought process that Allen gets a little to greedy. We need to take our shots but I also like controlling the ball more and keeping it out of the opposing O's hands.

Bill's offense highest graded of the weekend Games. Defense second best.
ddaryl replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
For better or for worse. I've said it many times. If we face a QB who is moving the ball easily against our bend don't break D Josh will be forced into hero ball and thats where the mistakes can and usually do happen. Josh will take his shots down field and that is expected but not taking more of the quick passes and the underneath stuff can put that hot QB back on the field more often. So I would and will always be asking for more balance in our O... If we hit often on those long throws it has an effect on the opposing team just the same, but the % of long ball completions is well under 50%, and many times leaves us 3rd and long. Miami IMO will be the weakest team we face... I do not expect Allen and the Bills to overcome the turnovers if they make them vs Cincinnatti. Burrows will move the ball against us some. So anything that puts the ball back in Cincinnatti's hands will make it much tougher for the Bills -
I waited till half time before I started watching, so I have no idea what anyone is talking about when they mention commercials. When the game was finished I may have been 5 minutes behind, but no commercials and no half time for me.

My biggest confusion was that we came out and started hitting the quick slants right off the bat... Then by series 2 that was thrown out the window.. I guess I fail to understand why we didn't stick with the quick passes and underneath stuff a little more... I've always want to see Allen master the underneath stuff because it a good way to keep opposing D's on heels a bit the bottom line is by going long as much as we did tends to put ourselves behind the 8 ball if we don't hit and that's what happened... Nothing wrong with taking the underneath stuff and controlling the clock a little more

Ravens and Lamar do not reach contract agreement
ddaryl replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
yeah I edited my post when I did more research but Lamar is an moron IMO and his self worth is skewed and the Watson deal is beyond dumb IMO I will find it amusing who ever does give Lamar a stupid deal -
Ravens and Lamar do not reach contract agreement
ddaryl replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
I see a night and day difference.... Josh was not the highest paid QB contract when he signed... It was a top contract but it was really a fair deal for the team as well... If Josh was taking the Lamar route he would of turned down that offer and demanded more... or waited till he was on the verge of becoming a UFA to try and force hands, which is what Lamar is doing Lamar turned down this contract... whats left to maximize ????? Lamar wants $230 million guarenteed, actuall Watson for Cleveland got that ...... but that was a dumb ass deal. -
Ravens and Lamar do not reach contract agreement
ddaryl replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not completely true... Yes they get paid but most players are NOT doing what Lamar is doing.... Josh could of held out for more but didn't as an example... -

A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush Lamar is all about the money obviously...if your trying to build a lockerroom I don't think Lamar is a wise choice given his monetary demands -
